Chapter 592: New Stats
Shane wasn’t sure how much time had passed but soon, there was only silence… The strange and painful sensation disappeared and his perception of the surroundings returned. Even Cloud’s connection to him had also reconnected as he left the mysterious space where he processed his transformation.
[ Void-Forged Ascension – Successful. ]

Voidwalker’s Agility ( Passive ): +20% speed, endurance, and energy recovery in void-like zones.
[ Unique Skill has been upgraded after obtaining Void-Forged Physique. ]
[ Unique Skill: Void Hunter’s Prowess: Amplifies your physical and mental capabilities, granting a level of immunity to spatial distortions and void-based attacks. ]
“These skills… Are you telling me I’ll be traveling through the void soon?” Shane squinted his eyes as he considered this happening.
However, after some thought, he realized that it might actually be possible considering how Statham was able to go through various Apocalypse Zones. Furthermore, once he cleared this Apocalypse, he would have a chance to transcend…
Previously, he was able to obtain a Squire-Class and Knight-Class rewards…
Perhaps, if he gets to clear this Apocalypse, he might have to also travel to a different one. After all, there were 9 Apocalypse not including the Vampire’s Rise.
‘Should I also clear the other Apocalypse?’ Shane mused.
However, he soon shook his head as this was a matter for the future.
For now, Shane decided to get used to his new physique.
He flexed his fingers, watching as faint remnant energy from the void-forged transformation sizzled between them before dissipating.
“This is interesting…” Shane mused as he realized that he was no longer just a simple Survivor at this point.
His current Ascension was a lot better than the previous two Apocalypses. It had literally changed his physique. It didn’t just put higher stats on him but it gave him a different status!

“Just like that, huh…” Shane muttered. He was actually quite surprised that he already reached the maximum stats. After all, he reached the Level 70 limit and only the Ascension Quest could help him obtain the Level 80 limit.
However, as he thought that he still had to work hard to level up from 70 to 80, the Ascension reward actually did it for him.
Nonetheless, because of his max stats, once he leveled, he would no longer obtain more stats unless he was able to obtain the item that could help him break through Level 80 and get the limit of Level 90.
That should give him another Maximum Limit for his Core Stats.

In the meantime, while Shane remained inside the chamber, the rest of his team moved swiftly to kill all the remaining Zombies.
They started sweeping through the fortress to eliminate every last zombie in this place and perhaps, make this place livable.
After all, they couldn’t deny that the fortress was in a strategic location and would be very difficult to siege once they claimed it.
“Find them, Roan…” Raze softly said to her dragon.
The Eclipse Wraith Colossus may be dead, but its minions still lurked all over the place.
Thankfully, Roan’s sense of smell was unmatched and he could find all these mindless, feral, and desperate Zombies.
Tundra, on the other hand, moved together with Layla as they started clearing the hallways on the east side.
“Alright, Layla. Just throw them and think of all of them as grenades.” Tundra said as he showed a bunch of rocks to Layla. All of these rocks had invisible bombs and Layla was a perfect Survivor to use them since she was a Telekinetic. With her talent, she could control these ‘bombs’ and eliminate hordes of zombies.
It was a lot more better or precise than Tundra throwing them out.

Aside from their group, there was also Kale and the others who had decided to assist Sol’s team who had been stopping the horde when they entered the Zombie Lord’s chamber.
“Kill them!”
Kale shouted as he looked at the horde of Spitter Zombies. The fortress already had crumbling halls and bloodstained corridors, but none of them cared about it as they focused on the Zombies.
Spat~
A dozen Spitter Zombies with their bloated sacs threw acidic bile at them…
“INCOMING!” Kale shouted as he raised his shield just as a torrent of corrosive spit rained down.
The others were also unharmed as they all had various defenses prepared and Shenlong even covered a huge part of them with his Aura Shield.
Sizz~
The acid sizzled against the metal, eating through it in seconds.
Then, there were another volley of acid spit but Nia was already moving.
“Nature’s Ward!” She slammed her staff into the ground, and a barrier of thorned vines erupted, catching the next volley of spit.
Raze, who had just dealt the other side of the horde, also arrived.
She was riding Roan, who was still recovering but battle-ready. Then, he unleashed a controlled flame burst, igniting the Spitters… Raze knew that they would explode but if she could destroy their core in time, that wouldn’t have to happen.
With that, Raze shot his gun several times and destroyed the Spitter Zombie Cores in time before they could explode.
Soon, the hallway was filled with the smell of burnt flesh as they eliminated all the Spitter Zombies.
However, they still had a lot of Zombies to deal with. Sol’s team, however, had already started resting while the rest were handled by Raze, Tundra, Shenlong, and the other top fighters of the team.

Deeper in the fortress, the team encountered a phalanx of Stone Zombies. They were Zombies with granite-like skin and they were blocking the path forward.
At this time, they needed stronger firepower to deal with them. Normal swords and bullets wouldn’t work well against them.
“Heavy hitters,” Shenlong said as he called for those high-penetration weapons or skills…
“Let’s crack them open.”
Otto said as he stepped forward… At this point, he already recovered most of his Spirit Points so he was ready for the fight.
Flames then started dancing along his fingertips as he looked at the Stone Zombies.
“Allow me.”
Soon, a couple of Inferno Lances formed in front of him…
Whoosh~ Whoosh~
A spiral of fire shot forward, superheating the Stone Zombies’ hides. This wasn’t something Otto could normally do but thanks to the recent battles against the Zombie Generals and the Zombie Lord, Otto was able to level up and gain better control of his Fire.
Boom!
The extreme temperature caused their rocky flesh to expand rapidly—and then shatter.
Otto continued this a few more times before stopping because of the skill cooldown.
Kale then charged in, using his Warhammer to pulverize the remaining weakened zombies into gravel.
“Like breaking pottery,” He muttered as he kicked aside a shattered torso.
This battle didn’t actually last that long thanks to Otto’s ability.
“Alright… Let’s move…” Sona said as she sensed the enemies in the next corridor.
Indeed. As soon as they reached the next place, they realized that it was filled with a thick, noxious fog.
“Careful… We’re dealing with Smoker Zombies…” She reminded.
She was sure that the Zombies were just lurking out of sight…
“They’re trying to suffocate us…” Vernon said as he considered backing away since he didn’t like having no vision of enemies. After all, he was a sniper and he wasn’t comfortable in close-quarter combat even if he had trained so hard.
“Let’s retreat… Vernon… Just ignite it.” Kale said.
As soon as he heard this, Vernon’s eyes lit up. After everyone retreated from the smoke, Vernon immediately acted.
“Let’s see…” Vernon said as he loaded a phosphorus round into his rifle.
Then, without hesitation, he fired.
BANG!
Just like that… The shot ignited the fog, creating a chain reaction of fire that burned away the smoke—and the Smokers hiding within!
Soon, charred corpses collapsed and many of them were still twitching as the team advanced forward!
They were eliminating these Zombies and they weren’t slow at all. Perhaps, it would only take about 30 minutes more and this whole fortress would fall to their hands.
