Chapter 144: The Platinum Captain: Battle Maniac
After saying that, the captain left and carried out Agis’s orders obediently. Agis, still standing in his place, pulled out a lounge chair from his storage bag.
“Huh… young ones. Keep going until no one is left standing!” he shouted, encouraging Reza and Izul. He then dropped himself onto the chair, took out more items from his bag—a few fruits, some beer, and a small table to accompany him as he watched the free thrilling battle.
Reza and Izul noticed that Captain Agis did not stop them, making them even more excited.
“Hahaha… come on then!” said Reza.
Reza’s appearance was very different from before; now, he wielded scythe-like swords in both hands. The scythes were lined with sharp serrated edges ready to tear apart their prey. His equipment was fully blue and made of high-quality hard fabric, capable of blocking sword slashes with its sheer material strength.
“I’m coming!!” Izul shouted, charging straight ahead with his lion. The fight between Reza and Izul had begun. Agis Mahendra’s cheers from his chair fueled the two fighters even more; there was no intention of stopping.
“Hahaha! Come on, show me your skills, don’t bore me!” Agis yelled while biting into a fruit and taking a casual sip of his beer.
Clang!
Reza’s scythe sword brutally slashed toward Izul, its serrated edges spinning like a deadly saw, slicing through the air at incredible speed. Each strike was full of fury, attacking relentlessly without pause. But Izul, with his sharp wits, remained calm on his red-maned lion, dodging elegantly while spinning his spear to deflect the ferocious strikes.
“He’s too emotional… but his power is indeed impressive,” Agis muttered from afar, observing with a keen eye. “Izul, that boy, surely has a strategy.”
Reza became more aggressive, attacking from every angle. The scythes in his hands gleamed in the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, creating a dazzling visual effect. He spun, jumped, and slashed from above with full intensity. However, despite Reza’s speed and relentless assault, Izul always found a way to dodge or deflect with his spear. He didn’t strike back fiercely but waited for the perfect moment to counter.
BRUAK!
Izul’s red-maned lion suddenly lunged at Reza, its claws aimed at his body. Reza, with quick reflexes, jumped back, but the lion was already in front of him, delivering a powerful blow with its paw.
Clang!
Reza’s scythe blocked the paw, but the impact pushed him back several steps.
“Come on, lion boy! Don’t give him a chance!” Agis shouted, watching with shining eyes.
Izul saw an opportunity as Reza lost his balance. With extraordinary speed, he darted forward, thrusting his spear with precision. Reza managed to parry it at the last second, but Izul’s movements were highly skilled. Every attack was a blend of intelligence and tactics, unlike Reza’s brute force that relied on power and emotion.
Reza tried to trick Izul with a swing of his left scythe, but Izul wasn’t fooled. His lion leaped high, positioning Izul above Reza. From there, Izul swung his spear at a deadly angle. Reza could only parry the attack with difficulty, each clash feeling like a sledgehammer pounding his body.
“Hahaha… you’re too foolish,” mocked Izul with a smile, though small beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.
Enraged by Izul’s taunts, Reza attacked even harder. This time, he spun in the air, his scythes forming a deadly circle, slicing through the wind with a sharp whistling sound. But Izul had set a trap. He commanded his lion to retreat slightly, and as Reza attacked, Izul spun his spear in a circular motion, sweeping Reza’s legs. Reza didn’t have time to react, and his body was thrown to the ground.
“Aghhh!” Reza groaned, trying to get up, but Izul was already above him.
“This ends now!” shouted Izul.
With quick movements, he thrust his spear toward Reza’s stomach. Reza’s scythe tried to deflect it, but it was too slow.
Chukk!
Izul’s golden spear pierced Reza’s stomach, emitting a shrill sound. Reza fell silent, his face pale, enduring the overwhelming pain.
Reza collapsed to the ground, his breathing heavy, his eyes still burning with the fighting spirit, even though his body could no longer move. Izul withdrew his spear and stepped back with a smug expression.
Agis Mahendra, who had been watching from afar, raised his beer cup and laughed heartily. “Hahaha! What an incredible finish! You two really entertained me!”
“See, you only won last time because of sheer luck,” Izul said calmly.
Reza just smiled faintly, holding back the pain. “Tch… You won this time, but next time!!!”
“Don’t forget the Golden Chest… Hahaha,” Izul said before quickly leaving with his lion.

Agis got up from his chair, clapped his hands, and shouted, “Well done, well done! You young ones have a bright future ahead of you. I can’t wait to see your next battle!”
Agis then approached Reza and observed him briefly. He glanced at the wound on Reza’s stomach.
“You’re lucky your vital organs weren’t hit. Otherwise, you’d be gone from this world,” Agis said as he pulled out a transparent bottle from his storage bag.
(High-Level Healing Potion) An elven concoction with extraordinary healing effects. It contains natural energy that can heal serious wounds.
– Contents: 25 ml
“Drink it,” Agis said casually. He could have stopped Izul from stabbing Reza’s stomach, but he deliberately didn’t. He wanted to teach these young ones the harshness of the world they lived in.
“Thank you, Captain Agis,” Reza said, lacking his previous arrogance. He quickly took the potion from Captain Agis’s hand and drank it.
Right after drinking the healing potion, the hole in Reza’s stomach began to close at a speed visible to the naked eye. The effects of the high-level potion were potent, true to its name.
“Sorry, sir, I want to ask…”
Before Reza could finish his question, Agis was no longer beside him. He saw Captain Agis flying away, riding a small stick under his feet.
“I was careless this time,” Reza said to himself.
