Chapter 903: Crouching Tigers and Hidden Dragons
As one black-cloaked man rampaged inside the gates of the WAA Main Headquarters, similar things happened in other areas of Yon Augenn City.
The Chaos Unit advanced smoothly, almost as though they were still in the simulation practice and not the actual unsealing operation.
Commander Chaos, in particular, defeated his enemies faster than he did in all three simulations.
Elite guards, renowned guard captains, Yon Augennian Champions, titled adventurers, and even heroes—none of them mattered.
He defeated them all in mere seconds.
Of course, despite Chaos’ superb combat prowess, it was impossible for him to let all of his enemies live.
Thus, it was mostly the WAA agents who were spared.
All according to the old man’s plan.
Slaughtering their way through rows of elite and standard guards, the Chaos Unit reached the Hawkin Mansion in just seven minutes—beating their simulation record of eight and a half minutes.
They arrived a full minute and a half ahead of schedule.
Unexpectedly, there was another unit that was advancing almost as fast as the Chaos elites, despite their reputation.
The Tigren Unit was among the last Sanada would expect to be able to advance swiftly.
However, for some reason, they were on a roll.
It seemed that Maverick’s style pushed old Tigren to improve, and the old head somehow managed to do so before the actual unsealing operation.
The Tigren elites moved like thunder—rushing furiously at times, yet as slow and cautious as a turtle at others.
But no matter what combat style they used, they managed to consistently break through the enemy ranks.
Aggressive defense strategies, standard defensive formations, and ambushes from vigilante adventurer groups—all were predicted and thwarted by the old commander in the most efficient way possible.
It was undeniable that the old head improved massively from watching Maverick, unlike his other buddies.
This, combined with the shorter distance from their landing point to their destination—the Yon Augenn City Hall and teleportation formations—as well as the fact that most WAA agents had been dispatched to deal with Shye, allowed them to arrive in just six and a half minutes.
A full thirty seconds faster than the Chaos elites.
Although no one could tell what would happen in the final defense of the said key establishments, they were at least ahead of schedule.
For now…
Kirov, on the other hand, seemed to be struggling against an unusually huge number of WAA agents sent his way.
He was one of the old man’s smaller, hidden trump cards, as Kirov, although known in name to the WAA, should not have been known for his now-greater combat prowess.
At least, the organization expected that his explosive growth would remain unknown to the enemy.
With their new commander’s newfound strength and battle skills, Sanada hoped the Kirov Unit would swiftly seize the final broadcasting office, allowing him to finally execute one of his plans.
Unfortunately, the gods and goddesses of luck still seemed undecided on whether to smile upon them or their enemies.
One hero, three titled adventurers, and six champions had been sent to deal with Kirov and his men.
Strangely, this was more than the force sent against Chaos—just one hero, two titled adventurers, and four champions, despite the notorious commander’s reputation as a fierce combatant.
Did the enemy somehow learn about Kirov’s growth and foolishly overestimate him, neglecting one of Hadean Varsa’s main forces?

Surely, they wouldn’t be that stupid… right?
This was what confused Sanada.
But unfortunately, despite the slight unease caused by the enemy’s somewhat foolish move, what choice did his elites have but to proceed?
The old terrorist leader could only pray to the gods and goddesses he had desecrated with his soul art creations, hoping for the best.
Luckily for the old man, nothing bad happened in the next few minutes.
Chaos reached the Hawkin Mansion and was now fighting the Hawkin Guards alongside his men—more like wiping them out—while half of them were dealing with five hundred monstrous Soul Warriors.
Nothing was out of scope so far.
Tigren’s elites were now besieging the City Hall, after which, it would be easier for him to take control of the teleportation formation, cutting off the enemies’ path of orderly reinforcements.
Kirov was unfortunately starting to lag behind, but the delay was still within the old man’s expectations.
If there was anything not going according to plan, it was that the recently promoted commander and his vice commander, Fino, seemed to be a bit stronger than what they portrayed themselves to be at the simulation practice.
A few squadron captains of the Kirov elites were also stepping up, taking out champions in one-on-one duels, the stronger ones among them even taking on two at the same time, leaving the other captains free to go on an unhindered rampage.
Nevertheless, there were also a few capable guard captains in the opposing side, though inevitably not as many as those in the Kirov Unit.
It was a parade of crouching tigers and hidden dragons.
Even Dweezel was caught off guard by Kirov and his men, despite the warning from his mole.
In the end, spies could only relay information as accurately as they could, but it would depend on the recipient of that information how to take it.
From his reaction, it was evident that the old snake didn’t take the Kirov Unit as seriously as he should.
And that he was now sort of regretting it.
Still, Dweezel Hawkins had lots of cards to spare; two of his Hawklings were sent to deal with the situation, hoping to at least delay the Kirov Unit enough to disrupt the timing of the enemy units.
The old snake didn’t know what Sanada planned to do with the Broadcasting Offices, but to ensure that things would go in his favor as always, delaying the Kirov Unit was vital.
Once Shye Crowley has been dealt with, then the remaining agents could go and swiftly wipe out the entire unit.
Who knows?
Maybe if he was lucky, the curious specimen, Kirov, would end up in his hands.
The old snake could already think of a couple of experiments that could be handled by a physique of such quality.
