Chapter 822: Fierce Little Thing
“Ukii!! You think I’m scared of you, overgrown lizard?! Come then, try and squish me if you can!” Nookie raged, jumping up and down in utter indignation.
The way Tarintus ignored the little necrollin despite its protests also served to further ignite the anger in its heart.
The next moment, Nookie slammed both its palms on the ground, exclaiming: “Eduardo Tensei!!!”
Around fifteen enormous magic circles then appeared on the ground, summoning fifteen void containers soon after.
As the lids of the void containers crashed to the ground, fifteen towering figures emerged, one of them even larger than Tarintus.
No matter how prideful dragons may be, they could never disregard one of their own, regardless of age—especially one larger than even an elder dragon.
Turning around, Tarintus’ eyes widened in shock and slight fear.
Primitive as it may be compared to human civilizations, dragons also had societies, and they sometimes organized gatherings of varying prestige to spar among themselves, primarily to make their names resound among their kind.
Some gatherings welcomed even the youngest dragons, while others were exclusive to the most renowned.
As an elder dragon, Tarintus had attended many such gatherings and was familiar with most, if not all, of the dragons who had ascended to the rank of dragon emperor.
The emperors residing in the Throgon Death Zone were among those he knew well.
Thus, upon seeing Firindroth again, Tarintus felt an instinctive urge to offer a slight bow in acknowledgment of his power—only to be horrified to find that the mighty emperor was now nothing more than a corpse puppet.
Watching the reaction of the elder thunder dragon, Nookie smiled coldly in satisfaction.
“Hmph, you dare say you’ll squish me, but didn’t this dragon emperor join my corpse puppet collection in the end? Watch your mouth or I’ll turn you into one!” the little necrollin threatened back.
It had already been prideful and vindictive before it evolved.
Now that it was a Necrollin Master Puppeteer, there was no way it would tolerate such disrespect.
However, part of its hostility towards Tarintus was its status as Shye’s first-ever tamed monster.
It instinctively felt that it was the elder dragon’s senior, and naturally, no senior would want to be disrespected by its juniors.
The mysterious [Tame] skill subtly instilled a faint sense of inferiority in the dragons’ hearts toward Nookie, which fueled their annoyance with the little necrollin.
Essentially, everything unfolding was a result of the skill’s unforeseen side effects, leaving it up to Shye, as their master, to manage the situation.
“You dare threaten me, little imp?!” Tarintus raged back, causing Shye to frown.
He did not expect that his dragons wouldn’t get along with Nookie, considering all of them were his tamed monsters.
Before long, a few dragons gathered behind Tarintus, their eyes blazing with fury at the audacity of the small creature daring to threaten their kind.
They would not tolerate such disrespect toward their mighty race.
Nookie wasn’t about to back down, summoning a few more of his corpse puppets to even things out.
“Heh, you overgrown lizards act so arrogant, yet you can only gang up to take on little old me!” the small necrollin taunted, driving home the point that the dragons had no right to their arrogance if they needed numbers just to challenge him on equal footing.
“If your race is truly so formidable, then why not face me one-on-one?”
Hearing Nookie’s words, Tarintus and his dragons suddenly felt embarrassment washing over them, realizing that the little necrollin was right.
Only, their prideful hearts turned the embarrassment into rage.
“You dare talk about fighting one-on-one when all you’re doing is hiding behind your army of corpse puppets?!” another elder dragon shot back.

“Hah! I thought dragons were supposed to be smart, but it turns out you’re all just plain stupid! What else would a necrollin master puppeteer like me do if not control corpses? How dumb can you guys be? If you’re so capable, why don’t you create your own corpse puppet army to fight me? Oh, wait—you can’t. All you overgrown lizards have is brute strength and tough scales. How could your tiny, decaying brains possibly handle the mental strain of commanding a hundred puppets?
“Honestly, I can’t understand how you’re all so full of pride when you’re this incompetent. Imagine ganging up on a lone, four-foot-tall necrollin and still acting arrogant about it. Absolutely hilarious! Come back and talk when you’ve got the guts to fight alone.”
At first, Shye was both furious and embarrassed by the sudden, unexpected hostility between his tamed monsters.
Before long, however, he found himself amused, quietly chuckling at the little necrollin’s sharp retorts, backed with undeniable facts and logic.
‘Hahaha, this fierce little thing.’
It was indeed quite funny that a group of dragons could only gang up on one little four-foot-tall necrollin.
After all, they would undeniably turn into one of its corpse puppets should they dare fight it alone to the death.
For a brief moment, the dragons could only grit their teeth in frustration, unable to find a single word to counter the infuriating little imp’s taunts.
Witnessing what was happening, Dallis was dumbfounded, staring in shock at the fierce little imp that was suppressing the dragons.
She didn’t even have an idea of what necrollins were.
Yet, there was one in front of her, destroying the dragons in a verbal war.
“Alright, alright, Nookie. You’re a fierce little character.” Shye stepped in, clapping his hands to capture everyone’s attention. “Learn to leave some face for others next time.”
He then turned to Tarintus and the others.
“As for you lot, I understand that a dragon’s pride is innate, so all I ask is that you try not to look down on my other tamed monsters. If it’s hard for you to not disdain a small creature like Nookie, just think of it as respecting my wishes.”
After diffusing the fight with calm words, Shye glanced over his tamed monsters, sensing that they weren’t fully in agreement with his statement.
As a result, he decided to take a more ruthless approach.
“If I catch you all in disagreement again next time, I’ll erase you from existence. Understood?”
This time, both Nookie and the dragons nodded vigorously, sweating coldly, eager to avoid angering their master.
Seeing this, Shye was satisfied. He then turned to look at Dallis.
“Now then, shall we begin expanding the cave?”
