Chapter 895: Unsealing Operation: Phase Two (1)
For the first time in history, the world was plunged into chaos of unprecedented levels.
Almost every city and town was besieged by various terrorist organizations and syndicate groups.
Some fell while others held strong.
“Boulder, I can’t activate any type of teleportation items or skills…” stated a hero from the Weaven Region with a frown, swatting away a purple spear from a soul turret that shot towards him with a violent, almost furious strike of his sword.
Were they still fooled into sending excessive amounts of reinforcements to Valenzia City despite their directors’ precautionary measures?
The ten regions, except for Yon Augenn and Deltra, deployed a sizable portion of their armies and agents to help reclaim Valenzia’s capital from the terrorists.
While the manpower sent by other regions wouldn’t leave their capital cities defenseless, it significantly weakened their defensive capabilities.
If Hadean Varsa were to mount an attack of such scale on their capitals…
The heroes inwardly shuddered at the thought of their beloved cities falling into terrorist hands.
However, upon second thought, they believed this to be impossible.
After all, if the WAA—who controlled a significant portion of the world’s power dynamics—still had to spread their forces thin to defend the most populated cities, how could Hadean Varsa, who operated like rats, possibly command such a force?
The WAA agents trapped by Detain in Valenzia found some solace in the thought.
“Tch, me too…these damned terrorists are so adept at such cowardly strategies…” Boulder Rockburrow of the Rumbling Earth replied to his comrade. “These bastards are probably targeting Yon Augenn City again—that’s why they lured us out here to this glorious land of hillbillies…”
Boulder’s deductions were spot on.
But unfortunately, he found out too late, as they were now trapped without a way to return to their city should their directors call them to return.
The heroes from the third batch of reinforcements tried to destroy the barrier through good old violence.
They hacked, stabbed, and shot elemental arrows and projectiles at the red dome with all their might, but none worked.
They also tried simply stepping out of the dome, but it was like a birdcage that prevented them from doing so.
All attempts, including teleportation to the other side, were ruthlessly shut down by Detain.
In the end, the heroes could only continue on their way to reinforce their comrades.
They haven’t received any reports regarding an attack on their home region from their directors, anyway, so why overthink things?
For now, reclaim Valenzia they shall.
Unbeknownst to the heroes, one of the reasons Hadean Varsa targeted the Valenzia Broadcasting Office was to install a device in their system to jam messages from other sources.
This device prevented messages from being received 100% of the time, though calls still had a modest 10% chance of getting through.
This limitation stemmed from the constraints of what Sanada could develop with his years of dabbling in technology, the arcane, and soul arts.
There was a lot to do with what limited time the old man had.
Such things were inevitable.
Nonetheless, the failed calls would at least buy the other strike forces some time, especially the Yon Augenn Strike Force.
The external communication-jamming device and Detain were currently working wonders for Hadean Varsa.
The Valenzia Strike Force could take pride in having accomplished their tasks successfully, making way for Phase Two of the unsealing operation: take over the other eight capitals.

“Phase One complete, Valenzia Strike Force has achieved all objectives.”
After receiving this message from all four commanders of the Valenzia Strike Force, the other units, hidden in the shadows of trees and thickets in their assigned capitals, couldn’t help but clench their fists in triumph.
Some even voiced their joy, though they were quickly reprimanded by their superiors.
Only Phase One of the Unsealing Operation succeeded, and they still had a long way ahead of them.
Celebrating now was way too early.
Nonetheless, the commanders and captains of the other regions were undeniably happy, as their hearts had been overwhelmed with anxiety, especially after the expected message was delayed by more than two minutes.
In an operation where speed was critical, even seconds could prove lethal—let alone a delay of two whole minutes.
Some of them had even thought the operation had already gone haywire.
Fortunately, the Valenzia Strike Force somehow pulled through, and now, it was their time to do their part.
After a short yet passionate speech from the commanders that ignited the hearts of their elites and steeled their resolve, black signal flares shot heavenwards at almost the same time in different capitals.
After that came the rumbling noises of thousands of elites and raiders marching, accompanied by the thundering hooves, paws, and claws of small-scale monster invasions, consisting of around one to five thousand monsters close to the apex of the food chain.
This, however, happened in only eight regions.
Yon Augenn, for some reason, wasn’t attacked, but Hale knew it wouldn’t last.
In fact, he was certain that terrorists and their damned hordes were already hidden somewhere outside the city.
However, the other directors had just reported that their capitals and other cities in their regions were now under attack by the bastards.
Hale was certain that after everyone had been baited into sending reinforcements to Valenzia, these attacks on the other capitals were the same—mere diversions, meant to lure him into sending reinforcements and further weaken Yon Augenn’s defensive capabilities.
The problem was that, although Hadean Varsa’s plan was now plain for all to see, it was hard not to fall for it willingly, as it was attacking him through his guilt.
If the other cities were falling, could he still bear to watch without intervening?
It was an open scheme that was impossible to avoid.
Hale, however, was not like the other directors and could think way more calmly and logically than the others.
He immediately identified that Hadean Varsa likely was running on limited time, and that their plan would fail should the other regions hold on long enough.
Yon Augenn City was unlike other capitals; it was the capital of the entire world, the hub of hopes, dreams, and order.
It certainly must remain in the WAA’s hands at all costs.
To achieve that, Hale knew he must combat his own guilt for a good while.
It was a battle of who would crumble under the pressure first.
‘Hmph! Fine then, Sanada Eiichiro. Let’s see the extent of your filthy talons…’
For now, the head director shall observe.
