Chapter 807: Post Operation Reporting (2)
“Maverick, let’s start with you,” Sanada said, urging Maverick to start the meeting.
With a simple nod of acknowledgment, the operation’s head commander began:
“The squadrons of the main force successfully landed at their designated target points without issue, ensuring the operation began smoothly. Guard Captain Targon’s anticipated arrival with his elite unit was factored into the plan, so their presence caused no significant disruptions.”
“However, trouble arose when two heroes suddenly intervened. We hadn’t accounted for all six Yon Augennian heroes to be present, with four defending the city from the advancing hordes, while the remaining two responded to our assault on the WAA Headquarters.”
“It was only thanks to Alpha Three’s decisive victories over Baradur Pentagon of the Holy Sword and Saorus Calamitas of Heaven’s Wrath that the operation proceeded as planned. I recommend promoting Alpha Three to the role of vice commander for the Black Dawn Unit. In total, we only lost around a hundred elites and six hundred raiders. Also, I did not encounter any unusual forces within the WAA Headquarters. That’s all from me.”
After hearing Maverick’s report, Sanada nodded.
Losing a hundred elites, though significant under normal circumstances, can be deemed a relatively minor cost considering the target was the WAA Main Headquarters, guarded by the formidable captain Targon reputed to rival even heroes in combat prowess.
“Great job, Maverick.” the old man generously praised, turning his head towards the female commander on the opposite side of the table. “Now then, what about on your end, Alicia?”
“Similar to Commander Maverick, Strike Force Two’s squadrons landed precisely on their target points, charging towards the gates of the Hawkin Mansion as planned. We easily slaughtered the common guards of the mansion, however, Guard Captain Balkan and his Hawkin Guards did pose a challenge.”
“Their combat capabilities were as anticipated, and my forces initially overwhelmed them with ease—until a peculiar unit of 200 tall warriors with purple glowing eyes appeared, each wielding massive adamantite-tier greatswords and clad head-to-toe in uniform, heavy adamantite-tier armor.”
This time, Sanada narrowed his eyes.
“Warriors with purple glowing eyes?” he began, “Did they seem human?”
Alicia didn’t reply immediately, thinking for a few seconds first.
“Yes…I think so…” she replied, slightly unsure. “Although each of their combat strength fell only a little short of Balkan’s both their height and physiques seemed human to me. It’s just that I find it weird how their exteriors and combat prowess all seemed the same. As though…as though they were manufactured in a factory.”
“Hoh? Did those warriors speak to you, at least, or show any emotions resembling those of humans?” the old terrorist leader followed up.
Again, Alicia thought for a while before responding, fully confident this time.
“Now that I think about it, no! They didn’t even grunt or make any sound while fighting my elites. I’d say they were definitely stronger than my elites—it would take at least two to bring down one of them. But the strangest part was that they didn’t seem to tire; I couldn’t hear any heavy breathing despite their relentless, high-intensity, and fast-paced attacks.”
Sanada frowned at Alicia’s words, believing that his suspicions were now confirmed.
Soul Arts has the capability to increase one’s combat capabilities outlandishly in a short span of time.
However, there is a common, unavoidable side effect: the more drastic the increase in strength, the more one would lose his humanity.
Based on what Alicia said, the strange warrior unit with purple glowing eyes was probably Soul Warriors manufactured by Dweezel and his researchers.
Of course, Sanada was alarmed, considering the combat prowess of each individual Soul Warrior was almost the same as that of the famous Guard Captain Balkan of the Hawkin Guards.
If Dweezel could produce ten thousand or more of such warriors, then the battle would already be lost before it even began.
Fortunately, the old man was very experienced in Soul Arts, and he did not panic immediately.
‘Considering that old snake deployed only 200 of those warriors to defend his mansion, knowing his personality, there are likely at least twice that number—possibly even more. He probably has around 500 of them in total.’
Sanada and Dweezel had battled each other numerous times, and they were both extremely familiar with each other’s personalities.
The latter, being extremely cautious and meticulous in handling matters, would never show his full hand so easily.
Thus, Sanada’s estimation was fairly accurate.
Although he slightly overestimated Dweezel, assuming the old snake had already amassed 500 Soul Warriors, the reality was less severe—Dweezel had only produced around 435 of them at that point.
This thought made the terrorist leader calm down.

Based on that number, it wasn’t too hard for Sanada to deduce that it wasn’t that easy to manufacture such warriors, and they were probably expensive as hell too.
They should be.
After all, magically enhancing a weak and less talented individual to nearly rival the combat prowess of a renowned captain of an elite guard unit in such a short time must come with a significant trade-off—namely, the exorbitant cost of production.
If Dweezel could mass-produce such monsters, he would have already conquered the entire world by now.
Confident of his deductions, Sanada nodded appreciatively at Alicia.
“Continue. Leave those warriors to me, I’ll think of a solution.”
Nodding back at the old terrorist leader, Alicia continued her report:
“Those warriors appeared suddenly from behind, forcing me to divide my elites, as they cut down rows of my raiders without any resistance. If not for Alpha One, we would have been forced to use our emergency mass teleportation scroll. Regarding how those warriors fared against Alpha One himself, it’s best he provides that report directly. In total, I lost approximately 210 elites and 430 raiders. That concludes my report.”
“I see. Excellent work, Alicia. Losing only 210 elites and 430 raiders in exchange for such crucial information was well worth it,” Sanada commended with a nod before turning to Shye. “Now then, lad, just how strong are those warriors with the purple-glowing eyes?”
