Chapter 929: MIA
An intense silence drowned the entire metallic hallway as Alexander, Primo, and Hathor continued staring at the corpse.
After a few moments, Alexander asked coldly: “I assume the S/D-Tracer is active?”
It was, so Primo and Hathor were able to confidently answer in unison: “Yes, Lord Father.”
An icy smirk graced the corners of Dweezel’s mouth.
Successfully destroying the young hero’s soul after a fierce battle a few years ago, the now-young old snake was back in his prime.
While he wasn’t too adept in the ways of the dagger, he at least had some background in using one.
He managed to wrestle time back for himself after decades of relentless effort and sacrifice, and now, he had plenty of it.
Mastering the ways of a scout could be accomplished in a year or two. Once he won this battle, conquered the world, and mastered fighting with his new weapon and skills in a year or two, he would be unstoppable.
Provided that he could eliminate Shye Crowley in this very war, of course.
The darned young man was the only threat to him and his eternal rule.
He was around eighty-five percent sure that Sanada would die after such grievous wounds, but, either way, it didn’t matter.
The old man was on limited time.
Plus, he was a mage.
Dweezel could defeat him any day should his old rival dare to challenge him again in the future.
Shye Crowley, on the contrary, had a limitless physique and his strange, explosive growth rate.
While Alexander’s body had a talent similar to Shye’s it was inevitably inferior and would probably only cap around two hundred points higher than the limits of a human.
He would never be able to grow without limits like the Black Dawn Hero.
And so, Shye Crowley must be killed.
Dweezel had naturally long prepared for this moment, and the S/D-tracer—the device he planned to utilize to catch his target off-guard, was now on the move.
Shye’s dark swap was as fast as light, and the swap with the doppelganger was almost instantaneous, but so was the core of the S/D tracer.
It followed the small shadow to locate where Shye was.
Then, once the location was secured, the device would activate a silent teleportation formation that could teleport seven individuals to its location.
The target—Shye Crowley—was wounded and had to take care of a dying old man.
With Dweezel himself taking one of the seven teleportation spots—Primo, Hathor, Chaos, and a few other competent Hawklings joining him—he could finally slay the one and only threat to his rule.
His nature was that of ensuring that everything would go according to plan.
Hence, Dweezel, despite the overwhelming power coursing through his now youthful frame, prepared a few more surprises to ensure that his young adversary would fall.
He would never take his chances.
Not against an infuriating cursed roach that refused to die and had the capability to far surpass him in the future.
Soon, Seventeenth Hawkling—Leffen Hawkins, who was also the young man who pretended to be Maia’s lover while slowly poisoning her mind—left his hiding spot inside one of the hollow partitions of the wall.
Shye detected him long ago, but he had no time to see what the hell was inside the hidden compartment.

Leffen carried a small device that resembled a pyramid as he walked closer to his Lord Father—a suppressed scowl on his face.
The young man was not happy with the role assigned to him.
How would he have a chance to prove himself worthy of being the heir if his task was to carry a damn device and hide on random crevices like a cursed, cowardly crab?!
The small, purple pyramid that had separated tips and a dark core in the middle, however, was not just some random device.
It was their key to finally killing Shye Crowley, the S/D-tracer.
Had Leffen failed in his task to simply stay out of the target’s sight while staying in range, Dweezel would’ve personally killed him.
He fortunately didn’t.
Arriving close to his Lord Father’s position, Leffen carefully placed the device on the ground, forced to step away like some random aide shortly after, which dissatisfied the young man further.
He wasn’t included in one of the seven slots.
Leffen was a skilled combatant, especially for someone his age, and he had even surpassed quite a bit of his half-siblings in terms of combat competency.
Unfortunately, he was only ninth in the current power rankings in Dweezel’s conniving mind.
He would not be included in the Shye Crowley hunting party unless a miracle happened and pigs somehow grew wings and managed to fly.
Despite Leffen’s infuriatingly handsome face and petty disposition, there was a word one could describe him: lucky.
The S/D-tracer’s core soon managed to detect where Shye was, and the silent teleportation formation activated.
Dweezel and six others had to enter the formation within thirty seconds, as the portal would immediately close afterward.
And so, unhesitatingly, the immortal youngster listed six names.
…But only five responded.
There were still twenty seconds, so there was no rush.
“Chaos, what are you doing? Get in position, now!” Dweezel ordered in an icy tone.
The traitorous commander should still be hiding in the space, the void, and the shadows, making it extremely hard for Shye to detect him earlier.
But strangely, he wasn’t responding.
Dweezel frowned. The next moment, he subtly trembled, a grim realization dawning upon him.
It has been quite a while since Chaos stopped attacking…
Time was ticking, Dweezel had to decide what to do—and fast.
Sure, killing Shye Crowley was of utmost importance, and in ninety-nine situations out of a hundred, he would choose to personally lead the hunting party.
But what happened just had to be the one that required him to give the role to someone else.
After all, what else could be more pressing than the unsealing of the Black Dragon?
He could bid his dreams of eternal rule goodbye should the monstrous deity escape.
