Chapter 784: A Hawkling’s Wicked Plan
Currently, five youngsters were inside a small private meeting room accessible only to those ranked captain or higher.
Since they were with Shye—one of Hadean Varsa’s Commanders—Ian and the others were automatically promoted to squad captains and assigned to squads within Shye’s unit.
Also, the Hadean Varsa Commanders are privy to some top-tier confidential secrets within the organization, so none of them dared disagree with Sanada’s plan of making Shye’s close friends squad captains.
After all, they were all famous youngsters of the Valenzia Region.
While their region was the lowest-ranked one, it didn’t change the fact that they would’ve been the ones to carry the region to new heights had they not left society and joined Hadean Varsa.
Some were regional champions, others were titled adventurers, and a few even reached the ranks of regional heroes, obtaining their hero crests along with Hadean Varsa crests.
With two such crests engraved on their bodies, one could only speculate how high the ceiling of the youngsters’ potential was.
Their combat power was highly likely through the roof as well, probably even higher than some of their commanders.
This was why no one dared object.
Two days ago, Shye’s unit was officially registered to the organization by a tall, middle-aged Hadean Varsa Commander, who informed them that they were called the Black Dawn Strike Force.
This commander was, of course, Maverick Crowley.
However, for the sake of keeping things confidential and unbiased, Shye hid their identities from everyone except Shirley.
“So, why did you call for us, Kiin?” Ian asked.
Hearing the question, Kiin feigned a difficult expression, clenching his fists.
“I still think three months is too long,” he said through gritted teeth. “I know this goes against Shye’s orders, but if we wait that long, there might not even be a Wendy left to save. What do you say—will you join me in trying to rescue her?”
Ian, Harry, David, and Luna didn’t respond immediately, frowning instead.
They, too, wanted to save Wendy as soon as possible.
However, it was clear that doing so without any plan would be equivalent to simply throwing their lives away.
While their combat capabilities were top-notch, sneaking through the enemy’s main headquarters—especially Dweezel’s—would be no easy feat.
After all, the bastard was cunning enough to fool the entire world. Defending his territory from intruders like them would be child’s play for the old snake.
Who knew what kind of defensive devices and mechanisms Dweezel had installed in his headquarters, capable of rendering all their trump cards and escape skills useless?
This was what the other four feared.
It would be fine if they could have a chance to fight their way out of tough situations, but what if they don’t even have a chance to fight?
Hence, the four hesitated, especially since they found Kiin’s current actions were rather strange and unfitting of his character.
They’ve long known him to be calm, collected, and logical. He would’ve usually been the last to agree to such a high-risk plan.
Yet, now, he was the one proposing it.
Though he desperately wanted to agree, Ian ultimately refused.
“Kiin, I, too, am worried about Wendy. But I don’t think this is such a good idea. Sorry, but count me out.”
If even Ian, who spent only a small portion of his time on intelligence training through reflex exercises, could see that Kiin’s plan wasn’t very clever, it was no surprise that Harry and David easily came to the same conclusion.
“I apologize, Kiin, but I’m sticking with Shye’s plan.”

“Me too.”
The two mages replied, walking towards the exit the next moment.
Seeing that the smarter ones didn’t agree to the plan, Luna naturally didn’t agree as well, deciding to trust Shye’s plan instead.
Kiin inwardly gritted his teeth in frustration.
His plan was falling apart!
Of course, he would never allow it to fail so easily.
“Fine then, if none of you cares about Wendy, I’ll go alone,” Kiin said coldly, storming out of the room as though he was truly angry.
Naturally, Ian—who was closest to Wendy aside from Shye and Shirley—was shaken by the sight.
Seeing Kiin storm out of the room, clearly worried for their friend, made him wonder if he had indeed been acting too indifferent.
It was the ultimate guilt-tripping and gaslighting scheme of the century.
“W-Wait, Kiin!” Ian exclaimed, capturing Harry and David’s attention as well. “Don’t be so hot-headed, let’s talk about this more.”
The young scout hero was undeniably conflicted.
His mind rejected the plan, but his heart desperately yearned to agree—especially after witnessing such raw emotion from Kiin, who was typically calm and composed in any situation.
It wasn’t only him.
Even Luna, Harry, and David couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt after witnessing the normally composed Kiin lose his cool.
They began to wonder if they had indeed been treating Wendy’s predicament too lightly.
As a result, they all remained in the room, if only to see if there was even the smallest chance of succeeding in saving their friend.
“F-First of all, do you even have any idea where Dweezel Hawkins’ Headquarters are?” Ian asked.
This was the absolute basic requirement for him to join Kiin’s illogical plan.
If the guy didn’t even know where they would go, it would be impossible to succeed, and they would immediately inform Shye of Kiin’s plans to stop him from his foolish attempt.
Kiin didn’t answer directly, instead opting for a rather lengthy explanation.
“I once met Sanada Eiichiro in person when I was with Shye, and I noticed he always carried a certain machine with him. Over the past two days, I’ve been keeping track of his schedule, and in about an hour, he’ll leave his room. The location of Dweezel’s headquarters is likely in that machine. Don’t worry about it—I’ll handle finding the location. Let’s meet here again tonight. If I manage to uncover the target location, we’ll proceed with our plan to rescue Wendy. If not, we’ll abort the mission.”
Hearing Kiin’s logical words, Ian finally nodded, inwardly satisfied.
This was the Kiin he knew.
He initially thought that the guy had already lost his composure due to worry, so he was torn about whether it was wise to follow someone who wasn’t of a hundred percent sound mind and heart.
However, with this, the worries in everyone’s hearts dissipated.
“Sounds fine…I guess.”
“Count me in.”
“Me too.”
Obtaining everyone’s approval, a shadow of a wicked smile emerged on the corners of Kiin’s mouth.
Of course, the story he made up was utter bullcrap.
As Dweezel’s Fifteenth Hawkling, he had long known the location of the main headquarters.
There was no need for him to sneak around at all.
With this, the mission to “infiltrate” Dweezel’s headquarters and “save Wendy” was all but guaranteed to proceed
However, what the four didn’t know was that Kiin’s sinister plan was far from the words he was spitting out—his true intentions were far more devious than what was on the surface.
