Chapter 802: Mother?
Initially, with the Hawkin Guards numbering only five hundred including Guard Captain Balkan, Alicia’s strike force comprising seven hundred elites along with a thousand regular raiders was more than enough to overwhelm their opponents slowly.
But then, just when things were going smoothly, two hundred of those “things” appeared.
Initially, the “things” seemed like a normal two-hundred-strong unit of tall, hulking warriors.
They carried terrifyingly huge greatswords with Tuscany handles, and they were fully clad in heavy, adamantite-tier armor, with only their eerie, purple-glowing eyes visible through the gaps in their helmet’s visor.
They looked like an army of justice on the surface, though their sinister eyes betrayed their righteous exterior.
Nonetheless, with only two hundred of them, Alicia didn’t think that they would be able to turn the tides of the battle.
Unfortunately, her assumptions were quickly proven wrong.
As the hulking unit of heavy infantry charged in unison, their explosive strength left small craters and cracks on the ground, sending rows of terrorist raiders flying with their bodies split in half without them even realizing what happened.
Due to this, Alicia was forced to split her elites.
She sent three hundred of them to deal with the monstrous warriors, leaving only a little less than four hundred to deal with the Hawkin Guards.
As a result, although the battle situation more or less stabilized, it was now Alicia’s Strike Force Two who was on the back foot, their formations tethering on the brink of collapse.
She urgently needed help if she wanted to survive.
The reason for this was that the warriors were blocking their path of retreat, and while their numbers were still somewhat superior, they were cornered in the middle of two enemy forces.
Nonetheless, all she needed to do now was to look for an opportunity to retreat.
Her Strike Force had, after all, already done their job of drawing out the enemy’s hidden forces.
“C-Commander, Squadron Five is on the brink of being wiped out!”
“Commander! Squadron Three can only last for at most two more minutes!”
Based on the distress calls of the Squadron Captains, it seemed that her Strike Force would soon fail the final phase of their operation: escape with their lives.
Due to a momentary lapse of focus, Alicia was struck in the gut by a side kick from Guard Captain Balkan, causing her to vomit a small amount of blood, her innards burning in pain.
It was far from a lethal wound.
However, it sure served to further decrease the morale of her force.
Watching the pathetic state of his opponent, Balkan chuckled.
“You damned terrorists think you can just march in at our Hawkin Mansion and do as you please, huh? Let’s see if you can escape now, then. We’ll slaughter every single one of you scu–”
Just when the guard captain was about to finish his mocking speech, he suddenly felt a heavy, sledgehammer-like blow on his abdomen, causing him to fly a few meters backward while violently spitting out a mix of blood, snot, and saliva from his nose and mouth.
“Alpha One, reporting.” A young man’s voice sounded, bringing Alicia back to her senses, tears forming in her eyes behind her mask.
Her son personally came to save her!
Shye arrived at the scene only to see Alicia suffer a heavy kick in her gut.
At that moment, memories of his mother caressing his head and taking care of him flooded his mind for a quick moment.
Soon after, his mind blanked out and he lost himself in fury, causing him to move instinctively and punch the bastard that hurt his mother with all his might in the same spot.
“You dare lay your filthy hands on my mother, bastard?” He said, his gaze and tone as cold as a frigid winter night.

Before Balkan could even reply, Shye had already slashed his greatswords at him once more, leaving the guard captain scrambling to muster one clumsy dodge, still drooling on the left side of his mouth due to the vicious gut punch of the man codenamed Alpha One.
Darky and Murky each now weighed 150 kilograms, boasting a spine-chilling sharpness rating of 500, thanks to Shye relentlessly slaying monsters whenever the opportunity arose.
Hence, although the two greatswords hit nothing but air, the mighty Guard Captain Balkan of the Hawkin Guards felt his blood run cold, fear gripping his heart.
In the past, Balkan had been among the strongest of adamantite-ranked adventurers of the highly competitive Yon Augenn Region.
He was a battle-hardened veteran who had a keen sense of danger.
This was why he instantly realized how dangerous Shye’s weapons were.
The guard captain felt an overwhelming urge to flee, driven by a mix of reasons: the sheer terror of facing those horrifying greatswords and the excruciating pain he had just endured and was still experiencing.
However, how could he, the mighty guard captain of the illustrious Hawkin Mansion, flee in the face of death?
He would be tarnishing the name of Dweezel Hawkins and betraying his trust if he did so.
Unfortunately for Balkan, the reality was far more complex than his superficial understanding.
He was not as trusted as he thought he was.
He wasn’t even aware of the harrowing operations his lord was doing behind the scenes, thinking that Dweezel was a righteous individual through and through.
Regarding the heavy infantry that had suddenly appeared and improved their situation, Balkan simply assumed they were a hidden force deployed by the WAA to assist them.
The fact that they might be products of a sinister soul experiment did not cross his mind at all.
Thus, watching the “righteous warriors of the WAA” courageously swim through the tides of terrorists, Balkan forced himself to face his fears, allowing him to realize something.
‘Is this terrorist elite codenamed Alpha One actually Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn?’ he thought.
Based on his voice when he reported his arrival to the terrorist commander, Alpha One was quite young.
Who else except for Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn could have such monstrous strength at such a young age?
Balkan believed his hunch was correct.
But then, just when he was about to taunt the ex-hero, who was currently walking towards him with a cold gaze, he realized something much more important than Alpha One’s identity.
‘Mother? He called this terrorist commander “mother” earlier, didn’t he?’
