Chapter 122: Chapter 59: Situation Around_1
Elias’s face darkened slightly as he continued. “After the mayor was killed and his wife died while being violated and tortured and all these happened in front of these children, mind you—the kids were completely traumatized and wouldn’t speak, wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t sleep properly for days.”
His voice was heavy with the memory. “It was Amira who sat with them, took care of them, and helped them through it. At some point, they just… started calling her ‘mom.’ And she didn’t correct them. Instead, she decided to take responsibility and raise them herself.”
Aiden, however, remained quiet. His eyes were still on Amira as she gently guided the children toward the dining area, talking to the middle-aged woman who had been watching over them.
“She didn’t have to do that,” he murmured.
Elias nodded. “No, she didn’t. But that’s who she is. She didn’t just build this place to be a stronghold—she built it to be a home. For them, for everyone here.”
As the group settled in, Amira turned to the middle-aged woman and spoke with a warm familiarity. “Thank you for watching over them, Ellen.”
The woman—Ellen, Rina’s mother—waved off her thanks with an exaggerated sigh, though her eyes held nothing but fondness. “How many times do I have to tell you? You don’t need to thank me. Are you trying to make me feel like a stranger?”
She crossed her arms, feigning irritation. “Do you not consider me family?”
Amira immediately apologized, a rare sheepish expression crossing her face. “It’s a habit. I didn’t mean it that way.”
Ellen huffed but accepted her apology, shaking her head as she walked toward the kitchen. “Go get cleaned up. Dinner will be ready soon.”
As she went toward the kitchen, Amira looked at Aiden and Tommy and said. “You two can go to the guest room and freshen up, Elias could you please help them in the direction of the guest room.”
Elias nodded and said. “Sure.”
While she looked Rina saying. “Rina you help Ezzie and take her to our room.”
Rina smiled and immediately took Ezzie hand and took her towards her room.
Soon the scent of warm food lingered in Amira’s home, filling the space with a sense of comfort as her team shared a quiet moment before dinner. It was a rare sight—a night where they weren’t fighting, strategizing, or making life-or-death decisions.
…
But thousands of kilometers away, in the capital city of Therndale, far from the quiet safety of Icelorn Basin, a different conversation was taking place.
Therinport, Therndale Province Inside the Luxurious Estate of the Rienfeld Family
A dimly lit study exuded wealth and power—shelves lined with leather-bound books, a crystal decanter of dark liquor sitting untouched on an ornate desk, and two men seated across from each other, reviewing thick stacks of documents.
The elder man, Richard Rienfeld, radiated an aura of authority, his silver hair combed back, sharp eyes scanning the papers before him with practiced ease. Across from him, Alaric, his great grandson, leaned back on the couch, closing his eyes briefly before finally breaking the silence. “Grandfather, I’ve had something on my mind for a while now.”
Richard set the document aside, tilting his head slightly. “Ask whatever you wish.”
Alaric exhaled, eyes flickering open, sharp and calculating. “Why did we retreat from the capital so quickly? We still had ways to make them dependent on us. Even if some of our pieces were exposed, we wouldn’t have had to abandon our influence so easily.”
Richard sighed, as though he had been expecting this question. “I understand your thoughts, and I know Henry feels the same way.”
He folded his hands on the desk before continuing. “Yes, we could have forced their hands, manipulated the circumstances further. But what you and Henry don’t understand is how deeply Yenna has been working to sever our influence. She isn’t just a simple nuisance—she’s the single greatest threat to our control over federation.”
Alaric’s brow furrowed. “She’s that dangerous?”
Richard nodded without hesitation, his gaze darkening. “More than you realize. She was the head of the Phoenix Unit for years—one of the most elite, covert strike forces in the entire Federation. Even though she officially retired, make no mistake… she never truly stepped away. She has assets, connections, and operatives that even I cannot trace. And with the awakened individuals rising in power, she is in the best position to control this new world order.”
A heavy silence filled the room. Alaric understood what Richard meant.
The Phoenix Unit wasn’t just any special force—it was the most elite group, feared even among their enemies and even among themself, operating in absolute secrecy. If Yenna had retained her forces, it meant she commanded a private army, stronger and deadlier than anything the Reinfeld family had.
“Is she so against us because of Amira’s case?” Alaric asked slowly, his voice edged with caution. “Or was she always like this?”
Richard let out a slow breath, rubbing his temples. “She was always a problem, but not at this level.”

His eyes hardened as he recalled the past. “But after what happened to Amira’s parents—and to her—Yenna’s hatred toward us became absolute. If it weren’t for her own morals, most of our family would already be dead.”
Alaric stiffened at the implication.
The Reinfeld family had its hands in many things, but they had underestimated just how deep Yenna’s grudge ran.
“Then there’s the matter of the surge,” Richard added grimly. “She knew about it—far more than we did.”
Alaric’s eyes sharpened. “The cultivation techniques, the knowledge of awakening abilities… It all originated from her side, didn’t it?”
Richard nodded. “We have already confirmed that the broadcast containing the first solid information on cultivation and spiritual awakening… came from Amira and her unit.”
The room fell into silence, the weight of the revelation settling between them.
Alaric’s mind raced.
Amira, she was more than just Yenna’s student—she was the direct catalyst of everything unfolding.
“She broke out of the detention center just days before the surge,” Richard continued, “and not only she did it alone all by herself but also became an awakened individual herself—possibly even stronger than Aiden.”
