Chapter 820: Silly Baba
Under the anxious gazes of the Savage Ogre Generals, the crude Ironwood gate opened, revealing two human figures.
Dallis looked at the ground, struggling to make eye contact with Big Bruce and the others.
“Baba!” bellowed the largest of the ogre generals, stepping forward before halting roughly ten meters away from Shye and Dallis, unwilling to approach any closer.
Big Bruce did not dare risk their leader’s life.
Dallis, however, was extremely surprised at the call, quickly making eye contact with the general.
“B-Big Bruce… how long have you known it was me? D-Does everyone else know too?” she asked, feeling a mix of embarrassment at being discovered without realizing it and relief that, as a human, she was still acknowledged as their leader.
The enormous ogre general tilted its head in confusion, turning to look at his comrades before shifting its gaze back to Dallis.
“Hmm? What does Baba mean?” it asked. “Baba has been Baba since five years ago!”
Upon hearing Big Bruce’s reply, Dallis slapped her face with her palm, shaking her head in embarrassment.
Shye couldn’t help but let out a stifled laugh after realizing what had happened.
It seemed that Dallis’ disguise hadn’t been as effective as she thought.
“Sigh… Big Bruce, if you already knew it was me, why didn’t you say anything? I could have saved myself the trouble of carrying that heavy costume!” she chided, her tone tinged with mild embarrassment.
The ogre general tilted its head once more in confusion, before finally, it also realized what Dallis had been doing in the past five years.
“BAHAHAHAHA! Baba, we may be stupid, but not so stupid to not know old Roo die of old age and choose you to take over,” Big Bruce roared in laughter. “We think you miss her since she care for you, so you pretend to be her.”
“O-Old Roo? Baba’s not her name?” Dallis stuttered, further embarrassed at her discovery.
“BAHAHAHA! Old Roo didn’t even tell her name? Baba is clan leader title, not name, and that’s why we call you Baba, because you’re leader now!” the general clarified.
Naturally, Dallis felt moved upon finding out she had been recognized as the leader for five years already, which only made her more embarrassed about the news she was about to share.
She would’ve chosen a different path if she could.
However, this was their best chance for survival, and as the ogre clan’s Baba, she would naturally choose to make this difficult decision if it meant securing a brighter future rather than clinging to the temporary illusion of peace they currently had.
“Big Bruce, thank you for acknowledging me, a human, as your leader.” Dallis bowed sincerely towards her generals, leaving them scratching their heads in embarrassment.
“We ogres stupid. Humans are wise. It would be smart to follow humans!” Big Bruce assured.
Dallis nodded in appreciation at their awareness of their own weaknesses.
The next moment, her expression turned stern.
“Big Bruce,” she called out.
Realizing that she was now standing before them as “Baba” and not as little Dallis, all ten Savage Ogre Generals knelt, awaiting her commands.
“Our habitat is at risk of being taken from us in the future, and we have to fight now if we want to keep our current peaceful life,” she stated, scanning her eyes over her generals.
Big Bruce was their leader.
If she could gain his approval, her decision would be practically finalized.
Upon hearing their Baba’s words, Big Bruce fumed, roaring in utter fury.
“THEN WE FIGHT, BABA!” the general exclaimed decisively.

“WE FIGHT!!” bellowed the other nine in unison.
Shye truly appreciated the ogres’ straightforward nature, finding it impressive that they didn’t even ask who the enemies were.
All they needed to know was that enemies were threatening their peace, and they would grab their clubs and fight.
“Thank you for trusting me, everyone,” Dallis said gratefully. “I’d like to introduce the man beside me. His name is Shye Crowley, and he and his army will be our allies in the upcoming war. Don’t worry, I’ll be the one leading our clan in battle six months from now. But for now, we need to work hard to expand this cave, as we’ll be temporarily sharing our home with his dragon army.”
Big Bruce finally frowned at Dallis’ words.
However, in the end, none of the ten Savage Generals objected, dissatisfied as they were.
Nonetheless, they needed a few clarifications.
“Our home is big, but dragons are also big. Until when will they stay?” Big Bruce asked.
“Ah, right. They’ll only stay for six months. After the battle, they’ll leave, and Shye Crowley will also help us set up a formation to better conceal our sanctuary.” Dallis explained.
Ogres were simple creatures, and upon hearing they would only need to share their cave with dragons for six months while working to expand it, they were content.
After all, it was a small sacrifice if it meant ensuring their clan’s prosperity for generations to come.
Unlike humans, ogres didn’t overthink things, so they readily believed what Dallis said without needing any further explanation.
If their Baba said it was the right thing to do, then it was.
Shye nodded in appreciation, surprised to get what he wanted—and more—so easily.
It seemed that even the heavens were appalled by the transgressions of the old snake.
To his surprise, the ogre named Big Bruce suddenly walked towards him, staring down at him coldly.
“Shye Crowley, we trust Baba, so we also trust you now. Don’t waste our trust.” the ogre warned before shifting its attention towards Dallis.
“Baba, what we do now?”
“Just head back to your quarters for now, I’ll be inspecting the dragon army that will be joining us first.” the young woman said.
With a nod, Big Bruce turned to look at his brothers, urging them to follow him.
He was undoubtedly the leader among these generals.
Shye was naturally curious about this particular Savage Ogre General.
Not only was its skin a different shade from the others—marked with large red spots and strange growths all over its body—but it was also larger than the other generals.
Thus, Shye couldn’t help but check its attributes.
‘Appraisal!’
What he saw almost made his eyes bulge out of their sockets.
