Chapter 934: An Emperor’s Growth
In the gloomy skies of Yon Augenn City, two massive draconians continued their brutal duel.
However, it was quite evident that one was stronger than the other.
Menas huffed and puffed in exhaustion.
A good portion of his vermillion scales had been shattered, and he bore several moderate to deep claw and fang wounds.
Although he didn’t seem like he would fall soon, victory was nowhere in sight either.
Menas had only managed to land two vicious claw attacks on the deity—both shattered her divine scales, but neither managed to pierce her tough, demi-godly flesh.
Strangely, though, the emperor had a terrifying smile on his draconic face.
“Strong! You are strong, Divine One! By far, you are the strongest among those I fought!” Menas praised generously.
The White Dragon of Creation, however, wasn’t too pleased, believing that the mortal draconian in front of her was being audacious again.
She didn’t see Menas as kin.
After all, while she had the form of a dragon, she, in fact, was a divine spirit sent by the gods and goddesses to watch over this world.
There was no comparison at all in her mind.
And no mortal should even dare!
Sadly, it didn’t seem like the White Dragon of Creation was thinking straight.
Her usual grace and understanding nature were gone, replaced by a bleak, purple madness reflected in her slightly stiff vertical pupils.
In her mind, she was merely maintaining order—fulfilling the eternal duty entrusted to her by the gods and goddesses who had created her from fragments of their divinities.
By slaughtering the cursed mortals wreaking havoc upon her lands, that is.
Her twin was nowhere to be found, likely having deserted his duty, so she took it upon herself to fulfill it.
If the mortals would only destroy the gift given to them by the gods and goddesses, then they need not exist anymore.
This was what was going on inside the divine deity’s head at the moment—the madness plaguing her very soul and divinity.
Furious, the White Dragon of Creation opened her maw and roared skyward, summoning ten enormous golden magic circles in the dark gray sky above.
From these circles, ten strange, multicolored rocks descended.
Each had a massive hole at its center.
The next moment, obliterating rays of light shot from the holes, piercing through the air straight toward Menas.
The Fire Dragon Emperor opened his maw in response, summoning a single, enormous vermillion magic circle a few meters ahead.
A hyper-focused incinerating ray of flames then erupted from it, clashing against the incoming light.
To the emperor’s utter shock and disbelief, his attack managed to destroy only two of the rays before being overpowered by the third, scattering into vermillion orbs of energy.
The remaining seven obliteration rays, along with the residual energy of the eighth, continued their course toward the emperor, aiming to pierce through his scales and flesh.
‘Curses… I guess I lost again this time…’ thought Menas.
He had tried everything, but nothing worked. Still, he could accept his defeat—and even his death—in peace.

At least he had fallen in battle against a deity—an achievement he knew only he could claim.
Menas was confident that no other draconian would even dare to face the White Dragon of Creation or the Black Dragon of Destruction in battle.
He had made history, and for that, he was extremely satisfied.
Just as the emperor accepted his demise, dozens of massive blurs in varying colors streaked past him, colliding with the obliterating rays of light.
The impact weakened them just enough for his scales to withstand the residual force.
Moments later, massive figures whooshed past him, taking a protective stance in front of him.
“Tarintus? What are you doing? Didn’t I tell you to stand back?” Menas said, slightly displeased.
“Emperor, you are no longer an elder dragon. Your flight depends on you, and you, in turn, should depend on us sometimes,” Tarintus said, his tone also laced with displeasure.]
“The divine deity is clearly impossible to handle in a duel, but there are hundreds of us. We are part of your strength—so why hesitate to use us? If the White Dragon of Creation is capable of subduing such a massive flight, then she should’ve. Fighting alongside your subordinates isn’t cowardice, Emperor Menas.”
This was exactly the thought that prevented Menas from asking for help.
He, during his days as an elder dragon, thought that the other emperors were cowards for not daring to fight the adversary themselves—for hiding behind their subordinates.
Now, he realized that his resentment, anger, and frustration stemmed from his inability to subdue other dragons and defeat rival emperors to ascend.
Looking back on his ascension battle against the Wind Dragon Emperor, Zephyrus, Menas finally understood the departed emperor’s actions.
Zephyrus had fought with full awareness of his own abilities, simply playing to his strengths.
Menas admitted he had been somewhat in the wrong for humiliating Zephyrus, though much of it had been the result of years of bitterness from his past failures and near-death experiences.
But now, he was ready to move forward—to exercise his rights as an emperor.
Indeed.
He now had a flight to support him—one he had subdued through his own strength.
They were, without a doubt, part of his power.
After all, what was an emperor without troops to command?
“You hateful old thunder dragon…” Menas grinned. “Fine, then. If you fools are so eager to die, let us die together—gloriously—in battle against a deity!”
With a roar of defiance and command, the Fire Dragon Emperor ordered his troops to charge forward, leaving Dweezel’s forbidden creations to the little imp and the fat ogres.
Menas’ flight of dragons had initially been scared of the deity.
However, after witnessing their emperor courageously duel the deity—fighting to emerge victorious despite successive defeats and a bleak future—something ignited within the dragons’ hearts.
They no longer feared the towering deity of creation.
What they feared was losing their magnificent, unparalleled emperor—knowing full well that none could ever be like Menas.
They would either win or perish alongside him, sharing in his glory and standing by him until the very end.
And so, the historical battle between the one of the greatest flight of dragons and the draconic deity continued.
