Chapter 576: Siege
The Vampire Scout moved swiftly through the hidden underground tunnel, leading to one of Statham’s lairs.
As he traveled for a while, he soon was met with a dead end. However, there was a concealed entrance leading into the depths of the earth. They simply have to pass through the illusion in front of them.
After he successfully passed through it, the atmosphere grew colder.
This was Statham’s main base of operations after all. It was previously a Zombie Lord’s Territory and Government’s secret laboratory but with his hard work, he was able to gain control of this location and removed all traces of it outside.
After a few more minutes, the Vampire Scout finally emerged into the heart of the Vampire Lord’s lair.
It wasn’t just a vast underground cavern but a true underground facility that was powered by electricity.
Inside Statham’s throne hall, there were plenty of blood crystals scattered around.
In the center of it all, Vampire Lord Statham seemed to be enjoying a drink. It seemed that he had recently obtained a high-ranking Survivor’s blood.
“Huuu~”
The presence of the Vampire Lod was truly overwhelming and the scout could fill it. The bloodline suppression. Since Statham possessed the purest blood of their clan, just his existence alone could suppress any Vampires in the area.
After a few moments, the scout fell to one knee and his head bowed low.
“My Lord Statham, I bring urgent news.” His voice trembled slightly.
Statham’s lips curled into a thin smile. “Speak.”
“The convoy has departed Eclipse Domain. Shane leads it himself. They head north, toward the Dreadnight Fortress.”
The Vampire Lord chuckled slightly… He actually had a total of five scouts monitoring the Eclipse Domain.
The others seemed to have been killed already and this scout was the only one remaining…
“So, the little king leaves his castle. How predictable.”
Statham considered for a moment as he tapped his fingers on the armrest of his throne.
“And the Domain?” He asked.
“Left under the care of his commanders. But without Shane and his strongest team, their defenses are weakened.”
Statham’s smile grew wider. “Perfect.”
He rose from his throne and his crimson cloak fluttered seemingly alive as it moved with him.
As soon as he stood up, numerous vampires immediately gathered.
Even without saying a word, the surrounding vampires bowed in submission.
“Summon the Blood Legion.” Statham spoke. “Five thousand of our finest. And a hundred Vampire Knights. It should be more than enough to bring that shelter down…”
The gathered vampires bowed down even more in acknowledgment. They were all filled with anticipation.
“We will not confront Shane head-on. No. Let him expend his strength on the Dreadnight Fortress.” Statham’s grin widened as he said this…
“Once he starts to siege the Fortress, we will strike his shelter… Raizen, bring a hundred Vampire Knights with you to block Shane’s retreat in case he hears the news about our attack.”
Raizen, one of the strongest Vampire Knights, nodded.
“The great Shane will know despair. And when his body is broken and his spirit shattered, I will drain him dry.” Raizen said as if he truly had the strength to deal with him.

Statham didn’t mind that Raizen was this confident as he needed him to be fearless if he wanted to stop Shane and his team.
Soon, the assembled vampires roared as they were itching to conquer the Eclipse Domain. That place was filled with quality blood after all.
Statham then turned to the crowd and firmly announced, “Prepare the Blood Legion. Tonight, we hunt.”

Hours had passed since Shane’s convoy should have been reaching the Fortress any minute now.
Of course, at this time, Statham was also monitoring the time… Even if there was no report from his Vampire Scouts yet, he knew that Shane would be starting the siege soon…
‘I guess let’s give him a few more minutes…’ Statham thought.
Even if word reached Shane about the sudden siege in his shelter, it would be too late for him to come back.
“Let him struggle…” Statham muttered with amusement as he gazed toward the distant, fortified walls of the Eclipse Domain.
“He won’t return in time to stop us.” Vampire Knight Cadre, who was standing behind Statham, muttered.
Statham smiled at this as he looked at the sky.
The sky above the Domain was gloomy. It was starting to cast a shadow across the landscape.
‘I guess even the gods were trying to make it easy for us.’ Statham thought. He was hoping that it would rain soon since that would surely help his Vampires.
Then, behind him, five thousand vampires stood in formation. He could see their crimson eyes filled with bloodlust. They all wanted to consume quality blood.
Many of them were clad in tattered black robes but those are the newer vampires… Most of them wore dark armor that enhanced their defense.
The Blood Legion was certainly a force to be reckoned with. After all, more than half of them weren’t summoned vampires but converted ones. Previous Survivors that had turned into Vampires…
They weren’t strong enough to become Vampire Knights but they all still possess regeneration powers that no other Survivors could compare with.
In front of the vampire soldiers were the elite Vampire Knights. There were one hundred strong vanguards wearing enchanted plate armor and weapons with corruption powers.
Statham then closed his eyes as if to feel the air before giving his command.
“Forward,” Statham said with a grin.
“Tear down their walls. Feed upon their fear. Let the Eclipse Domain fall.”
Just like that, the Blood Legion marched forward.

Needless to say, the huge movement of the Vampires had long been noticed by the scouts from the Eclipse Domain. However, Shane had already warned them of possible attacks, so none of them were actually worried about their situation.
Thud… Thud… Thud…
Soon, the vampires approached the Eclipse Domain with incredible speed. Well, the vampires were known for their inhuman agility and it even seemed like they were shadows darting through the field. But just as they drew near, they felt that the Eclipse Domain activated something…
Apparently, three barriers had been activated just now…
On normal days, there was only one of them working. However, once they were attacked by a huge force, Edwin or anyone assigned by Shane would activate more of these Barriers.
Statham looked at the translucent blue sphere of energy, stretching across the entire perimeter of the Domain. It wasn’t something new so he was no longer surprised.
As a matter of fact, Statham had already prepared the weapons they could use to deal with it. After all, he already attempted to attack this place before and learned about the barriers, automated turrets, and other defenses that this place could offer.
“Still, they really added something that expensive…. A Spirit Energy Barrier… predictable.”
But as the vampires prepared to unleash their magic to dismantle the shield, a fourth layer barrier layer appeared.
It was a red barrier and unlike the energy-based shield, this one was laced with powerful fire magic. It was Otto’s creation!
Four barriers?” Statham was amused as he looked at it.
“Shane certainly prepared well.”
However, he wasn’t concerned.
“They will fall soon enough.”

Before the vampires could test the barriers, several pieces of machinery started working from the walls of the Domain.
They were the Automated Turrets being activated as the Vampires got closer.
“Incoming fire!” One of the Vampire Knights shouted.
From the watchtowers and defensive outposts, 80 automated turrets were aimed at them. They knew all about these turrets but the Vampires still felt a bit concerned…
Even with their regeneration ability, there was still a threshold that they couldn’t cross.
Soon, the barrels of the turrets started rotating and firing bullets at them. It was followed by a deafening rumble of gunfire.
Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat!
Bullets ripped through the air, striking the vampires at the frontlines. Some stumbled, their bodies riddled with holes, but even grievous wounds did not stop them.
With the power of their cursed blood, they began regenerating — flesh started mending and bones could even knit back together.
But that wasn’t all.
“Flamethrowers!” One of the Vampires warned.
From the base of the walls, 20 flamethrowers immediately lit up the surroundings…
Torrents of scorching flames poured outward, burning away the vampires who dared to advance.
“Agh!”
Several anguished cries of burning vampires echoed across the battlefield. For all their regenerative abilities, the fire could turn them into ashes.
Even with the Blood Crystals assisting their regeneration, they weren’t able to save themselves once the flames consumed their bodies.
The fuels they were using were just that special!
“Very well… We’ll enter from the sky…” Staham muttered as he looked at Vampire Knight Cadre and a few others who had sneakily flown above the Eclipse Domain and dropped numerous explosives to open a path!
These explosives were something they had collected from other Survivor Shelters they raided and kept until today!
