Chapter 911: Crowley~
Metallic sounds echoed through the hallways as thousands of seemingly furious footsteps marched in a single direction.
Realizing that the Soul Warriors—and whatever their lesser versions were called—were on the move to kill them, the old hairs on Tigren’s body stood on end.
“Gather around Black Dawn!!” he barked.
In this seemingly inescapable tide of unholy warriors, nothing was wiser than staying close to the strongest among them.
And that person was undoubtedly Shye.
“Commander, is the camaraderie and brotherhood fake? I know you’re quite the peculiar one, but do your brothers from the Chaos Unit not even have the tiniest space in your heart?! How could you do this for fun?!” Vice Commander Feather growled in a low roar, clenching his tang dao tightly.
The Tigren elites were already retreating, hoping to position themselves close to Black Dawn in the desperate hope that he could somehow carve out a path of escape for them.
The Chaos elites, on the other hand, hesitated—torn between following suit or standing their ground. If they chose to flee, they would be leaving their Vice Commander behind.
He was all they had now that their very own commander had turned traitor.
Chaos, strangely, did not reply and simply stared at Feather with a subtle smile on his face, his thoughts a mystery.
The increasingly furious vice commander was about to demand an answer, but before he could, he was pulled by one of his squadron captains.
“Vice Commander! Let’s retreat with the Tigren Unit for now! Survive first—we can discuss the details later!” the captain urged, gripping Feather’s wrist tightly and pulling him back.
For a second, the captain failed to pull the physically stronger vice commander.
Fortunately, being the logical person he was, Feather reluctantly agreed in the end, dashing away with the captain while throwing one last resentful glance toward his former commander.
Chaos merely stared at him right back as hundreds of Soul Warriors and Lesser Soul Warriors charged past him.
“Geezer, don’t worry about this side. Help Feather instead.” Shye said to Tigren, speaking to the old commander for the first time.
“Wha…you dare call me geezer?! Ahh…whatever! I’ll allow it this once!” the old commander scowled before turning around and running off to help the Chaos Unit’s vice commander front the other end of their formation.
Shye guarded the rear while Tigren and Feather held the front, their stronger elites positioned beside them and the weaker ones following behind.
If not for the relatively narrow hallway they were fighting in, defending against the onslaught of the soul army would have been disastrous.
Whether Chaos had intentionally chosen this location remained a mystery.
Feather wanted to believe there was still a trace of compassion in the lunatic’s heart for his former comrades—no matter how unlikely it seemed.
Soon, the tide of soul-empowered warriors arrived, clashing with the cornered terrorists.
The Soul Warriors were faster than the lesser ones, and so arrived first.
They brandished their uniform greatswords and two-handed axes at the line of elites.
Those who struck at Feather were slain before their weapons could even reach him—their heads or arms severed in an instant, sending blood, a shade darker than normal, spurting from their modified bodies.
Tigren tried to do the same, but he unfortunately wasn’t as fast as the vice commander of the Chaos Unit.
So, after killing two Soul Warriors, he had no choice but to muster a simple defense against the third.
Nonetheless, the old head held his ground.
This gave his elites some much-needed breathing room.
The Soul Warriors battered the Hadean Varsa ranks like a raging tide, but with their fiercest warriors holding the frontline, they held like fortified walls.

At the center of their formation were the spellcasters and archers, firing volleys of ice, fire, earth, wind, and thunder to destroy rows of grouped-up enemies.
There were at least three thousand of them, and even if they were outnumbered more than three to one—a majority of them devastated by their commander’s treachery—their formations seemed impenetrable, especially with three mighty commanders holding the front line.
The enemies, unfortunately, also had theirs.
Upon realizing that the Soul Warriors and their lesser versions were somehow failing to break through the terrorists’ ranks, Chaos, the two Hawklings, Balkan, and the Hawkin Group Elites immediately sprang into action.
Chaos disappeared in the shadows.
Meanwhile, Balkan and the two Hawklings opted for a three-on-three battle against Feather, old Tigren, and the old head’s vice commander, Stonecold.
The two Hawklings took on the two vice commanders while Balkan fought the geezer.
Hawkin Guard Captain Balkan, like Commander Tigren, was a veteran, but he was a bit younger and would probably last longer in a fight.
Furthermore, the bastard was acting strange and seemed tireless.
The two Hawklings, on the other hand, were in different situations. One was doing rather well against Stonecold, dominating the battle by a small margin.
As for the other…
Thirteenth Hawkling was barely holding on to dear life against a furious and resentful Vice Commander Feather.
Nonetheless, it didn’t seem like he would lose too quickly.
Swords clanged as different kinds collided, their wielders eager to prove their superiority—not for fame or reputation, but for survival and victory.
The head figures of their respective sides tried to take the lives of their adversaries, but things weren’t so easy.
And so, for a long while, the battle between the Hawkin Group’s army of forbidden creations and elites raged on, neither side budging.
But of course, as in any battle, the outcome of the clash between the strongest would greatly affect the morale of their comrades, likely giving one side the momentum to steamroll the other.
The battle that would soon matter most began, as Shye, ferociously slaying Soul Warriors, felt a strange sensation from behind.
One could be certain it wasn’t danger.
Yet, this was exactly why he hurriedly turned around to face the incoming attack, which seemed to come from his own side.
After all, what else could be approaching him at such otherworldly speeds?
Indeed. It was Chaos with a stupid smile on his face.
