Chapter 459: Revelation Cross
“Greetings to the Senior! I, Zenithus Rayne of the Invictus Sect, am at your service,” he declared, his tone filled with utmost reverence.
Lein was taken aback. He hadn’t expected his question to provoke such a reaction. Even Laras and Efan behind him instinctively furrowed their brows as they watched the old man.
Why was his reaction this extreme?
“Stand up,” Lein said, his voice remaining calm despite the growing speculation in his mind. “How do you know my level of strength?”
He was certain he had used an artifact to conceal his aura, ensuring that not even a trace of his energy leaked out. Even if someone tried to assess his power, they shouldn’t be able to see anything.
And yet, this old man…
Zenithus stood back up, his expression still showing deep respect. However, instead of answering immediately, he shifted his gaze around, as if ensuring that no one was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Apologies, Sir. This is not the right place to talk,” he said in a more serious tone. He then pointed towards a simple bar located not far from the roadside. “Would you be willing to stop by and have a chat there?”
Lein observed him for a moment before nodding casually. He was in no rush, and from Zenithus’ demeanor, it seemed the old man truly knew something about the Seed of Law.
Without further words, Zenithus called over a merchant from a nearby stall—a young man who appeared to be a disciple of the Invictus Sect—to take over his duty at the entrance to the market. After ensuring his responsibilities were delegated, he led Lein and the others toward the bar at the edge of the street.
They went straight to the second floor, entering a simple room that contained only a low table with several soft cushions around it. The space was quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of the market outside, providing a more private atmosphere for their conversation.
After they were all seated, Zenithus gave a few orders to the servant who entered, then turned to Lein with an expression of eager anticipation.
“Forgive me, Senior. May I ask for your name?” he inquired, his excitement barely concealed.
Lein leaned back comfortably. “My name is Lein,” he answered calmly. “And these are Laras and Efan, my companions.”
As he spoke, Lein subtly extended his senses to scan the surroundings. He expanded his perception to a radius of hundreds of kilometers, ensuring there were no hidden threats. Once satisfied that the situation was secure, he refocused his attention on Zenithus.
The old man turned toward Laras and Efan, his gaze carrying a hint of respect. “Greetings, Miss Laras, Sir Efan,” he greeted with a friendly smile.
“Alright, Senior. Since you are a visitor, I will explain the general situation of Solareon City, or more precisely, the Realm of Sanctus Lux,” Zenithus began the conversation with a serious tone.
Lein leaned back slightly, listening attentively. From the man’s expression, it was clear that the information he was about to share was not trivial.
“The Realm of Sanctus Lux is governed by a powerful organization known as the Council of Divine Light,” Zenithus continued. “This council consists of seven individuals, each from ancient sects deeply rooted in this realm.”
Lein nodded slightly. A sect-based governing structure was not new to him, but the fact that there were only seven members intrigued him.
“The leader of this council also holds the title of Guardian of Sanctus Lux. At present, the reigning Guardian is Ardentis Solarias, a cultivator at Stage King Level 5,” Zenithus explained.
Laras and Efan exchanged brief glances. A cultivator of such a level was certainly not someone to be underestimated.
“For now, we are in one of the largest cities in Sanctus Lux, Solareon City,” he continued. “And our sect, Invictus, is also based in this city.”
Zenithus spoke with a steady and confident tone, providing Lein and the others with a broad understanding of the power structure in this realm.
“However, the Council of Divine Light is not the only major force in Sanctus Lux,” Zenithus went on. “There is also the Faithwarden, a dominant group with significant influence. Additionally, in the western region lies the Palyer Sect, while in the east, the Beast Master Sect holds control over that area.”
Lein pondered over the information for a moment. Faithwarden, Palyer, Beast Master… This realm clearly had multiple major factions with possibly conflicting interests.
“Broadly speaking,” Zenithus continued, “Sanctus Lux is one of the major realms within the Outland Zone, under the dominion of the Nova Consortium.”
Lein narrowed his eyes. The name Nova Consortium was not unfamiliar to him. That consortium controlled numerous realms and vast territories, making it one of the most formidable powers out there.
“That is a general overview of Sanctus Lux, Senior Lein,” Zenithus concluded his explanation with a respectful tone.
Lein and the others remained silent for a moment, processing all the information that had just been shared. Zenithus was indeed a skilled speaker—his explanations were direct, concise, yet still easy to understand.

Before long, Zenithus continued, this time addressing the question Lein had initially asked.
“As for how I was able to determine Senior’s level of power…” Zenithus raised his hand and retrieved a small object from within his robe.
A crystal cross, small enough to fit in one’s palm, appeared in his hand, emitting a soft glow that pulsed rhythmically. Ancient runes were etched into its surface, faintly lighting up each time he slightly shifted the artifact.
“This is the answer,” he said as he extended the object toward Lein. “An artifact known as the Revelation Cross.”
Lein took it, feeling the cool surface of the crystal against his skin. Although it appeared simple, he could sense a faint vibration of energy emanating from within.
