Chapter 940: Relief
Unfortunately, as much as Shye wanted to torture Leffen now, he couldn’t.
He was pressed for time.
Hence, Shye settled for two solid slaps—ensuring that Leffen remained conscious—before…slapping him one more time just because he couldn’t help it.
The bastard’s face was simply bewitchingly slappable.
Seventeenth fell unconscious after that, so Shye quickly bound him with special chains that sealed all of his physical attributes down to the level of a mundane human, then sent him into one of Hadean Varsa’s prison cells.
He then retrieved his rather disappointing life staff and cast [Heal] on himself.
Afterward, he drank several stamina potions, a few mana potions, and a few more health potions, as [Heal] wasn’t enough to fully restore him, and [High Heal] still wouldn’t activate, likely due to its cooldown.
Activating [Mana Pulse], Shye pulled his mana communicator out and checked the inbox and alerts on the small holographic screen.
He couldn’t help but frown.
The situation outside was likely one of utter chaos and mayhem, given the mix of victory reports, battle updates, urgent calls for assistance, and even a few emergency alerts.
He also read several of Kirov’s updates explaining why he had been unable to arrive on time to assist the Chaos and Tigren Unit, which had resulted in the deaths of one commander and two vice commanders.
Fortunately, his inhuman intelligence attribute granted him exceptional reading comprehension.
This allowed him to process everything in just a minute and finally gain a fairly accurate grasp of the situation outside.
Somehow, the damned geezer managed to pull through with Operation SWAA, and now, the WAA was on their side.
What made him frown the most, however, was the message from their insider in the Hawkin Group.
It seemed that Dweezel was opting for a different, more cowardly, but more efficient approach.
The bastard was planning to hop from one body to another to outlast both him and Sanada in longevity.
If he failed to unseal the Black Dragon of Destruction before the cursed snake transported it out of the Hawkin Group headquarters, Shye had the feeling that he and Sanada would never be able to locate it ever again.
Dweezel was nothing if not thorough in everything he did, after all.
Sanada had only managed to track him down, plant a few spies in his organization, and locate the Hawkin Group Headquarters because the immortal snake hadn’t expected the old man to muster the will to fight him one last time after suffering two devastating defeats in the past few decades.
Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Shye opened the live battlefield tracker device that had been given to him.
Maverick didn’t need one, but he did, and since Sanada only had one, it was given to him.
The tracker was about the size of a large book, with very few buttons and a screen displaying a white background. Simple black icons represented landmarks of Yon Augenn City, allowing Shye to pinpoint where the battle was taking place. Glowing green dots indicated allies, while red ones marked enemies.
A miniature image of every commander was also visible—including his own.
Given the scale of the battle and the world’s technological limitations compared to Earth, the fact that Sanada had managed to create such a device spoke volumes about his dedication to taking down Dweezel and ruining the bastard’s sinister plans.
After taking a few seconds to make a decisive, high-risk, high-reward decision, Shye sent a message to his commanders and dashed out of the room, heading toward the designated meeting point.
There was no time to waste—they couldn’t afford to wait for all their forces to break through Dweezel’s forbidden army.
He, his commanders, and his captains would have to do everything by themselves.
Sanada said he would help later as well, and Shye could only trust the old man, himself, and his small cohort.
Doing otherwise would mean failure.

“Seira Squadron, attack from the left and push the Soul Warriors toward the center of the street! Harry and David Squadrons, rain hell on them!’ Ian ordered coldly, his gaze sharp.
After cutting down a five-meter-tall abomination, he leaped back into the Black Dawn Unit’s ranks.
He knew they were pressed for time and was pushing himself to break through Dweezel’s forbidden army despite the exhaustion from endless battles.
Shye hadn’t sent a message in a while, and Ian couldn’t shake the grim thought that he might have already perished.
The tireless Soul Warriors weren’t easy to defeat, and if tens of thousands had surrounded him, what else could have happened?
Tigren and Feather weren’t responding either.
Just a few meters ahead, Maia and Shirley desperately slashed their way through the abominations, ignoring orders to slow down.
Even Commander Alicia and Commander Maverick were attacking recklessly, forcing their elites to match their relentless pace.
Ian understood them.
He, too, refused to let one of his closest friends die and was doing his best to cut down as many enemies as possible.
He could only imagine the overwhelming emotions surging through Maia, Shirley, Alicia, and Maverick’s hearts.
Just as his heart tightened with each passing second, Ian and the Black Dawn Unit’s captains suddenly received a message.
The sender’s name made him freeze.
Shirley, lost in her relentless assault, ignored it completely. But Maia still had the presence of mind to stop and check.
She was hoping it was from her big brother.
…And it was.
The desperately worried little sister opened the message faster than anyone else, her eyes locked onto its contents.
She had never been more focused in her life.
“I’m fine. Ian, take all the captains with you and meet me in Room 8.81 on the eighth floor of the Hawkin Group headquarters.
Breakthrough Dweezel’s forces as fast as you can. Ignore them whenever possible and focus solely on reaching your destination.
Now, go.”
A tear of happiness and relief unknowingly slipped down her cheek.
She turned quickly to report to Ian, only to realize he had already read the message.
Excited, she informed Shirley, finally bringing her reckless advance to a halt as she regained her wits and composure.
Her beloved was fine.
But maybe not for long.
Without hesitation, she complied, forcefully pulling along the unaware captains—Luna, Reginald, and Seira—toward Ian, completely catching them off guard.
They didn’t fault her for the abruptness, understanding that she was simply overwhelmed with worry for Shye.
It didn’t seem like Alicia and Maverick had received the same message, so Maia quickly sent them one, simply informing them that Shye had given orders and was safe.
With that done, she bolted off, following Ian with eight others beside her.
