Chapter 890: Siege of Valenzia (4)
The ground of Ninth Street on the eastern part of Valenzia rumbled as the Alicia Unit advanced to capture their target establishment: the Valenzia Broadcasting Office.
Sprinting alongside Commander Alicia was her trusted vice commander.
“Commander Alicia, the Black Dawn Unit has encountered fierce resistance. We can’t advance further,” Vice Commander Vherinn reported, prompting Alicia to raise her hand and signal her men to halt.
And naturally, the Alicia elites stopped right behind their commanders.
The commander frowned at the report.
Since the Black Dawn Unit was attacking from the main gate and still struggling to break through at Third and Fourth Street, a reckless advance by the Alicia Unit could result in them being singled out and pincered, with no reinforcements close enough to assist.
Would she dare, was the question?
After all, it only meant there was a chance of such a thing happening—it didn’t guarantee it would.
According to the old man, capturing the broadcasting stations was a crucial objective that had to be achieved.
Alicia had to decide whether to push through without waiting for the Black Dawn Unit or wait for them.
Just as she was about to take the safer path, a presumptuous yet lively voice—one that was hard to dislike—called out from behind them.
“Ahem! Uhh, Commander Alicia. I’m Squadron Captain Seira, your so–… umm, Commander Black Dawn’s ultimate underling.”
The two commanders inevitably turned to look at the individual who just introduced herself.
“Ahh, yes, Squadron Captain Seira…I’ve heard of you and your…bravery in not backing down from Cobra.” Alicia replied with a forced smile, taken aback by the daring interference. “What is it?”
“AHAHAHAHA!”
Surprisingly, the midget laughed heartily, clearly proud of her reputation.
Her reaction further caught the two commanders off-guard.
“Ahem, thank you for the generous praise, Biggest Mada—uh, Commander Alicia. I just want to contribute a little… Knowing my comrades, they’ll undoubtedly breakthrough soon, so there’s no need for us to stop and wait for them.” Seira continued, causing a frown to emerge on Vice Commander Vherinn’s face.
The deputy didn’t appreciate her reckless words.
After all, one order from Alicia could mean the loss of more than a thousand lives.
The commander in question, however, only stared at Seira deeply, the image of her son popping up in her mind.
With how competent Shye was, would he really appoint someone incompetent as his captain?
Reluctantly, Alicia nodded subtly, leaving Vherinn wide-eyed in bewilderment.
“C-Commander Alicia.” the deputy stuttered. “What we’re about to do is extremely high-risk, don’t you think we should ponder about this a bit more?”
This time, it was the presumptuous shorty who was displeased.
‘Why is this guy so cowardly?’ she thought.
But of course, as the Black Dawn Hero’s underling, she couldn’t bring shame to the magnificent name of her boss.
None of her thoughts reflected on her smiling facade.
Fortunately, the Biggest Madam was, like her son, quite the visionary and explained things in a way the midget appreciated.
“Vherinn, I understand, and under normal circumstances, it would be the best course of action. However, this is the final operation—the very reason our organization exists. We can’t proceed as we usually would, or we might risk failure.”

Seira nodded repeatedly from the side, slightly irritating the vice commander.
Yet, despite this, Vherinn remained loyal and respectful toward Alicia.
Though dissatisfied, he held his tongue and simply followed his commander’s orders.
The decision was finalized, and the next moment, the Alicia elites resumed their advance toward the Valenzia Broadcasting Office.

“Hmph, as expected, scum like you wouldn’t amount to anything.”
A cold insult reverberated from above as Elysia knocked Ian down again from his shadowy perch.
Ian had to admit, the heroine was the strongest mage he had encountered so far—stronger even than the Yon Augennian Mage Hero, Saorus Calamitas of Heaven’s Wrath.
But that was where it ended.
While she was more difficult to defeat, the vice commander was confident in his ability to prevail.
No, in fact, Ian was certain he would defeat Elysia sooner or later.
The problem, however, was time. He and his elites couldn’t afford to be delayed any longer.
After all, one of the key essences of their operation’s success was speed.
It was a good thing that Ian wasn’t as noble as his other friends.
If necessary, he could employ a few dirty tactics to get what he wanted or needed—something he had learned from his brutal profession as an adventurer.
In this case, Ian decided to ignore Elysia entirely.
‘You want to play games? Fine then, let’s play. But this time, you’ll be the cat.’
With a mocking sneer, he shifted his attention to the skirmishing elites, diving into the fray with his men.
Elysia, being highly intelligent as a mage, immediately realized Ian’s plan.
The bastard intended to massacre her elites!
“You scourge!” she barked furiously.
Elysia then aimed her icy elemental staff towards Ian, but then, she realized she couldn’t fire a single spell, as it would result in friendly fire.
Blood fountained and spurted as a shadowy asura descended upon the WAA defenders, slaughtering one elite after another in a chilling requiem of blood and steel.
The sight of Ian unleashing his true power in front of his men elicited thundering cheers from them
Naturally, the morale of the Black Dawn unit surged, while the WAA guards’ plummeted, resulting in them falling faster and faster by the blades and projectiles of the terrorists.
“FIGHT ME, YOU COWARD!!” Elysia roared in desperation and fury.
She never felt so helpless in her life.
Unfortunately, her angry callout was met with cold, almost mocking indifference.
Ian simply continued to slaughter the WAA Valenzia subordinates.
On the other hand, Elysia could only watch.
And she most certainly didn’t want to for long.
“Retreat!! Back to the gates of the headquarters!!”
With a heavy heart, the Valenzian heroine ordered the retreat, allowing her men to breathe a sigh of relief as though granted a second life.
They didn’t want to fight the demonic, dagger-wielding asura of the Black Dawn Unit for another millisecond.
