Chapter 851: The Old Snake’s Preparations
Once the matter with Cobra had temporarily been settled, Hadean Varsa’s preparations proceeded without much hiccups.
However, it wasn’t only them who were preparing meticulously.
The WAA had no idea whether they would truly be attacked by Hadean Varsa, and if they were, they also had no idea when it might happen.
But of course, Dweezel Hawkins, who was capitalizing on his position in society and subtly manipulating the WAA to advance his pursuit of immortality and world domination, had a fairly accurate estimate.
This was thanks to his remaining high-ranked mole in the opposing organization.
While the exact day hasn’t been announced by Sanada yet as per his source, he at least knew what month and week it would happen.
To a terrorist organization banking a large part of their major operation’s success to the element of surprise, such information would mostly spell doom, and if the old snake somehow got the exact day in the future, then the failure of Hadean Varsa would be set in stone.
It would be Sanada’s job to sniff out the rat before announcing the exact date.
Of course, the old terrorist leader was aware of such a possibility, and he already had a plan on how to perform one last cleanup.
Inside a vast, secured laboratory filled with harrowing contraptions and horrifying experiments scattered in every corner, two men—one old and the other middle-aged—stood facing each other, while the other researchers stood on standby behind the middle-aged man.
“So, Aghanim, have you and your team completed the mass production machines?” Dweezel asked, his tone ice cold.
A month had already passed since the deadline his head soul researcher had promised.
Yet, the mass production machines were still not finished.
The old snake felt that the production of the soul weapons was rather inefficient. Also, if he was to ensure his success in the battle, he had to find a way to make more Soul Warriors.
Nine hundred warriors by the week of the battle was too few for him.
After witnessing the performance of the warriors during Hadean Varsa’s probing operation, Dweezel yearned for a faster production rate.
Hence, he temporarily ordered Aghanim to stop producing the warriors and focus on a mass-production machine instead.
He wanted at least five thousand such warriors to be ready by battle day.
Finally, although the talented head researcher and his men encountered a few problems, they managed to finish the mass production machines.
“Hahaha, yes, Lord Dweezel. I apologize for the delay, but we’ve finally completed the two mass-production machines,” Head Researcher Aghanim began. “The production output of the current Soul Warriors is a bit lower than expected, but reaching five thousand by battle day should be no problem. In fact, we can even exceed that number slightly, depending on the mastery and talent of the machine operators.”
“Hmph, fine. That is an acceptable result. What about the other one?” Dweezel asked.
“Ahh, the Lesser Soul Warrior Production Machine turned out better than expected. As long as humans can be supplied consistently, producing ten thousand Lesser Soul Warriors by battle week should be no problem,” Aghanim replied with a yawn, evidently sleepy.
Once again, after hearing his head researcher’s results, the cold expression on the old snake’s face eased.
Their conversations had always been this way.
Despite the head researcher always completing the task late, the results had always been satisfactory to excellent.
Five thousand Soul Warriors, ten thousand Lesser Soul Warriors, the WAA forces, and the high-ranked adventurers in each city formed a promising force that seemed capable of easily thwarting Hadean Varsa’s attack.
“Don’t worry about the supply of humans, I’ll keep them coming. How’s the combat prowess of the Lesser Soul Warriors? And for how long could they fight?”
The difference between the Soul Warriors and the Lesser Soul Warriors was the humans used to create them.
The former required a higher dose of the soul mixture and at least a male platinum-ranked warrior adventurer, while the latter could be created with a smaller dose and common folks with no combat abilities, regardless of gender.
Even a child could be used.

However, it was not preferred, as a child’s attack range was shorter than that of an adult.
“Hmm, in terms of adventurer ranks, the Lesser Soul Warriors are at least a solid low-adamantite. They can fight for eight hours before needing to rest for two hours to be recharged with the soul mixture. After recharging, they can fight for an additional four hours, but beyond that, they must be discarded as their flesh will begin to disintegrate.” the head researcher explained.
Once again, Dweezel was satisfied.
The battle might not even last for eight hours, but even if it did, he still had his Soul Warriors.
He just had to use his Lesser Soul Warriors wisely and everything would be fine.
“Good. I shall give you and your team a paid one-week break.” the old snake declared. “After that, I shall return with Balkan and the Hawkin Guards. Enhance their combat capabilities.”
“Gladly!”
Soon after, Aghanim led Dweezel to the testing center, where the old snake observed the combat capabilities of the first Lesser Soul Warrior produced.
A few minutes later, the head researcher led the way again, this time, towards the soul device production area.
Aghanim then demonstrated to Dweezel that the previous units had already been recharged and were ready for use before moving on to inspect the newly requested jamming devices.
The head researcher explained each device in detail before finally presenting the old snake’s most anticipated soul device.
Observing the device that was shaped like a diamond with a purple core in the middle, Dweezel narrowed his eyes, asking:
“Is this the darkness tracking device?”
“Yes, Lord Dweezel. I attempted to create a darkness disabler, but unfortunately, it would take at least a year and a half to develop, so we wouldn’t be able to finish it in time.
Instead, we developed this darkness tracking device, which allows us to track Shye Crowley’s shadowy wisp.
Once the core of the device locks onto its target, it will follow the target’s trail, maintaining a distance of fifteen to twenty meters.
When the target stops moving, the device’s main body will summon a teleportation circle, enabling a party of seven individuals to immediately teleport to the core’s location. However, please note that the magic circle will remain active for only twenty seconds.
The hunting party must be prepared at all times. Also, after completing their mission, they will need to return by conventional means on their own, as the core would dissolve shortly after they teleported to its location.”
