Chapter 80: Chapter 39: Power’s Twisted Path of Depravity_1
She took a deep breath and pulled out her other dagger while saying, “Okay, boys, it’s my turn.”
With a flick of her wrist, the air around her shifted as she used her spiritual energy to compress and shape a thin, razor-like blade that seamlessly coated her dagger.
Becoming an ethereal wind blade remained invisible to the untrained eye, yet one can could sense its deadly presence and the faint glowing edge as an extension of her intent and precision.
Her control over wind wasn’t flashy, but it was deadly precise.
The man with the flaming blade charged again, but this time Lilah was way faster. She used wind on her feet to propel herself forward and moved like the wind itself—silent and deadly.
With one swift motion, she slashed upward. A crescent-shaped wind blade shot forward, slicing clean through his knife. His weapon shattered as the force knocked him backward with blood dripped from his fingers where shards of his own knife had cut him.
He clutched his hand, with eyes wide with pain. But before he could recover, Lilah closed the distance and slashed an “X” across his back. Soon his scream echoed through the street as he collapsed, wailing on the ground.
The remaining two men froze, terror etched across their faces. They’d always been the ones inflicting pain—not receiving it.
“Run!” one of them screamed.
They bolted in opposite directions, hoping to confuse her. But Lilah didn’t move, she simply exhaled and concentrated her spiritual energy around her dagger. The glowing edge extended, forming the shape of a large katana.
“Too slow,” she whispered.
She swung her sword in a wide, horizontal arc but the wind slash here was too dense and sharp, slicing through the air with a howling sound. The blonde man reacted, drawing all his electricity around his body to form a thick shield to block the attack.
And it barely held as the force of the slash knocked him off his feet and sent him flying into the armored car which were parked. He groaned in pain but was still alive.
The other man wasn’t as lucky as the wind slash caught him mid-run, severing his legs from his torso. He hit the ground with a sickening thud, screaming until the pain overwhelmed him.
While the blonde man forced himself to stand, with his body trembling. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. He’d never had to fight anyone like this before—never someone stronger and with this his ego which was built on fear and dominance, crumbled under the weight of reality.
“You… you monster!” he cried out, with his voice shaking.
Lilah appeared behind him before he could form another shield. “Monster? Nah.” She swung her daggers, sending two small wind blades slicing through his arms. Both limbs fell limp to his sides as blood sprayed from the stumps.
The blonde man dropped to his knees, screaming as he finally understood what it felt like to be powerless.
Lilah took a shaky breath, leaning against the side of a car for support. Her vision blurred slightly. She estimated that she had less than 10% of her energy left.
Her voice was steady, but quieter as she called out to her team. “Stop their bleeding… Make sure they don’t die before Captain come.”
Her squad moved quickly, binding wounds and securing the prisoners. Leah watched, her thoughts swirling.
I need to improve my endurance, she thought. Three small wind blades and one large slash—that’s all I can manage before I’m drained.
Amira who was silently walked toward the mansion door slowly, had observed everything—the chaos outside, Lilah’s fight with the three awakened individuals, and how others had handled the situation with efficiency. She also saw her leaning against the car, exhaustion written across her face.
For a brief moment, Amira’s expression softened. “Reckless, as always,” she thought, letting out a quiet sigh as she withdrew her spiritual sense from the outside.
Mira, walking beside her, noticed the subtle change. “Did Lilah mess up?” she asked in her concern.
Amira gave a small nod. “She did well, but… she gets too caught up in the fight that she tends to forget her surroundings. If it wasn’t for the new tactical suit, that hit she took could’ve been much worse.”
Mira frowned, understanding the weight behind her words. “We can’t always rely on armor,” she muttered.
“Exactly,” Amira said. “Soon, our enemies will be stronger and smarter. We need to adapt faster than they do.”
Mira nodded as they approached the door. Without a moment’s hesitation, Amira raised her hand, and a jagged ice shard formed in her palm, glimmering with concentrated spiritual energy.

With a flick of her wrist, the shard shot forward with a high-pitched whistle. The door exploded outward with a deafening crack as splinters flew in every direction.
Inside, the sound of laughter and casual conversation came to an abrupt halt. A group of men lounging in the main hall turned toward the door, stunned.
For a moment, they thought the blonde man had returned with more “entertainment.” But when their gazes landed on the armed women standing in the entryway, their grins vanished.
One of the thugs stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. “Subdue them!” he shouted, licking his lips. “Let’s show them who’s boss!”
Amira didn’t wait for them to act. She raised her foot and stomped, sending a shockwave of spiritual energy through the floor. The tiles cracked as frost shot forward in jagged lines, encasing the men’s legs in a thick layer of ice.
As they were trying to break free while they thrashed and cursed.
“Move!” Amira commanded, and her team sprang into action.
Dia darted forward, ducking under a wild punch and driving her elbow into the man’s ribs. He let out a wheeze before she swept his legs out from under him, sending him crashing to the floor.
While Mira followed close behind with her movements fluid as she encased one man’s hands in water and then knocked him out with a swift knee to the face.
