Chapter 94: Chapter 46: Elder’s Council_1
As the meeting was near end and people began prepare to leave while thinking about the task assigned to them, Amira made a gesture toward Sophie and Asher who were also ready to leave.
Sophie and Asher exchanged glances, knowing that Amira have saying to say.
So before anyone could leave, Amira added as she looked Sophie,
“And remember, we’re not building these walls the old way anymore.”
Sophie raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
“Now, even with the help of machinery, we now have awakened individuals—especially earth users—who can manipulate and control earth. Use them and with their help, not only will the construction speed increase, but the strength and tenacity of the defense will also be significantly improved.”
Amira’s words carried weight, but she let Sophie decide how best to execute the plan.
Sophie gave a firm nod, determination settling in. “Got it, Captain. We’ll make it work.”
With that, Amira looked around the room and gave the final adjournment.
“Alright. That’s all for now. Everyone, finish your tasks—we reconvene in the evening for updates. Dismissed.”
As everyone began moving out, Amira suddenly remembered something. She turned toward Elias, stopping him mid-step.
“Elias. Keep maintaining the communication channel and the updates from the safe house. We already laid a line, so keep monitoring their status. Let me know immediately if something changes.”
Elias adjusted his glasses and nodded. “Understood. I’ll make sure we stay connected with them.”
Amira then crossed her arms, thinking for a second before adding,
“Also, if possible keep an eye on the path from where we came. If there’s any movement—especially from a large group—I want to know immediately.”
Elias didn’t question it, simply nodding before heading out to complete his tasks.
With everyone gone, Amira was left alone in the meeting room, the silence settling around her.
She leaned back in her chair, her fingers tapping against the armrest as she let herself finally process everything.
“The groundwork is set… Now all I need is more manpower.”
Her thoughts drifted to Aiden and Alex, the two pillars of support she needed to truly solidify Basin as a stronghold.
“It’s almost time. Aiden’s convoy should be arriving soon.”
It was a good decision to have assigned someone to keep watch at a distance, to detect movement before anyone reached their perimeter.
But while she was busy laying the foundation of Basin’s future, another battle was quietly brewing elsewhere.
The Capital – An Emergency Gathering
The air inside the manor’s grand meeting hall was heavy with tension. The morning sun, which had once bathed the capital in golden hues, now felt distant—overshadowed by the storm brewing within these four walls.
This was an emergency summons from Amira’s master, a woman who rarely involved herself in Federation politics, let alone called for urgent discussions.
And if she did—
It meant something serious was happening.
The three generations of the Riendfeld family sat inside an elegant car, its tinted windows reflecting the towering structures of the capital as they passed.

Inside, the mood was tense.
The young grandson, eager to learn about the inner workings of the Federation’s elite, finally broke the silence.
“Great-Grandfather… why do you think this meeting was called?”
Richard, an aging but powerful man, didn’t immediately answer. Instead, he stroked his beard thoughtfully, his expression unreadable.
After a moment, he finally said,
“I don’t know what that woman is thinking.”
His voice was calm yet laced with something else—wariness.
“But if she called this meeting, it must be of grave importance. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have bothered to step into these politics and their charades.”
His son, who had been quietly listening, nodded slowly.
“You mean… it must be something concerning the security of the entire Federation?”
Richard let out a low hum, neither confirming nor denying it.
“If she’s moving… then yes.”
His grandson shifted uneasily, sensing the gravity of the situation.
“Then why do I feel like no one is going to leave this meeting in a good mood?”
Richard let out a small, almost amused chuckle, though it held no real warmth.
“Because, my boy, you’re finally starting to understand how this world truly works.”
The transport pulled up to the grand estate, and outside, the highest members of the Federation were already gathering.
Tension lingered in the air, thick and suffocating.
No one knew exactly why they were here— as the circle of Federation’s most powerful individuals sat around a long, polished table, their expressions ranging from neutral to deeply unsettled.
The moment Richard entered, a few heads turned, noting his slight lateness.
He ignored them.
This wasn’t the time for petty political games.
Henry took his seat beside Helen, while Alaric stood silently behind Richard, observing.
Once everyone had settled, an aged man, equal in stature to Richard, finally broke the silence. “Now that everyone is here, why have you summoned us?”
At the head of the table, Yenna, Amira’s master, sat in calm silence, her posture relaxed but her presence sharp as steel. Her eyes had remained closed the entire time, making some wonder if she was deep in thought or simply uninterested in the political maneuvering around her.
She opened her eyes their was any emotion in them as she wasn’t here for small talk or to entertain their egos but to lay bare the truth they refused to see.
Yenna’s gaze shifted to Chancellor Helen and Vice-Chancellor Henry.
Her words came out smooth yet edged with steel, each syllable a carefully placed dagger.
“I already know that you and the council have decided to secure the Central Province first.”
The room remained still, the weight of her words sinking in.
“And I also know,” she continued, “that you are abandoning the Outer Provinces, leaving their governance and survival in the hands of their respective governors and stationed armies, until you deem yourselves capable enough to reclaim control.”
A slight shift rippled through the room.
The Riendfeld family, along with the previous Chancellor, the former head of the Dragon Unit, and even the old man who had initially spoken, exchanged confused glances.
But Helen and Henry?
They remained silent.
Their expressions were neutral—too neutral.
Neither confirming nor denying her claim.
Yenna’s sharp eyes narrowed.
She leaned back slightly and continued.
“Now that the decision has been made, it cannot be undone. I am not here to challenge it.”
A murmur of relief passed through some of the Elders.
But it was short-lived.
