Chapter 904: Overly Excited Old Snake
There was, however, something that Dweezel failed to take into the equation, or at least didn’t put much attention to as much as he should’ve.
Shye Crowley.
His plan revolved around catching Shye Crowley and the bulk of terrorist elites landing at the WAA Main Headquarters off guard and wiping them out by concentrating a huge chunk of the WAA agents to their location.
He also believed that his preparations to deal with the monstrous dog of his rival were enough.
Surely, the old snake thought, that with the element of surprise and preparation on their side, the terrorists would quickly crumble.
And it was what would’ve happened, had the former Black Dawn Hero not exceeded the realms of what Dweezel could imagine.
A mighty Guard Captain Targon, Saorus Calamitas of the Heaven’s Wrath, Baradur Pentagon of the Holy Sword, and twelve titled adventurers, along with twenty champions, were a massive peak elite force.
No matter how one looked at it, Shye, along with three of his captains—who, by the way, were youngsters like him—should have had no way of resisting such a roster of mighty veterans.
There simply should’ve been no way for a human, regardless of whether he somehow managed to max out his mental and physical attributes to the peak of what a human could achieve despite his tender age, to resist more than three of the same kind of enemies.
The heroes, too, were close to the peak of what humans could handle in terms of attributes.
So…how the hell were they getting dominated?!
It was simply outrageous and illogical!
Even with the help of soul arts, one could only exceed the limits of the human body by a small margin, and the more one used soul arts to enhance their combat capabilities, the more their soul would be diluted by the souls of others, causing them to look and act nothing like a human.
One would end up as a monster.
However, from how Shye Crowley looked and acted, even spewing insults here and there, there was no way that his current prowess was the product of soul augmentations and overdriving.
If so, then how did he surpass the limits of the human body?
These were the series of questions Dweezel was trying to answer…as calmly as he could, despite his inner turmoil.
Despite knowing that Shye possessed the [Limitless Physique] talent he was looking for, his explosive attribute growth simply didn’t add up.
What secrets was that old rival of his still hiding?
How did Shye Crowley become so strong at such a young age without the aid of soul arts?
Did the young man have another talent that Sanada knew and he didn’t?
The old snake pondered, and pondered, and pondered even more, all while watching four separate screens showing the progress of the four different terrorist units attacking Yon Augenn City, the black king chess piece in his bony hands.
It was then that someone entered his office: a young woman with silver hair, blue eyes, and the facial features of an immortal ice fairy.
The pristine white robes she wore only served to reinforce this impression.
“Aeryth, you’re back.” the old snake said as he turned around, “I assume you already finished setting up the Black Dragon Gate’s soul barrier?”
“Yes, Dweezel. Do you have any more tasks for me?” “Wendy” replied in her usual icy cold manner.
However, her eyes lacked their usual luster, making them appear somewhat hollow.
“Hahaha, good,” Dweezel praised generously, pausing for a moment before continuing, “You see, I’m having trouble dealing with Sanada again, and it’s stressing me out. Old man things, you know?”
Aeryth didn’t reply, but strangely, the old snake took it well—even smiling a little.
“So… why don’t you sit beside me and rest in my arms, hmm? Perhaps that would help me relax and think of a solution,” Dweezel continued with a smile.

And Aeryth did just that.
Without resistance, she sat beside the old man, though still hesitant to rest in his lecherous embrace.
But with one decisive move, Dweezel effortlessly pulled her in, wrapping an arm around her shoulders—securing exactly what he wanted.
If Shye and the others were here, they would’ve gone on a rampage in utter fury.
“So then, Aeryth, you have the key to unlock the soul barrier. You must not leave this room until I permit it—understand?”
“Yes, Dweezel, I understand. I won’t leave without your permission.”
Aeryth’s reply sounded almost soulless, but the sick bastard seemed even more pleased—if anything, he found her even more attractive this way.
It had been quite some time since Dweezel brought Aeryth back to life, using Wendy Primrose as her vessel.
Unfortunately, with the thousands of preparations he had to complete for his final confrontation with his rival, he hadn’t found the time to “have fun” with his resurrected, extra-obedient beloved, as she, too, was helping him set up a few important soul fortifications.
For now, the old snake had to settle for simply enjoying her company.
Of course, he fully intended to “properly have fun” once everything was over. But first, he had to defeat his old adversary—once and for all.
He doubted Sanada would have the time to muster another resistance force once Hadean Varsa was destroyed.
After all, his eternal dominion would be realized soon—just one more year, or at most, a year and a half.
He had waited a lifetime for this—scheming, killing, and betraying those closest to him.
Another year and a half was nothing.
“Good, Aeryth. Just listen to me, and in another year, you will be the queen of an everlasting empire! Hahahaha! Together, we shall rule for eternity!” The old snake proclaimed with endless passion.
“Cough…cough…”
‘Sh*t…I got too excited…’
“A-Aeryth, get me my water.”
“Here, Dweezel…Yes, I shall be your queen…”
Dweezel wanted to laugh heartily after hearing Aeryth’s obedient reply, but could not do so for fear of his heart bursting.
It would be a tragedy if he died in such a stupid way.
With a deep breath, the old snake calmed himself down, looking at Aeryth once more:
“Aeryth, soon a young man will arrive to secure the soul barrier’s key. Once he does, contact me and give him the key. Understood?”
“Understood, Dweezel.”
“Good. Well then, my sweet Aeryth, I’ll leave for a while to deal with Sanada. Await my victorious return. You stay here and wait for the young man.”
