Chapter 898: Final Phase Begins
“Deltra Strike Force has accomplished all objectives.”
“Fanfir Strike Force was forced to adopt Plan B. Only three out of the four establishments were captured. We failed to capture the city hall.”
“Commander Arturo of the Chellionne Strike Force, reporting. Only two out of the four establishments were captured. The WAA Headquarters and the teleportation formations were too heavily guarded. Only the Broadcasting Office and the City Hall were captured. City Lord Brios is in our hands.”
“R-Reporting, Commander Chen from the Weaven Strike Force. We were ambushed on Fourth Street in Weaven City and suffered grievous losses. It seemed the Weavenians were strangely prepared for our attack and had anticipated it. We were only able to capture the Weaven Broadcasting Office.”
“Commander Ghost from the Hakk’Shatta Strike Force…”
Reports sounded from the organization’s mana communicator in almost a sequence, allowing all elites to learn of what happened to the other regions.
Initially, their hearts sank upon hearing Commander Arturo’s report, and even more so once it was Commander Chen’s turn.
The order in which the units were assigned to regions wasn’t random. It was decided based on a unit’s overall combat prowess.
The Chellionne Strike Force was stronger than the Weaven Strike Force, which, in turn, was stronger than the Hakk’Shatta Strike Force—or at least, that was how the Supreme One, Sanada, saw it.
Of course, the Hadean Varsa elites also had an inkling of how strong they were compared to the other commanders’ units.
The ranking of the strike forces was in parallel to the ranking of the regions.
Thus, they thought that since the success trend was downwards, the remaining strike forces assigned to attack the region of Hakk’Shatta—namely Commander Ghost—and those ranked below, would all fail.
That luckily turned out to not be the case.
The reports concluded with the flawless capture of the Krebori Region’s capital, courtesy of the Krebori Strike Force.

Meanwhile, inside a luxurious white and wood-themed office, Hale was sitting calmly in front of his desk.
The Hadean Varsa terrorists had established a solid foothold, erected fortifications, and were holding their ground within the capital cities.
Meanwhile, most other cities across the world were being harassed by subordinate organizations and syndicate groups.
There was also a lifeless body beside the old man, under investigation by his office guards.
Yet, Head Director Hale’s face showed no hint of panic—only an almost eerie calmness.
It seemed that he was waiting for something.
Soon, a clear holographic screen appeared, displaying the image of an equally old, blonde man.
“Good day, Lord Hale.” greeted Dweezel with an amiable smile.
“Sigh, I don’t think that is an appropriate greeting, Lord Dweezel.” the old director replied with a heavy sigh.
“Hmm?” Dweezel smiled oddly, a faintly confused expression crossing his face. “And why not? After all, by the end of today, the most notorious terrorist organization in the world will cease to exist.”
“Still…” the head director hesitated slightly. “People are dying, and the world has fallen into chaos. Even low-ranked cities and towns are being attacked by the bastards.”
“I… do agree,” Dweezel said with a frown. “But this is a necessary sacrifice to end things once and for all. Besides, I doubt the attacks on the other cities are significant.
I believe they’re just meant to overwhelm your hearts—the directors’ hearts—with stress and worry. If you dwell on such…well…I wouldn’t call them ‘trivial,’ but certainly, of lesser concern, thoughts, you’d be falling right into their trap, don’t you think?”
Dweezel’s words made sense, so in the end, Hale simply shrugged his shoulders and sighed one last time before changing the topic:
“So, they attacked today just as you said, Lord Dweezel. I am truly grateful for your help in maintaining world order.”

“Don’t mention it. I’m simply fulfilling my role in this world as someone with the power to do so,” Dweezel replied humbly. “So, how is the plan progressing, Lord Hale?”
The old director fell into a momentary silence, looking at his men and signaling for them to come out of the room.
He then stood up and gazed out the tall window to the right of his desk.
“Well, everything is going as smoothly as expected. I believe the heroes deployed in Valenzia are already searching for the core of Hadean Varsa’s device called Detain.
The directors are also sticking to the plan, making the terrorists believe they’re succeeding.
Well… except for Director Arram. As you know, that guy from Weaven is a bit more hot-headed than most. He almost failed his task, and the terrorists attacking his region are barely holding on. Nonetheless, I think the plan is a success.”
“Hahaha…” Dweezel chuckled softly at the report. “No matter. I’d say he’s done well to control himself. Well then, we shall speak again later, Lord Hale. I believe we will soon be under attack. Preparations on my end are complete; I trust yours are as well.”
A beeping sound echoed behind the head director, signaling that the call had been cut off.
Staring into the distance with an icy gaze, Hale thought to himself:
‘Now then, damned terrorists. Let’s see how you attack my city…’

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the world’s capital, around a hundred black-cloaked individuals moved between horrifyingly large hooves and claws, seemingly making a few last checks.
Monsters stood in chaotic rows and columns, roughly arranged based on their ranks and destructive capabilities.
Soon, the black-cloaked individuals’ mana communicators vibrated in unison.
The earth began to rumble weakly.
Eventually, the rumbling intensified, and after ten seconds, the world seemed to quake beneath those inside Yon Augenn City.
The citizens stopped what they were doing, their hearts racing as the blaring sound of the city’s emergency alarms rang louder than they’d ever heard before.
Shortly after, the monotonous voice of the mana-powered announcement speakers explained what was happening:
“Category 5 terrorist attack. I repeat, a Category 5 terrorist attack is incoming. Please head to the nearest bunkers from your current location. Assigned city guards will be stationed at every corner to guide you, so please, do not panic. I repeat, do not panic.”
And so, once more—and probably the last time of this magnitude—the world’s capital, the infallible city of Yon Augenn, plunged into chaos.
