Chapter 915: New Alliance
“Stand down, old fool! Accept the truth!” Alicia roared once more, parrying the old traitor’s blow and forcing it into the ground.
After the WAA’s sudden call, the WAA defenders, along with the Hadean Varsa elites and raiders, abruptly halted their fight.
Meanwhile, Grover suddenly snapped, his actions turning erratic.
Even though he was now alone in his futile struggle, he continued his relentless attempts to kill Alicia.
“L-Lord Grover, p-please stand down! T-This is Lord Hale’s order!” a high-ranking WAA guard captain exclaimed, desperately trying to intervene in the clash between two peak-tier combatants.
“Never!! These bastards… these bastards killed my son! How could they be trusted?! Lord Hale has simply been brainwashed! I’ll handle this myself and teach them a lesson!” Grover snarled, his voice laced with madness.
“L-Lord Grover!!”
No matter what the guard captain did, nothing worked.
Fortunately, a voice rang out beside him—one that made the ex-titled adventurer flinch. It was a voice that commanded attention.
“Grover, will you stop and listen, or must I order the agents to capture you?”
It was only after realizing that Hale personally came that Grover stopped.
The retired titled adventurer tightened his grip on his shortsword, his body trembling as a storm of emotions crashed over him like a raging tide.
He hated Sanada with a passion, yet the organization he had tirelessly served now seemed poised to ally with his greatest enemy—leaving him utterly lost.
Grover was finally under control, but Hale wasn’t happy one bit.
He knew why the guy was going crazy.
Though he wanted to help the loyal man achieve his personal revenge, now was not the time— the world was at stake.
Hale would, of course, choose the greater good.
Grover would have to settle the score with Sanada once this whole thing is over.
“I’m sorry, Grover. I know this is difficult for you, but I’ve seen enough—Sanada was telling the truth. Dweezel was behind everything. My only regret is that, like everyone else, he controlled me like a puppet and played me like a fiddle…” the head director apologized and admitted truthfully, his expression turning cold soon after.
“If you don’t want to help, that’s fine. But I suggest you reconsider—because that pretentious old snake, Dweezel Hawkins, is the one truly responsible for your son’s fate. He’s the one you should be seeking revenge against.”
It didn’t seem like Grover could decide soon.
Hence, Hale lightly sighed and gave him a tap on the shoulder before turning to Commander Alicia.
“Alicia…Crowley, correct?” the head director asked. “I understand the situation now and I would have to leave soon to inform Belford and the other directors. Can you please ask your men to deactivate your jamming devices and make it easier for me to inform my other comrades?”
Alicia remained silent for a moment, staring into the eyes of the man who had once made their lives difficult.
She, too, never expected they would become allies—it felt almost like a dream.
The fact that she could now speak with Hale Eversong, the Head Director of the WAA’s board of directors, meant she would no longer be seen as a filthy terrorist in the eyes of the public.
At least not when everything’s over.
However, this didn’t mean they had already won.
The next moment, Alicia quickly responded, fully aware that some of her comrades out there might be clinging to life by a thread:
“Yes, Lord Hale,” she replied, bowing. “Our leader has already coordinated with the other commanders and informed them of the conversion operation’s success. The communication jamming devices should be deactivated soon.”

As much as Alicia wanted to order her daughter to deactivate Detain so they could help Shye and Maverick in Yon Augenn, she hesitated.
She couldn’t issue the command too lightly—not without confirmation that all WAA agents had received word of the new alliances.
Acting too soon might create more problems for those still fighting in Yon Augenn.
Hale also understood this, so he simply nodded, and as soon as a purple translucent dome visibly disappeared from the stacks of jamming domes in Valenzia City, he pulled out his mana communicator, summoning all directors to the Valenzia City Hall.
Although explaining things through the phone would be faster, it was better to explain everything to them face-to-face.
The WAA was a vast organization with control spread across all ten regions.
They couldn’t move as quickly as Hadean Varsa, not with ten directors on the board—each one strong-willed in their own way.
Alicia understood and respected this, so in the meantime, she decided to regroup with the other commanders and prepare their strike force to assist the Yon Augenn Strike Force as soon as confirmation from Hale was received.
The WAA Head Director left moments later, sprinting alone toward the WAA Valenzia Headquarters.
The terrorists could only watch in awe as the old man moved with unbelievable speed for someone his age.
His destination wasn’t far.
In just a minute, Hale arrived at the Valenzia Headquarters.
He gazed down from the roof of a nearby building.
Fortunately, it seemed most of their agents in Valenzia had already received the news.
The battle appeared to have stopped for a while, as the black-cloaked men and WAA reinforcements simply stared at each other, both sides unsure of what to do next.
Seeing that it was safe, the old man jumped down, catching everyone’s attention.
“L-Lord Hale! You’re here!” exclaimed a Yon Augennian champion initially sent to retake Valenzia.
The old director simply nodded in acknowledgment before approaching Ian, his gaze clouded with mixed emotions.
At first, he had felt nothing but disgust and disbelief at Shye and his crew’s defection to the terrorists.
The thought of them using their powers for unlawful deeds had sickened him.
He had convinced himself that they must have been lured in by Hadean Varsa’s silver tongue, seduced by promises of power or indulgence.
And to Hale, there was nothing more repugnant than those who abandoned duty for personal gain.
Yet now, standing before them after uncovering the truth—their willingness to be scorned by the very people they sought to protect—he felt something unexpected.
Shame.
Sanada had reached out to him countless times, but each attempt had been met with silence.
Hale had refused to listen, convinced that nothing could leave his old comrade’s mouth but the vilest, most treacherous of lies.
He felt ashamed that someone fifty years his junior had shown more open-mindedness than he ever had.
But Hale was never one to dwell on regret. If there was a wrong to be righted, he would do so without hesitation.
He was ready to take accountability—for siding with the true enemy, for his ignorance, for failing in his duty as the world’s leader.
“Welcome, Lord Hale,” Ian said with a slight bow. “Lord Belford is waiting inside.”
They had only met once in the past, but the former scout hero had formed a good impression of the old man.
His bow was one of genuine respect—a stark contrast to the shame weighing down the head director’s heart as he faced the young man.
With a nod, Hale entered the building, marking the dawn of new alliances.
