Chapter 914: A Most Surprising Reunion
“C-Commander Alicia, the lines are crumbling!” exclaimed Seira as she defended herself from the blades of a WAA warrior.
The Black Dawn elites are doing way better than the Alicia elites, but the midget couldn’t help but be alarmed by the situation of their comrades.
They were falling left and right—slaughtered as their exhausted selves failed to raise their swords and shields to defend.
The Alicia Unit was barely holding on under the heavy assault from the WAA reinforcements from other regions.
Most of their fortifications had been destroyed, and only their resolve to see things through to the end kept them alive.
If not for the brief respite provided by the sudden WAA call that halted the enemy attack for a few seconds, more would have died.
The precious seconds gave most of the Alicia Unit enough time to down a potion or two—stamina potions, to be exact.
Although many were wounded in various ways, the most lethal issue they faced was their exhausted stamina reserves.
They could barely lift their weapons and shields to fight.
With a stamina potion, they could last a few more minutes, though they still needed to fight smartly to survive.
Alicia, unfortunately, was busy fighting Grover, who suddenly became way more competent in fighting than what he was known for in the organization.
She didn’t even have time to respond to Seira.
Amidst the chaotic ranks of the WAA adventurer volunteer army, however, one short man kept his ears on high alert.
He was the one who heard Seira’s voice.
The young man was firing spells from the backline, trying to take out as many terrorists as he could.
However, he only targeted the raiders, fully aware that his abilities weren’t enough to take down the elite terrorists.
He was simply too young to accomplish such feats, and not everyone was equally talented.
Nonetheless, though he was far less talented than Shye’s crew, the young man was still fairly talented in his own right.
The reason this young man joined the volunteer army despite being too weak was to look for someone: a woman who fascinated him in the past and made him vow to capture her heart one day.
His reason would be considered stupid and shallow by others, but Chiizai didn’t care.
He had been deeply smitten by the older Seira Ramah ever since their first meeting at the Raven’s Blade Balkrow branch.
He pushed himself every day, struggling to catch up to her, but alas!
By the time he reached the guild’s main branch, Seira had already vanished, disappearing into the depths of Hadean Varsa’s headquarters alongside her boss, Shye Crowley.
Still, Chiizai didn’t give up on the hope of reuniting with her one day. He hoped—prayed—that they would meet again.
He planned to hear her side of the story before judging why she joined the “dark side.”
And to do that, he had to bravely step onto the battlefield—all for a small chance to cross paths with her once more.
Luckily, it seemed that the gods and goddesses of luck had bestowed a blessing upon him today.
Upon hearing Seira’s voice, Chiizai immediately stopped caring about anything else and sprinted toward her.
He was quite fortunate that the grape-haired midget was on the front lines.
“Squadron Captain Seira, you’re too far out! Retreat!” exclaimed Alicia’s vice commander, realizing the short captain was out of position.

Soon, her fears were realized as the warriors surrounding her were either pushed back or killed, leaving her alone in the midst of the enemy ranks.
“C-Captain Seira!”
“Captain!!” The Black Dawn warriors exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with worry.
‘S-Shit! I might be in a bad spot…’ the midget thought, swatting away a fireball aimed at her and raising her greatsword horizontally to block a downward chop from a WAA guard captain.
She successfully managed to defend herself.
However, her current position left her vulnerable.
Soon, another WAA warrior lunged forward, stabbing his sword toward Seira’s exposed heart, aiming to end her with one vicious strike.
It was then that a red-robed young man—a shorty like Seira—appeared in the sword’s way, taking the hit for her.
“Puhaahk!”
Chiizai vomited blood as the sword pierced through his forearm, embedding itself deep in the right side of his body.
“Y-You crazy bastard! Who are you?! Where did you come from?!” the stupefied guard captain exclaimed.
Unfortunately, the mage had no energy to respond, collapsing onto his back as the guard captain withdrew his sword, preparing to strike at Seira again.
It was then that a high-ranking WAA guard captain suddenly shouted,
“Stop!! Orders from Lord Hale!! Everyone cease attacking Hadean Varsa immediately!! I repeat: Ceasefire!!”
The strange order echoed across the battlefield, unbelievably halting everyone in their tracks.
This included the guard captain who had been milliseconds away from attacking Seira again.
Everyone’s attention naturally shifted to the high-ranking guard captain relaying Hale’s orders, except for two individuals—two short ones, to be exact.
Seira suddenly remembered the guy who appeared in front of him to receive the strike for him, gazing down at his collapsed and dying figure on the ground.
Her eyes widened as she recognized the short figure: the persistent bastard who kept hitting on her back at the Balkrow Branch.
“Chiizai?! What the hell are you doing here?! You’re too weak for a battle of this scale!”
The young man tried to answer, but he could only do so by vomiting blood, the life in his eyes gradually fading.
“N-Never mind, don’t answer. H-Hey, someone—get a healer over here! Heal this guy!”
For a while, Seira managed her own situation, while Alicia, the WAA agents, and the guard captains dealt with theirs.
The high-ranking guard captain patiently explained everything to the WAA Heroes, who then turned to Alicia, though their faces were etched with frowns.
They didn’t like what they had learned.
In fact, they still found it hard to believe.
Unfortunately, the commander they needed to talk to was…still busy at the moment.
