Chapter 1078: Risk
Sylas watched as the Clypsians went off to follow his orders. He knew that this plan would succeed. The Sylphs would be taken completely off guard, and though they most definitely had contingencies for a prison break, what they most certainly didn’t have were plans for dealing with one that happened without the slightest sound.

There were so many failsafes and hidden mechanisms that Sylas had stumbled into that he was sure of this. But none of them could have expected that he would have a method of slipping through that didn’t require triggering any of them.

Everything hitched on one thing…

That Sylas would get his hands on an Overlord.

If yes, then everything would be fine.

If not…

‘A Plan B…’

Sylas didn’t have one. At least, he didn’t have one that would involve anything other than running. And unfortunately, that would be much tougher to do when he had already sacrificed his vessel to lay out the trap.

Now it was just a matter of that D-Grade acting exactly as he expected. Because if he was correct, very soon there would be a shipment of the exact materials he would need to complete this plan.

The feeling of having everything in the palms of his hands… he was finding that he liked it just as much as overpowering an enemy. He had missed being the most intelligent in the room.

Being so ignorant of the world had left him with no other choice but to rely on his fists. But this… this was nice.

[Cenk Hama]

[Level: 107]

—

Cenk sat in his office, eagerly waiting for news of the arrival of the materials he had ordered his secretary to prepare. The capture of a Clypsian of Earth, one that was so powerful at that, was like a pie falling from the skies.

Honestly, it was almost too good to be true. Too good that he had to send out feelers, trying to find information about where this Clypsian youth could have come from and trying to see what trap might be lying in wait.

But truthfully, this was just him being overly cautious. What could delivering an F-Grade to him on a silver platter possibly have to do with a trap of any sort?

Even if there was a trap to be had, they certainly wouldn’t risk the life of such a talent. He had never heard of an F-Grade so easily capable of killing E-Grades before. Even those on the Titan Leaderboard probably shouldn’t be able to, right?

The thought came fleeting and almost slipped by before Cenk felt his heart constrict.

Wait. The Titan Leaderboard.

That was a list that should trigger automatically. There was no escaping it because it wasn’t a list formed by humanoids, but instead the system itself. The calculations all happened in real time.

If this Clypsian was really of this galaxy, how could they not be on the leaderboard?

Cenk hurried and slammed a palm down on the desk before him, causing a wave of Runes to take shape and twist into form before a connection was formed.

“What is the news? Have you scanned his status screen yet? What is his name? Where does he come from? What is his Race?”

The rapid-fire series of questions came faster and faster, so much so that someone who wasn’t in the D-Grade would likely hardly be able to keep up. Even the Runes fluctuated wildly, trying to translate the message and get it to the other side.

“Sir, no one was able to see through his status screen. He has very strong protections. I’m afraid sir will have to come personally to see this through, otherwise we won’t be able to gather more information. But we are also speculating that if he is from Earth, it’s possible that he is still under the protection of the system as Earth has yet to fully integrate into the wider galaxy just yet.”

“Protection…”

This was nonsense. Unfortunately, Summoned Worlds were often so protected that even the Sylphs—a Race that had probably had more interaction with one such world than any other in the galaxy in recent memory—could only speculate about such things.

It sounded like a plausible explanation for why they wouldn’t be able to read Sylas’ status, but it wasn’t enough for all of Cenk’s worries to calm.

The number one on the Titan Leaderboard right now, wasn’t it Sylas Grimblade? Could he be…

Cenk’s heart skipped a beat once more.

No one knew where Sylas Grimblade was from, but what they did know for certain was that he was from a Summoned World. Could that Summoned World be Earth? Would there really be such a coincidence?

But Sylas Grimblade was a Human Simioid, not a Clypsian. It didn’t make any sense for him to be able to exude so much of the air of one. Was he just overthinking things?

No, taking a step back, what would it even mean if this Clypsian really was Sylas Grimblade?

‘If this really is Sylas Grimblade, then the plan won’t work… this world is forged with the Cultivation Path of the Clypsians, not Humans. If a Human is used as the catalyst, it won’t even get off the ground…’

This Clypsian needed to be the final piece of the puzzle—not an addition, but instead a multiple, an enhancer of what was already there. They needed more of what they already had at a much higher quality, not a random addition no matter how good.

Even if there was a risk, no matter what, Cenk had to go personally.

He slowly stood to his feet.

There was a reason he was so hesitant to act, and it wasn’t just because of arrogance. There was a price to pay for existing in a world that was slowly morphing into the perfect vessel for a Race that wasn’t your own, especially when that Race was once a favored of a Summoned World you were interfering with.

But this time, Cenk felt the risk was worth it.

He shot right toward the dungeon.
