Chapter 936: A Dweezel Hawkins Move
In front of a colossal black double gate adorned with intricate carvings of random, ancient runes and an enormous dragon head at its center, a black-haired young man stood with a deep frown and a slightly racing heart.
Dweezel had already sensed two people inside.
What he feared had come true—Chaos had likely kidnapped his beloved Aeryth and brought her inside to unlock the barrier and unseal the Black Dragon of Destruction.
He wasn’t scared of the treacherous bastard accomplishing the latter.
Dweezel had already retrieved the key from Aeryth earlier, after all. He was sure that Chaos wouldn’t be able to unlock the soul barrier.
What Dweezel feared was the bastard harming his beloved.
If Chaos had so much as laid a finger on Aeryth—metaphorically, of course—Dweezel would not stop until he caught the bastard and made him suffer for eternity.
He would even go so far as to make Chaos immortal like himself, just to ensure his torment lasted another lifetime.
After taking a deep breath, Dweezel stepped forward. The colossal gates creaked open with a metallic groan.
His eyes then turned even colder as he witnessed the haunting scene in front of him—the sharp point of a dagger mere millimeters away from the neck of his perfect dearest.
Dweezel gritted his teeth so hard that they scraped together with an audible gnash.
Chaos smiled even wider, satisfied with himself.
Wasn’t he already the ultimate winner here?
After all, everything was in shambles—just as he wanted, and nothing had gone according to the plans of either side.
Both Sanada and Dweezel were paying far more than they had intended.
Just when one side thought they were on the verge of victory, he would ruin their plans!
Simply lovely!
“Bastard…speak! What do you want?!” Dweezel roared.
“Hahahaha!” Chaos laughed in response. “Yes, give me more of those sweet reactions, Dweezel Hawkins, former hero of the Golden Sun.”
The treacherous Hadean Varsa Commander paused for a moment, sliding his dagger along Aeryth’s pretty face before continuing:
“Isn’t what I want already obvious? Sigh… and here I thought you were the smartest!
You always reprimand your sons and call them incompetent for acting on emotions, don’t you? My, what a hypocrite you are! Look at you—seething with anger just because I have your beloved little fake immortal in my hands.
“Her reactions were so inhuman they almost made me throw up in disgust! After all those years of preparation, is this really the best you could create? Pathetic, you’re simply pathetic, Dweezel Hawkins!”
Chaos then shook his head in disappointment, like a father scolding his son, further aggravating the conniving snake to no end.
Dweezel quickly realized that the treacherous commander was merely trying to provoke him, though.
He refused to give the bastard further satisfaction.
Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself, his expression returning to a cold, deadpan state.
“Stop talking in circles and just tell me what you want.”
“How about I tell you what I found out first?” Chaos replied mysteriously.
Dweezel had a sinking feeling he already knew what the bastard was implying, leaving him momentarily speechless.

Chaos, however, didn’t bother waiting for a response, instead launching into his discovery with unsettling enthusiasm.
“So, here’s what I found out: you’re buying time!”
Indeed, Dweezel was buying time.
But the fact that the most unpredictable bastard had caught on was anything but reassuring.
“Let’s see…” Chaos continued.
“Perhaps you’ve already abandoned your quest for world domination? Or maybe you’ve decided to postpone it to a later date?
Oh? Could it be that you’re planning to transfer the sealed Black Dragon of Destruction somewhere no one would ever find it?
And then, you’d slowly harvest its essence, extending your life for countless generations—switching from body to body while both Sanada and Shye Crowley wither away from old age!
Now that would be a truly cowardly yet efficient move. A classic ‘Dweezel Hawkins move,’ if I do say so myself.”
Dweezel clenched his fists, gritting his teeth at Chaos’s words.
The bastard had just exposed his exact plan!
If there was one thing Dweezel excelled at above all, it was patience. This was also what had given him the edge over Sanada all these years.
Right now, conquering the world is too inefficient. Yon Augenn was in ruins, and the WAA was no longer on his side.
That was fine. He had already waited decades—he could wait a few more.
No one was more skilled and knowledgeable than him when it came to controlling the spawn rate of mana dungeons.
In just another year and a half, the five massive mana storage crystals he had been filling would reach capacity.
Then, he could afford to stop—temporarily.
Moreover, even in its sealed state, the Black Dragon of Destruction could still release divinity.
While this wouldn’t be sustainable, as the dragon’s body would wither away the more divinity it released in such a state, he didn’t care.
As long as his plans came to fruition, nothing else mattered.
The natural balance of the world?
Irrelevant.
Once his five storage crystals were filled with the world’s mana, he would be able to sustain five entire regions—each under his absolute rule.
The people would have no choice but to rely on him for sustainability and safety.
Adventurers could only grow stronger if they swore allegiance to him, as those who wouldn’t would remain mediocre for their entire lives.
No one would be able to resist his rule, even if they wanted to.
Neither Shye Crowley nor Sanada Eiichiro would be around to stop him by then.
Sure, it stung that he would have to wait just as long—perhaps even longer—but if he gambled everything today and lost, all his hard work would be for nothing. Everything would crumble.
That was why Dweezel chose the safer route—the quintessential “Dweezel Hawkins move.”
Now, all he needed was to stall until his colossal, chained teleportation systems activated, transporting the most critical parts of his plan to a hidden stronghold—far beyond the reach of mortal hands.
There, he could lie in wait—rebuilding his lost forces, refining his plans, and returning at the perfect moment to strike once more.
