Chapter 475: Uncontrolled situation
Efan’s gaze ignored everything else around him, locking onto the figure of the grand elder standing tall above the void. Previously, there had only been one person there—the grand elder of the Invistus sect—tasked with illuminating the mist so they could venture deeper into the law manifestation zone. But now, a man in a purple robe stood beside him.
At a glance, Efan could feel the intensity of the energy radiating from the man’s body. Like invisible waves of heat, the aura of power vibrated in the air, exerting a suffocating pressure. In his right hand, the man held a staff, generating a large shield that shimmered faintly around them.
Both of them were staring into the void, toward a point where a tremendous upheaval was occurring.
“The ancestor of the Invistus sect!?”
Efan’s heart pounded. Panic flashed across his face.
How could this be? As far as he knew, the original plan of the Invistus sect was merely to explore the manifestation zone, with the sect’s elders standing guard from afar. Even the sect’s ancestor was supposed to remain aboard the space vessel and had no need to descend personally. His presence here could mean only one thing—the situation had grown far more serious.
Curiosity shook him, compelling him to look in the same direction as the two mighty figures.
And then, an unbelievable sight met his eyes.
“Oh god… What is happening!?”
His mouth fell open unconsciously. His eyes widened, staring into the distant void with a mix of shock, fear, and disbelief.
Below, an expansive land stretched out as if it came from another world. Thousands of giant skeletal souls soared into the sky, charging like warriors risen from a mass grave.
Above them, thick darkness hung in the sky, like a bottomless pit that devoured all light. The air around it felt heavy, as if the area was not just engulfed in darkness, but something far more terrifying—a forbidden zone that rejected the existence of living beings.
Yet even as the darkness cloaked everything, Efan could still clearly see other figures descending from above—black-armored warriors just as powerful, shooting downward like arrows, crashing into the skeleton army with earth-shaking force.
But that wasn’t what made his skin crawl.
In the middle of the chaotic battle, something far more terrifying emerged.
At the center of a swirling vortex of purple energy, a massive skull floated in the air, slowly rotating on its axis. Every few moments, it would pause, and from its hollow eye sockets, a blast of intensely powerful purple energy would shoot into the void.
Moments later—
BOOM!
A deafening explosion shook the air around it, its shockwave rattling Efan to his bones. He suddenly realized—that was the source of the massive tremors he had felt earlier. His breath caught, his eyes locked on the destruction unfolding in the distance.
“Damn it…” he muttered hoarsely, clenching his fists tightly. “Have the other sect ancestors begun to move?”
The scene before him grew ever more terrifying. With every passing second, new explosions erupted, like the thundering cannons of giants endlessly tearing apart the void around them. Efan’s heart raced, cold sweat beading at his temples.
Without delay, he opened his system panel. His fingers moved quickly over the holographic interface, opening his contact list. He searched for the two names he trusted most in moments like this.
Efan → Laras: Sister Laras, where are you? Did you feel that explosion?
Efan → Lein: Brother Lein, where are you? Is the mission still ongoing?
After sending the messages, he closed the system panel and turned his gaze back to the battle above. His eyes tried to follow the movements of the two elders fighting in the void. Every time their powers clashed, the space around them trembled, unable to withstand the force of their blows.
But suddenly, something changed.
As the purple beam shot again from the giant skull, this time the expected explosion didn’t happen. Efan narrowed his eyes, staring into the distant void. Slowly, a massive black circle formed in the sky—its center darkening further, the edges elongating into the shape of a spear tip ready to plunge downward.
And then, from within that darkness, a colossal figure emerged.
The figure was so massive it seemed to merge with the shadows around it. Its body was black and semi-transparent, pulsing like dense mist in constant motion. In front of it floated a massive stone, rotating continuously and channeling dark energy into its form, giving the impression that it was the very embodiment of destruction.
The creature’s eyes moved slowly, gazing downward.

Efan held his breath.
Below, the giant skull fired its purple beam again—the light shot straight through the void, targeting the shadowy giant.
But the creature simply raised one hand.
The space before it trembled, and then—crack!—shattered like glass struck by a heavy object. The purple beam, which should have detonated with tremendous force, simply vanished, absorbed into the spatial collapse it had created.
The creature grinned.
A black spear beside it glowed, energy flowing fiercely into it. In an instant, the spear shot downward, piercing the sky with incredible speed—aiming directly at the giant skull below.
Below, the skull moved.
Its mouth, which had been sealed shut all this time, slowly opened. From within, a purple cube began to form—growing larger, its edges sharpening. And in a split second, the cube shot forward, intercepting the tip of the spear plunging down.
Then—
Boom!
Another massive explosion shook the void. The two colossal attacks collided directly, creating a clash that echoed across the emptiness. The energy from both assaults continued to radiate, as if battling for dominion over the very core of the cosmos.
The spear’s tip and the cube’s edge appeared frozen midair, unmoving. No immediate explosion, no instant destruction—only a tense, suffocating silence. But within moments, subtle ripples began to form around them.
Grgrgr…
A dreadful rumble echoed through the space. The once-faint energy ripples now grew clearer, expanding like waves ready to erupt at any moment. The power locked between the two attacks kept building, shaking the surrounding atmosphere violently.
“Durnhardt! Valerian!”
A sudden shout shattered the silence. A man in a purple robe stood in the distance, his voice filled with urgency. His gaze was fixed on the two colossal beings still locked in battle. He knew what would happen if their powers continued to clash.
“Stop it!” he called out firmly. “If you don’t, you’ll destroy the entire law zone!”
But instead of receiving a reassuring response, a deep, coarse voice echoed from the direction of the giant skull.
“Magnus… make your choice now…”
