Chapter 849: Order in Chaos
Chaos was flabbergasted at what he just heard, his mouth wide open as he stared at Seira with newfound respect.
‘Of all the things she bragged about, why didn’t she boast about her peerlessly sharp tongue?!’
This was the thought running through the utterly surprised commander’s mind.
Naturally, Cobra was utterly infuriated, in disbelief that a midget dared talk back and even mock him.
Without uttering a word, the commander sprang into action, dashing forward and almost instantaneously appearing before Seira.
He then slashed his cutlass with a swift motion, killing intent radiating from every fiber of his being.
Cobra was not one to hesitate when it came to taking a life.
Chaos’ heart sank, horrified upon realizing what was happening. He could’ve intercepted Cobra had he maintained his focus.
Unfortunately, Seira’s ruthless retort snuffed the presence of mind right out of him.
Now, even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t make it in time.
Luckily for him, the midget had a lot of surprises in her bag of tricks.
Just as most of the elites and a majority of the captains from the Chaos and Cobra Units were convinced that the short squadron captain of the Black Dawn Unit was about to meet her end, the black-and-red cutlass merely phased through her body.
Most of them failed to notice the thin and translucent protective blue layer that briefly enveloped her body the moment the sword made contact.
This was her signature skill, [Mana Shift].
Before Cobra could even comprehend what had happened, a powerful blow—like the strike of a sledgehammer—slammed into his gut, sending him sliding back beside his vice commander, Viper.
Seira paused deliberately, her foot suspended in the air after delivering the kick that sent Cobra sliding back, ensuring everyone could see she had defeated the commander in a single exchange.
Recognizing Ian’s superior dueling prowess, she then wisely retreated behind him, recognizing that the vice commander—her “lil bro Ian”—was better suited to face Clown Cobra, the leader of the circus troupe.
While certainly possible, Seira knew it would be rather difficult for her to defeat the commander based on the speed of his [Dash] skill.
She was slightly outmatched in raw physical attributes.
Nonetheless, she would take her little victory, flaunt it to everybody, and gladly rub salt on the small pride wound she inflicted upon the troublemaking commander.
“Hmph! See? You’re nothing but a circus clown!” she mocked with the most annoying grin she could muster.
Everyone, including the Cobra elites, was naturally shocked at what just happened.
Their commander fell into a disadvantage and was humiliated by some unknown squadron captain?
Hadean Varsa elites were used to the troublemaker getting whatever he wanted through rude means, as only Chaos had the combat prowess to stand up to him.
Somehow, the two never had any disagreements, though it was mostly because Cobra never pressed Chaos the way he did other commanders.
There were even times when the troublesome commander poached talented men from other units, and their commanders dared not speak up.
While some had dared to do so in the past, none met a good end, as Cobra ruthlessly killed them all, facing little punishment from the Supreme One due to his importance to the organization.
This was why everyone believed that it was just better to give the troublemaker what he wanted.
Otherwise, things would just escalate and they would only lose more than what was originally requested, possibly even their lives.
This was the first time Chaos had seen Cobra mocked to such an extent, with the one responsible managing to keep her life for this long.

Unknowingly, he jumped up and down in excitement, his vice commander, Feather, chuckling at his antics.
“Pfft…”
To make matters worse for Cobra, a stifled laugh came from just behind him.
It was his own vice commander, Viper, laughing at him with a surprisingly cute voice.
This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
“You damned sl*t! I’ll break you!”
Utterly enraged and humiliated, the troublesome commander charged at Seira once more, his cutlass covered in an eerie black aura.
“You think you can do as you please in our training halls?”
To Cobra’s surprise, a stern voice came from his left, accompanied by a palpable lethal threat.
He was forced to redirect his attack toward the source of the voice.
Unfortunately, the force of his blow was absorbed by what appeared to be a shadow, and before he knew it, he felt another blunt impact.
This time, it landed on his chin, though it was noticeably weaker than the midget’s kick on his gut.
Given his physical attributes, the strike wounded his pride more than his body.
He wasn’t even stunned by the punch; it only fueled his fury.
After sliding sideways for a few meters, he stabilized his footing and glared furiously at his attacker, only to realize it was Vice Commander Izanagi—also known as Alpha Three—whose reputation had recently skyrocketed within the organization.
Cobra wasn’t used to not getting what he wanted the way he wanted it.
Hence, he totally snapped and lost himself in anger.
“Cobra elites, kill these bastards!” he ordered.
The elites of the Cobra Unit were itching for action, furious at the bastards from the Kirov and Black Dawn Unit for disrespecting their commander, forgetting that they were the ones who started crap.
In the next moment, all seven hundred Cobra elites stormed into the training hall and charged forward, including Vice Commander Viper.
Some of them knew they were in the wrong.
But despite their reluctance, they had no choice but to follow their commander’s orders.
‘Sh*t!’ Chaos cursed inwardly at the sight of the impending skirmish, springing into action.
He knew Sanada was watching from somewhere close, so he had to take control of the situation.
If he didn’t, the old man would, and Chaos would never be allowed to stir things up again.
Despite his name, the commander had the skills to enforce order, and he immediately used them to stop the conflict from escalating.
While he loved to see how the skirmish would play out, he had to uphold his end of the deal to the old man.
Furthermore, while he was somewhat of a bastard who had distasteful hobbies such as watching people kill each other for stupid reasons, he was also a responsible commander.
The success of the unsealing operation comes first.
In the next moment, a jet-black dome engulfed the members of the Kirov and Black Dawn Units, blocking the Cobra elites from reaching them.
