Chapter 930: Snake on the Backfoot
In the dimly lit metallic hallways, a black-haired young man dashed frantically, jumping from shadow to shadow with a mana communicator in hand.
Dweezel had no idea where the hell Chaos was, which, as far as he was concerned, was a cause for extreme worry.
He did not know why the treacherous terrorist commander suddenly jumped ship at the last moment and joined his side.
However, the sincerity the bastard showed, which included suddenly ratting out most, if not all, of Sanada’s plans, along with participating in the entrapment of Shye Crowley, made him reconsider taking the Hadean Varsa Commander under his wing.
Chaos was undeniably a mighty individual who was probably stronger in combat than even Primo—his firstborn.
He would be a decent addition to his chess pieces—a high-ranking piece at that.
If everything the eccentric commander said was a lie, then the guy wouldn’t allow himself to be subjected to an orb of truth interrogation.
Since he did, and he answered all of the questions truthfully, Dweezel believed that Chaos simply wanted a position in his eternal kingdom.
It was a small price to pay in exchange for absolute victory.
And so, despite his extremely cautious and meticulous nature, Dweezel was swayed.
He allowed the treacherous commander to join his ranks.
Looking back, the immortal snake couldn’t help but regret his decisions.
Did the bastard just sell his entire unit, Shye Crowley, and one of his long-time comrades—Tigren, in exchange for this very moment to double-cross him and act on Sanada’s goal at the very last moment?
Was this Chaos’ vicious plan?!
Heck, even the devil himself would be in utter awe of such a heartless plan.
Young Dweezel seethed in rage.
To make matters worse, the situation outside seemed to be deteriorating quickly.
Despite his abomination army’s initial success in delaying and even pushing back the coalition army, they were now apparently decisively losing due to the sudden one-thousand-strong blue ogre army that appeared out of nowhere, as per one of the Hawklings assigned to ensure the victory of his army of forbidden creations.
Hence, Dweezel was utterly stressed out.
Chaos was still on the loose—his intentions unknown; he couldn’t personally lead hunting down Shye Crowley; his abomination army was losing; worse, a four-hundred-strong dragon army had appeared out of nowhere, accompanied by strange corpses that were somehow both dead and alive, wreaking havoc among the ranks of his Soul Warrior and Abomination Army.
“Wretches, all of them!!” Dweezel couldn’t help but curse in frustration.
This was the first time things went this horribly wrong for him, despite all his preparations.
Even sealing the Black Dragon of Destruction wasn’t this difficult!
‘Nevermind, if they want to wreck my kingdom before handing it over, then fine, let’s destroy it all. I shall settle with rebuilding it from scratch…’ the young immortal thought, his chest heaving up and down.
While sprinting full-throttle, Dweezel swiftly typed in a few weird code combinations in the mana communicator, sent it to one of his underlings, and returned the device to his spatial bag.
This was a mysterious order that only a few within his organization knew the meaning of.
This…was his solution to his losing army.
As for Chaos, he couldn’t care less where the bastard was, as long as the treacherous commander was not in the Black Dragon Gate and had somehow managed to abduct Aeryth and unlock the soul barrier.
Such a train of thought could be considered paranoid, but this very same characteristic of his saved his plans and had inched him closer to his goal more than a dozen times in the past.
So, now, he was on the way to guard the Black Dragon Gate.

In short, the now-young snake’s plan was to secure his beloved Aeryth, personally guard the Black Dragon Gate and ensure it was “Chaos-free,” and wait for his “ace” to win the battle for him.
If his sons could bring him Shye Crowley’s head, then it was a most welcome bonus.
And so, with an anxious heart, Dweezel continued on his way, deeper and deeper into the Hawkin Group Headquarters.

An apocalyptic fireball descended from the heavens, burning and reaping the lives of more than a hundred warriors whose eyes were bleak and empty.
The cataclysmic scenes didn’t stop there.
The next second, elemental projectiles, all larger than what mere humans could manage to conjure, rained down upon the Soul Warrior and Abomination armies.
Fireballs and thunder rays scorched the forbidden creations, wind cutters sliced them in half, and icicle rains impaled them to the ground.
Just from the dragons, Dweezel’s army is being destroyed by the second.
But then there was also Nookie.
The little necrollin was over the moon at being finally able to prove his worth to his master.
Initially, Nookie was worried that Shye wouldn’t use him, especially since the battle had suddenly been tipped in the favor of their allies.
At least that’s what the little guy—hiding in the void like Sanada—was able to deduce after Big Bruce and his ogres attacked.
Fortunately, his master was truly the smartest.
‘One should never be overconfident in battle!’ was what the little imp believed, though a significant part of it was just Nookie wanting some action.
After all, why train so much when he wouldn’t be used?
He didn’t want to remain a hidden force. He wanted to show off, too! To his master, at the very least.
And so, Nookie did.
Like a maestro of an orchestra, the little imp masterfully waved his hands around, controlling every corpse puppet—both big and small—like a modern-day supercomputer.
They fired exploding elemental spheres, wind cutters, obliteration rays, and more—as if they were perfectly alive.
Others used their sharp claws and fangs to tear through their targets, so animated that they even roared proudly after taking down a group of enemies.
Of course, it was their master puppeteer who made them do so.
Nookie was strangely enthusiastic about wreaking havoc on human settlements.
The corpse puppets reaped the lives of thousands of Soul Warriors and hundreds of abominations, gradually thinning the enemy ranks.
It was then that a strange yet majestic roar—reminiscent of both dragons and divine melodies—echoed from the distant mountains, carrying an almost heavenly quality.
Even Menas’ imperial roar couldn’t be heard from so far away with such clarity.
