Chapter 483: Direct invitation
On the vast stretch of land, more than a hundred people had gathered. At the front, several figures stood in small groups, engaged in what seemed to be serious discussions. The aura of powerful King-level cultivators filled the air, creating a heavy yet anticipatory atmosphere.
From a distance, Lein shot forward at high speed, leaving behind a swirling trail of wind. In an instant, he landed at the front lines, joining several key figures deep in conversation.
Luxador, who had remained silent until now, immediately turned when he sensed Lein’s presence. A wide smile spread across his face as he stepped forward, his expression filled with genuine delight.
“Lord Lein, you’re truly incredible,” Luxador said without hesitation. His voice was warm, brimming with unhidden admiration.
“You finally made it, Lord Lein! We thought you might’ve been left behind.”
“Yes, I saw your clones everywhere. They’re incredibly strong!”
Several other King-level cultivators also greeted him. Their eyes were filled with awe at Lein’s ability to create clones. They themselves could produce replicas, but the number and strength that approached the original body were far beyond their reach.
Normally, to achieve such effects, one would have to use special items like warrior dolls with power equal to the user’s. Even then, they consumed enormous amounts of energy, and the required resources were extremely rare.
Lein accepted their welcome casually, walking past them without displaying any excessive pride. As long as all of this helped him reach his goal—the Law Seed—he didn’t mind their praise.
“It’s nothing. I just happen to have a few methods up my sleeve,” he replied politely, avoiding further discussion about how he did it.
“Nothing? You’re underestimating yourself, Lord Lein,” Luxador chuckled, then without hesitation, grabbed Lein’s hand. “Come, let’s meet Elder Magnus.”
Lein remained calm in front of a Tier 4 King. This wasn’t his first encounter with someone at that level, so he had long adapted, both mentally and physically. However, something felt different.
The Magnus standing before him now no longer exuded the overwhelming pressure he had on the spacefaring vessel. Back then, his aura was so intense it filled the entire room, making those nearby feel suffocated. But now, the old man appeared ordinary—no more than an elderly man with long white hair flowing freely. His purple robe fluttered gently in the breeze.
Lein narrowed his eyes. “Did he change his appearance?” he thought. The Magnus he saw earlier clearly didn’t look this old.
Magnus seemed to sense Lein’s doubt. He gave a slight smile before speaking in a relaxed tone.
“What’s wrong, young friend? Are you surprised?”
Magnus’s voice sounded completely natural. There was no force of energy behind it, no oppressive resonance of power as high-level cultivators often used. To Lein, it felt like hearing the voice of a mere mortal.
Lein glanced at the old man’s face once more, then shrugged before responding with an awkward smile.
“Ahahaha… well, yes, Sir. But I’m sure you’re still the same person.”
Luxador and several others nearby turned with surprised expressions. They hadn’t expected Lein to speak so casually to the elder of their sect. Magnus wasn’t just a Tier 4 King—he was a symbol of strength, revered within their sect.
But what was even more surprising was how Magnus responded to Lein’s words.
“Good to know you think that way.” Magnus chuckled softly, seemingly pleased by Lein’s direct and unpretentious honesty.
Then, without warning, he asked a question that instantly changed the atmosphere around them.
“By the way, would Lord Lein be interested in joining my sect?” he asked calmly, but straight to the point.
Lein was slightly taken aback by the direct invitation from Magnus, especially considering the place and timing. They had just seized control of the Law Manifestation Zone, and now Magnus was suddenly inviting him to join Invictus Sect.
For a moment, Lein pondered. He weighed the possibilities before finally speaking.
“It’s not that I don’t want to, Sir, but I have my own domain,” he said politely, though his meaning was clear—Lein had no intention of leaving his territory. He was a Guardian, and more than that, he wanted to remain the absolute ruler of his own realm.
However, the moment those words left his mouth, Lein noticed something that made his brow twitch slightly. Magnus’s gaze toward him seemed different—not angry, not disappointed, but more like… puzzled.
“Damn… did I say something wrong?” he thought. His mind quickly ran through various worst-case scenarios. If Magnus was offended, he’d have to be ready to teleport out of Sanctus Lux before things turned dangerous.
But Magnus merely gave a small smile before responding.

“What’s wrong with that, Lord Lein?” he asked with a confused tone, as if Lein’s answer had been something strange.
Lein himself was baffled. But before he could speak, Magnus raised his hand and pointed toward Luxador and the others.
“Everyone you see here—they’re all Guardians of their own realms.” Magnus paused briefly, giving Lein time to process his words. “Even I have my own domain. I’m also a Guardian.”
Lein stared at Magnus with a strange expression. That statement made his earlier answer sound… foolish. He had rejected Magnus’s offer because he wanted to remain the leader of his realm, but apparently, everyone here already had their own realms.
Gradually, the realization began to form in his mind. Sanctus Lux wasn’t merely an isolated place, but part of a larger system. Guardians strong enough would build their own domains, evolve, and eventually form civilizations of their own.
This principle doesn’t apply only to the Sanctus Realm—all realms within the Dominion operate under a similar system. Without it, kings would struggle to obtain resources amidst the vast and endless void. In a world full of uncertainty, cooperation among major powers is not just an option—it is an absolute necessity for exploring and conquering the emptiness of the universe.
One example is Aleron, who is currently facing the threat of a Cosmic Calamity. To survive, he has to fight desperately to secure help from a mid-tier king. Lein, on the other hand, is in a far more advantageous position—he has received a direct offer of cooperation from a Tier-4 King.
