Floating Island - Triple S Talent - Chapter 465
Chapter 465: Good news
“Can I take them with me? We will be leaving this city in a few days,” Lein said casually. His gaze remained calm, as if this decision was a trivial matter that needed no further debate. He understood that the soldiers were merely following the rules, but that didn’t mean he had to let these children be cast away.
The two guards exchanged glances. There was hesitation in their eyes, as if they were witnessing something irrational. However, after a moment, they seemed to resign themselves to the strangeness of the situation.
One of them finally nodded and said, “Of course, Young Master. But you must ensure that they do not wander around the city. If they do, they will be captured by other officers.”
Without waiting for further response, the two officers turned and left, abandoning Lein with the two children, who still stood there in confusion.
“Brother… hiks.” The little girl sobbed, clinging tightly to her brother’s arm. Her large, tear-filled eyes gazed up at him in worry.
Meanwhile, the older boy stared at Lein. His gaze was cautious, but there was a hint of gratitude in his eyes. “Thank you, Sir…” he said sincerely. Even so, his tone remained flat, as if what Lein had done wasn’t anything extraordinary.
Lein observed them carefully. Their clothes were tattered, their bodies thin, and there were signs of exhaustion on their faces. He took a slow breath before asking, “Do you have a place to stay?”
The boy shook his head. “No.” His answer was brief, but there was bitterness in his voice. His hand lifted, gently wiping away the tears still streaming down his sister’s cheeks.
Lein studied them for a moment. He could sense the coldness in the boy’s demeanor, especially the way he refused to show any sign of weakness.
“We’ll be leaving, Sir. Once again, thank you.” Without hesitation, the boy reached for his sister’s hand, preparing to leave.
But before they could take another step, Lein spoke again.
“Wait.” His voice was calm but carried a certain weight. The two children stopped. “Do you want to leave this place and gain your freedom?”
The boy froze for a moment. Lein’s words seemed to strike something deep within him. Slowly, he turned back, his brows furrowed. “Are you serious, Sir? You’ll take us away from here?”
Lein nodded lightly, without the slightest hint of doubt. “Yes, of course. Come with me.”
The boy stared at him for a moment, as if trying to confirm Lein’s sincerity. Then, without warning, he bowed deeply, lowering his body nearly ninety degrees.
“Sir… thank you. Thank you.” His voice was filled with sincerity.
Meanwhile, his younger sister simply stood beside him, her tiny hand still gripping his arm tightly. She did not speak, but her gaze remained fixed on Lein—filled with emotions too complex to put into words.
Lein glanced at Laras and Efan, signaling for them to continue their journey. These children would come with him.
And for the first time, Lein felt that bringing them along was the right decision.
The boy’s small hand lifted, his fingers gently pressing against his sister’s head, signaling her to follow his lead. “Elvira, let’s thank the master,” he said softly, his voice gentle yet firm.
Elvira looked at Lein for a moment, then slowly nodded before mimicking her brother’s movement. Her tiny frame bowed deeply, as if pouring all her gratitude into that single gesture.
Without saying much, Zyrek took his sister’s hand and turned to Lein. “Let’s… follow the master,” he said before pulling Elvira along to walk behind them. The two children moved quickly, afraid of being left behind.
Lein and his group continued their journey under Efan’s guidance. Along the way, they encountered various items, including an old wooden pendant that looked fragile. Even so, Efan’s eyes sparkled as he saw it. “This pendant shines no less than the previous jug,” he remarked confidently.
During the walk, Laras began chatting with the two children. From their brief conversation, they learned that the boy’s name was Zyrek, while his younger sister was Elvira. The two often came to the market to find food—or, in desperate situations, to steal from market visitors.
Their parents had long disappeared. The last time they saw their father was when he left the city. Since then, he had never returned.
Now, they were nearing the edge of the market. Efan stopped for a moment, his eyes staring blankly at the area beyond. His brows furrowed. “The light of fortune is here, but… there’s nothing?” he murmured in confusion. His gaze then shifted to Lein, silently asking for an explanation.
Lein merely shrugged. He was about to use his elemental energy to scan the area, but suddenly—
A figure appeared in the distance.
As soon as Lein recognized the face, his eyes narrowed slightly. Zenithus.
The man looked anxious and rushed. His steps were quick, nearly running. The moment he saw Lein standing before him, he seemed surprised for a moment but quickly erased his astonishment. There was something more important to convey.

“Senior Lein… I have important information to share!” he called out as he approached them.
Lein remained standing casually, but deep down, he was slightly hopeful. Efan’s eye of fortune had never been wrong. If Zenithus had appeared here, it meant that whatever he was about to say was something valuable.
“What is it?” Lein asked calmly.
Zenithus took a deep breath before speaking all at once. “The sect leader has information about the Seed of Law. If Senior Lein is willing to help, you can obtain it.”
Lein was silent for a moment.
The Seed of Law?
His eyes gleamed, no longer as composed as before.
Lein was slightly surprised, even Laras and Efan reflexively widened their eyes. Zenithus had left less than an hour ago, yet now he was back before them, bringing astonishingly good news.
“Tell me more details,” Lein said curiously.
There was no reason to doubt the truth of Zenithus’ words. The light of fortune had proven everything—this was definitely something good.
