Chapter 847: Troublemakers
For the first time since other units began visiting the main headquarters for cross-training with Shye’s unit, another unit had finally defeated the gatekeepers and earned the right to challenge the Black Dawn Unit.
Unfortunately for the Chaos Unit, the Kirov Unit fiercely fought back, resulting in them having to use the entire sparring day just to earn their chance to disrupt the Black Dawn Unit’s strict training schedule.
They would have to wait until the next sparring day to challenge Shye’s underlings.
Chaos, who was enjoying the cross-training sessions between the three units, was naturally all too happy to stay.
If he needed to wait another week, then so be it.
Despite enjoying turbulent scenarios, he wasn’t uncultured like Cobra.
He knew they were the visitors and the ones intruding, so he didn’t unjustly demand to fight the Black Dawn Elites, as Cobra likely would.
No rush; he could wait to enjoy his sweet chaos at the right time.
In the meantime, Commander Chaos, his Vice Commander—Feather—and his twenty-five squadron captains, all joined Ian and the others in the commanders and captains training room, enjoying himself as he trained according to the Black Dawn Unit’s training regimen.
Chaos, as per Kirov, was an incredibly strong duelist.
Nonetheless, following Shye’s regimen gave him satisfactory results.
Hence, despite being a commander himself with the right to create a training regimen for his men, he set aside his pride—which he considered rather useless—and happily participated in each training session.
Chaos even enthusiastically shouted something along the lines of, ‘Yes, Commander Izanagi!’, whenever he could.
Like so, another week quickly passed.
Naturally, in cross-training sessions between comrades-in-arms, new bonds inevitably formed—both rivalries and friendships.
The most notable friendships that formed was the one between the blindfolded Commander Chaos and a certain midget from the Black Dawn Unit, laughing and eating together as though they were old friends.
Chaos’ laid-back and somewhat humble attitude was a refreshing change for Seira, allowing her to boast about anything she could think of while basking in the amazed reactions that fed her ego.
Of course, the grape-haired midget knew that the commander was just humoring her, but that was enough for her.
In fact, she preferred it.
Kirov was naturally flabbergasted again at the most unlikely of friendships.
However, with his current mindset for learning, he took notes from the formidable midget, whose ability to forge friendships transcended ranks.
He even suspected that if given the chance, she would be able to befriend the Supreme One to the point where she would be allowed to rub his bald head like Chaos did at the meeting.
Squadron Captain Seira was truly a different kind of beast.
Not to mention, her dueling prowess was also up there.
Unfortunately, just as the Kirov, Black Dawn, and Chaos Units were starting to get along, another unit arrived.
Chaos, however, seemed to have anticipated it.
He was currently right beside Sanada in his room, who watched the new unit enter the headquarters with a frown.
“Tch, this damn Cobra…planning to cause trouble again…” muttered the old man with a click of his tongue.
Sanada naturally wouldn’t allow Cobra and his men to bother the Black Dawn Unit, especially after he took the time to watch them, discovering that despite their small numbers, every single member of the unit was monstrous in their own right.
Even the priests and priestesses in the support squadrons were no exception.

The old terrorist leader swiftly performed hand seals, summoning a void pocket that would allow him to reappear in front of Cobra and his men, though he was suddenly interrupted by Chaos.
“Now, now, geezer,” the commander began, “why not allow a little friendly competition, huh? Didn’t you see what happened to the Kirov Unit? Heck, forget about them—look at my unit! Do you think those guys love to train? They hate training! But now that they have competent training partners, they’ve suddenly become enthusiastic, improving by leaps and bounds!”
Sanada was naturally annoyed, fully knowing that Chaos only wanted things to get messy so he could watch and enjoy the commotion.
“Hmph!” the old man snorted in response. “Didn’t you see what happened last time? If we allow those two units to cross-train, there will be casualties! Stop me one more time, and you’ll be taught a lesson.”
Chaos, however, merely chuckled at the old man’s threat, not scared one bit.
“Old man, you’re already so old, yet you still resort to intimidation tactics? You can barely move! Fine, you know what I’m up to, so just let me enjoy the show, and I promise you there won’t be any casualties. Alright?”
The old man sighed.
He knew his threat wouldn’t work on Chaos. Seeing the excited look on the man’s face—even with the black blindfold covering his eyes—Sanada realized he couldn’t stop his right-hand man from enjoying himself.
“Fine, but you absolutely cannot allow a single casualty, alright? That kid, Shye, wouldn’t hesitate to massacre Cobra’s entire unit if even one of his underlings is harmed. And I can’t punish him too severely, either—he’s the organization’s tide-turner trump card. You must promise me there won’t be a single casualty. Otherwise, the unsealing operation would fail before it even began.”
Upon hearing the old man’s earnest plea for a semblance of order in the chaos he intended to create, the wide smile on Chaos’s face faded slightly.
It seemed that what he was about to do was indeed a bit too risky.
‘Heh, but isn’t it more fun this way?’ he thought. ‘Shye Crowley, huh? Is he that strong? Oh well, how would I know if he’s a fun guy without testing the limits of his patience and combat prowess?’
“Fine then, I promise, old man.”
The worry on Sanada’s face eased slightly upon hearing Chaos’s guarantee, though he remained fairly anxious.
He, the Voidweaver, was strong, but his top dogs were also within the range of his combat prowess.
Stopping them, should things get out of hand, would be difficult without sacrificing a bit of his remaining lifespan.
