Chapter 891: Siege of Valenzia (5)
“Where are Piercing Zephyr and the rest of our champions?! What about the reinforcements?!” Belford hammered his hand on the desk again.
He had just received a message from Elysia, informing him that she and her elites were retreating to the gates of the headquarters.
Moreover, it seemed that the leader of the terrorist unit attacking them was none other than their former hero, Ian Izanagi of the Nightfall Requiem—one of the traitors who had deceived him and stolen his region’s scout crest to carry out his and Hadean Varsa’s unholy deeds.
This was why Belford was so furious.
Everyone, both his co-directors and his agents, was betraying him.
‘If at least Piercing Zephyr and Wendy Primrose of the Immortal Radiance were here…’ thought the old director.
After taking three deep breaths, Henry—Belford’s aide—was finally able to compose himself after being lashed out at by his superior.
“R-Reporting to the director! P-Piercing Zephyr and the other champions are still unreachable! I also tried contacting the Hawkin Mansion to request Wendy Primrose’s immediate return, but they refused, stating that both Lord Dweezel and the young heroine are in the middle of an important arcane development.”
“DAMN THEM, DAMN THEM ALL!!” the old director roared, his voice echoing in the four walls of his office. “WHAT ABOUT THE REINFORCEMENTS THEN?! WHERE ARE THE HEROES?! WE NEED HEROES THIS INSTANT!!”
“R-R-Reporting to the director! I-It seems the timing of the terrorist attack is extremely unfortunate, as two to three heroes from each region are currently out on missions and will take some time to return. In the meantime, for the sake of their own region’s security, t-the other directors can only lend us one hero each, along with two titled adventurers and four champions.”
‘Nine heroes, eighteen titled adventurers, and thirty-six champions along with those who are currently here…’ the old director pondered, his chest heaving up and down.
“Fine, that’s good enough.
Tell them to send at least one more hero each if the agents manage to return. Also, we need at least 1,000 adamantite-ranked adventurers, ten regular guard squadrons, and two elite guard squadrons.
It doesn’t matter which region they’re from—inform them that our regional headquarters will cover the expenses for mass teleportation. Now go, quickly!”

“Oh? Izanagi’s unit has broken through!” Alicia said as she sprinted through the streets, arriving at Valenzia Broadcasting Office a few seconds later.
“Hahahaha! Thank you for your trust, Biggest Ma–err, Commander Alicia! Like I said, my unit is strong, and it would be impossible to stop them completely!” Seira bragged.
Unfortunately, her proud words landed on deaf ears, as the commander and her deputy were now staring at the defenders waiting at the broadcasting office’s gates with a mild frown.
There were unexpectedly around 1,500 guards, along with three titled adventurers—one of whom was Midnight Fang—and six champions.
It was a tough resistance to break through for sure.
Based on their uniforms, it appeared that ten of the fifteen guard squadrons consisted of regular guards, while only five squadrons of one hundred were elites.
Although they were slightly outnumbered in terms of top-tier combatants, they had the advantage in quality.
The battle was highly winnable.
After a quick deduction, the female commander unhesitatingly raised her hands, ordering her men to get into position.
Then, the next moment…
“Charge!!” she roared, leading the way for her men
And so, the battle for the control of the Valenzia Broadcasting Office began.
Two titled adventurers—Midnight Fang and Burning Blade from Chellionne, immediately worked together and intercepted Alicia.
Vherinn, on the other hand, fought the remaining titled adventurer from Fanfir in a duel.
Seira was surprisingly unmarked, causing the midget to be dissatisfied.

The champions went to the more prominent squadron captains of the Alicia Unit instead.
Of course, the grape-haired shorty immediately made the WAA defender army regret leaving her to random WAA squadron captains.
This mistake also served to be a grave one that made the WAA collapse in mere minutes.
With every destructive swing of her greatsword, Seira slew a squadron captain or five to six guards, creating a massive opening for the Alicia elites to capitalize on.
Midnight Fang quickly realized this in exchange for almost having his throat stabbed.
The old titled adventurer stepped back briefly to shout orders, instructing all six champions to contain Seira, before rejoining the fray to assist Burning Blade, who was barely holding on, in containing Commander Alicia.
Realizing that the six champions were now on their way to her, the midget laughed heartily: “NYAHAHAHAHA! YOU DARE UNDERESTIMATE THE FORMER TITLED ADVENTURER OF VALENZIA, BLACK DAWN’S ULTIMATE UNDERLING, LIKE THIS?! FINE THEN, PAY FOR IT!!”
Naturally, now that Seira had introduced herself, her name rang a bell, and the approaching champions frowned.
They recalled the information their headquarters had provided:
Seira Ramah, one of the ten Valenzian youngsters at the Heroes Banquet, who had also defeated a Yon Augennian talent expected to become a titled adventurer within five years.
This was the opponent they were facing.
As mere champions, they knew they wouldn’t be able to stand up to her in a duel.
But with six of them… perhaps…
Changing their approach, the six champions locked eyes with each other, assuming a hunting formation.
This was the highest form of respect a human could earn in terms of combat prowess: being treated as though they were monstrous creatures.
Midnight Fang was somewhat familiar with Seira’s strength, having been her former comrade, but the old man wasn’t sure how explosive her growth had been over the past year and a few months.
He could only hope the champions could contain her, at least until he and Burning Blade could defeat Commander Alicia.
Unfortunately, as if fate were toying with him, the midget broke through the encirclement with a violent charge toward the shielder among the six champions, rendering the warrior’s shield useless after two hits and knocking him out of commission with the third strike.
The scout and another warrior among the six champions quickly tried to capture the former titled adventurer-turned-terrorist captain’s attention,
but they, too, were defeated within a few moves.
With no frontliners left to assist them, the three remaining champions decided to retreat behind the defensive lines of their small armies.
Sadly, two of them were taken out before the remaining priestess champion managed to secure her safety…
For now.
