He, like everyone else from Valenzia, got a brutal reality slap.

That was how weak their region was.

With merely four and a half elite units from Hadean Varsa, the WAA Valenzia Branch and the city’s elite guards were slaughtered, including his former comrades.

Old Midnight Fang, though undoubtedly strong, was methodically overwhelmed by his mother.

Maia had clearly inherited her combat prowess and her style.

Alicia fought like a mad dog, giving the old scout-titled adventurer no room to breathe despite several close calls, fully aware that Midnight Fang would eventually run out of steam as long as she kept pressing him.

The only solace Shye found in the simulated destruction of his beloved city was knowing that if he, Ian, Shirley, and the others were there, the invaders wouldn’t have had such an easy time.

They might have even found attacking Valenzia City to be a nightmare.

Nonetheless, his heart slightly broke as he watched the deaths of his former comrades.

Elysia and the other titled adventurers were truly likable individuals.

If he could, he would naturally save them.

It was truly unfortunate that they found themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield.

It didn’t take long, however, for an idea to pop up in his mind.

‘There was no need to kill his former comrades, is there?’

Incapacitating them and sending them back to the Hadean Varsa headquarters was enough.

Almost immediately, his mind began to race, formulating a solution to turn his idea into reality.

The problem was Cobra, as the bastard had been assigned to fight Elysia Iceborned of the Eternal Frost.

He had to think of a way to capture Elysia before the troublemaker did.

Meanwhile, the battle continued.

The fall of Valenzia was merely the prerequisite to achieving the Valenzia Strike Force’s true goal: baiting reinforcements to come and keeping them occupied for as long as possible.

After capturing the WAA Valenzia Headquarters, the Valenzia Broadcasting Station, and the Valenzia City Hall, Viper immediately led a group of elites to the prepared hiding point, carrying the core of the newly invented jamming device Sanada had named ‘Detain.’

The Vice Commander of the Cobra Unit was tasked with handling one of the most crucial parts of the operation.

After around ten minutes of sprinting full-throttle, Viper and her team arrived at the hiding point close to the main gate that they just toppled.

Given how the device was designed, anyone searching for it would assume the core was located near the center of the city.

In reality, it was far from the center, positioned closer to the city’s edges.

The door of a food establishment slammed open as Viper barged in, heading straight to the kitchen. There, she lifted a specific ceramic tile beneath a floor rug, placed the device inside, restored the tile, and covered it with the rug before quickly leaving the area with her men.

As part of Hadean Varsa’s strategy, they left the core unprotected.

Instead, they holed up inside the key buildings they had captured—all near the city center—and began setting up fortifications to create the illusion that the core was being protected.

The fall of Valenzia was then broadcast to the world by Commander Hurkan, whose unit was holing up at the Broadcast station, their fortifications fully set up.

Sanada watched from the void with narrowed eyes, observing as the WAA headquarters and city halls in the capital cities of other regions erupted into panic and turmoil.

They scrambled as expected to send reinforcements to retake Valenzia.

He then quickly teleported above Yon Augenn City, keenly observing how the Dweezel simulation would react.

However, Sanada, despite capturing one of Dweezel’s True Clones and using it to enhance the accuracy of the Dweezel simulation’s reactions, knew that the old snake would eventually react in a much more cunning way than what he was currently witnessing.

As he expected, Dweezel merely snorted in disdain at his attack.

The bastard couldn’t care one bit about Valenzia City.

Luckily, Hale Eversong’s reaction was also according to plan.

The head director paced back and forth as he contemplated whether to send reinforcements to Valenzia.

After all, he already had first-hand experience of Hadean Varsa’s misdirection tactics.

He couldn’t help but suspect that the attack on Valenzia was merely a diversion.

However, Cobra’s appearance made him hesitate, as the simulated Hale Eversong believed Cobra was too important a commander to be used as bait.

The fairly notorious Hurkan and Grover were also there.

After careful consideration, Hale decided not to send reinforcements from Yon Augenn.

Instead, he called the directors of the other regions, instructing them to dispatch at least two heroes, three titled adventurers, and five champions each, along with five hundred to a thousand elite guards, to recapture Valenzia City.

The order naturally displeased the directors of other regions, as they, too, feared that their capital cities might be next on the list.

But they also understood that Yon Augenn must not, and cannot, fall.

Otherwise, the world would plunge into utter chaos.

Director Barley of Krebori and the other directors could only comply through gritted teeth.

Watching everything proceed according to plan, Sanada couldn’t help but smile a bit.

After about ten minutes, eight small forces—each consisting of five hundred to a thousand elite guards and led by two heroes—appeared one by one across Valenzia City through emergency mass teleportation circles.

They numbered around 5,800 elite guards, a staggering sixteen heroes, twenty-four titled adventurers, and forty champions, all out for blood, glory, and duty.

If there was one thing working in Cobra and the others’ favor, it was that each death in the simulated world wouldn’t result in a real death.

The killed Hadean Varsa elites would only be teleported out of the simulation.

Those eliminated could only wait for the operation simulation to end in another room, where one of Sanada’s aides would explain the situation to them.

They weren’t allowed to rejoin, as it would compromise the authenticity of the simulation.

A few of the eight scattered reinforcement forces decided to regroup first, urge the adventurers from the Valenzian Adventurer guilds to help, and organize their ranks before heading toward a fortified building to try their luck at driving the terrorists away.

This was especially true for those attempting to retake the WAA Valenzia Headquarters from Cobra.

Forces from higher-ranked regions like Deltra, Fanfir, and Chellionne took it upon themselves to tackle the hardest and most dangerous task: fighting the notorious Cobra Unit.

Nonetheless, with the mithril and adamantite-ranked adventurers of Valenzia emerging from their hiding places to reinforce the reinforcements, the recapture force grew from 5,800 to 12,500.

The Hadean Varsa Valenzia Strike Force was now outnumbered nearly 3 to 1.
