Chapter 637: Eclipse Domain
In the meantime, within the Eclipse Domain, the snow had already stopped falling…
Nonetheless, the air still remained frigid. After facing four Zombie Hordes, the battlefield was littered with the remnants of the previous clash. There were charred corpses, frozen bodies, and the occasional twitching limb as some Zombies weren’t truly yet, as they were just buried by other corpses.
Every time they stopped the Zombie Horde, they would have a quick break, and it was really important considering how this event would last for a whole day.
Of course, Shane was already helping on the front line to lessen the burden of his troops.
Then, as they rested, he would only loot a few Zombies and allow everyone else to get their Experience Points.
The loot was really not that important, and they only wanted Experience Points.
Since many of them consumed Double Experience Potions, they also started leveling up as the Zombie Hordes got cleared.
Thanks to that, their vitality, fatigue, and even their skill cooldowns were being restored.
As the team looted most of the Zombies, the ground began to tremble.
It seemed that the next horde was about to come.
“Contact!”
A scout’s voice crackled over the comms as he confirmed the arrival of the next horde.
“Fifth Horde inbound—2,000 Zombies. Half Tyrants, half Spitters. ETA: 90 seconds!”
Shane exhaled as he heard the report from the scouts.
“All units, prepare for engagement.” He immediately announced.
Soon, the 50 Warden Units stood in perfect formation just outside the outer wall’s gates.
Their barrier was ready to be activated the moment they were about to clash against the Zombies.
Of course, these barriers weren’t Sentinel Shields, but they were Shane’s Barrier Tokens. Well, Sentinel Shields were still quite expensive to make, so infusing his own Mana Barrier, a skill from Fairy Realm Apocalypse, allowed him to save money.
“Primary objective is to eliminate Tyrant Zombies… Snipers will suppress the Spitters…” Shane commanded…
Soon, the Wardens’ visors flickered as they received the command.
Then, they started marching forward while carrying their plasma-edged greatswords…
In the meantime, high atop the walls, the 10 Ballistae, their massive siege weapons—were already loaded with explosive-tipped bolts.
“Fire at will,” Shane ordered since he certainly had to support his Warden Units before they engage in close combat.
Whoosh~ Whoosh~
The first volley screamed through the air, and upon contact with the targets, they all detonated!
This happened amidst the approaching horde.
Boom! Boom!
Dozens of Tyrant Zombies were blown backward. Their tough hides cracked but not broken. They were still too durable.
However, the momentum of the Zombies had been broken and their defense had weakened. A few more volleys and they would surely fall.
This time, however, Spitter Zombies were targeted as they soon burst from the explosion!

Their acidic innards splattered everywhere, even on other Zombies, adding more damage to them.
“Direct hits! But the Tyrants are still coming!” A spotter yelled.
At this time, Harry, Ziya, and all other mechanics went to a spot to watch the battle that was about to happen.
They were the engineers who had created Warden Units and were important members of the Humanoid Robotics Division in New Genesis Shelter.
Well, they had been sent here for possible repair works and had to be prepared at all times.
“Warden Units… Please don’t disappoint.” Harry, who had a Salvage Instinct Talent, prayed silently.
“They passed all the tests that Lord Shane had arranged. I’m sure they will be just fine.” Ziya added, as she also knew the capabilities of the Warden Units.
With the advanced weapons equipped to them, they could surely fight against High-Tier Zombies. Furthermore, they had the support of many snipers and turrets…
Clank… Clank… Clank…
Indeed, the 20 Automated Turrets mounted along the walls started moving… Just now, their targeting systems locked onto the Spitters first as Cloud controlled them to find their targets.
“Acid-spitters are priority! Light ’em up!”
Soon, Gatling barrels spun and unleashed a storm of high-caliber rounds!
Spitter Zombies soon exploded as they do not have a defensive hide like the Tyrants. They were a lot more squishy and easier to target, also because of their color and size.
Rooaaar!
After a few more moments, the Tyrant Zombies finally slammed into the Warden Units like a living avalanche.
Large fists of the Tyrants crashed against energy shields of the Warden Units, sending shockwaves through the ground…
Bang!
One Warden was lifted clean off its feet by a Tyrant’s knockout punch, only to drive its Greatsword through the zombie’s skull mid-air.
Another grappled a Tyrant to the ground, and its plasma blade seared through the monster’s spine.
“Go…” Shane and everyone else watched as the Warden Units showed how great they were as soldiers.
But the remaining Spitters weren’t idle.
From the rear, arcs of acid blobs passed over the Tyrants and splashed against the Wardens’ armor. The metal hissed and smoked, but their defenses held—for now.
“Snipers! Take out the Spitters!” Shane ordered as the Spitters had to be stopped.
Justl like that, fifty elite marksmen—perched on the Watchtowers, on the walls, and other tall buildings, took careful aim.
“Light rounds only. No explosives—we don’t need acid mist…” Shane reminded, worried that if they had more acid explosions, his Warden Units might have trouble.
Bang!
Soon, a gunshot echoed across the battlefield…
Then, it was followed by several more… Each gunshot would hit the heads of the Spitters, and there might be a large number of them, but they wouldn’t be able to survive for long.
One by one, Spitter Zombies dropped, their bloated heads vaporized by armor-piercing rounds!
After a few moments, a scout reported.
“That’s 200 down!”
“Keep firing!”
After some time, the Warden Units, now free from acid harassment, pushed forward…
Of course, Shane and Cloud made sure to observe this battle as they needed to know what kind of improvement they had to make.
They knew for a fact that the Warden Units weren’t perfect and needed adjustments as they got more combat date out of them…
They watched as one of them ducked under a Tyrant’s swing, bisecting it at the waist.
Another stomped on a fallen zombie’s skull, crushing it like an egg before dashing towards the Tyrant Zombies…
Then, a few of them would be grabbed and bitten by the Tyrants and there was nothing they could do but struggle and injure the Tyrants as much as they could before being out of commission.
“They’re programmed really well, Cloud.” Shane commented as he watched two Wardens working together to tear the Tyrant’s arm off and beat it to death with its own limb after their greatswords and rifles were destroyed.
Indeed, they knew how to improvise their weapons!
After a few moments, Shane then heard another volley of large arrow bolts being released.
The Ballistae units fired and this time, they were aiming for the Tyrant Zombies further at the back to break their forward momentum…
Boom! Boom!
The explosions shattered the kneecaps of the Zombies, sending the giants crashing to the ground. Now that their feet were injured, they had become easy prey for the Wardens.
By the hour’s end, the field was a graveyard of broken monsters.
All 1,000 Spitter Zombies were dead… Then, the other 1,000 Tyrants were also eliminated, but it happened way later due to their incredible vitality.
[ Wave repelled. ] Cloud announced.
[ Minimal structural damage. Warden Units: 30 operational. 6 heavily damaged but repairable. 14 with minor damage. ]
“Only six were heavily damaged… That’s not a bad result. Let’s have the 14 units immediately repaired.” Shane ordered.
“The next horde won’t be as forgiving, so we have to hurry…”

Just like that, looting, reloading, repairing, and even eating some food occurred as the horde of Zombies was repelled.
Nonetheless, the battlefield had barely settled from the last assault when the scouts’ voices crackled over the comms.
From the sound of his voice, he was definitely tensed….
“Movement at the tree line—500 hostiles inbound! All Hunter Zombies!”
Shane’s gaze snapped toward the horizon.
Hunter Zombies were High Tier… They were all lean, fast, and vicious… But then came the next report, and the air in Eclipse Domain seemed to freeze.
“Confirmed Zombie Lord among them! Repeat, Zombie Lord is leading this wave!”
A murmur rippled through the defenders.
Zombie Lords were rare, and each one was a catastrophe waiting to happen.
They barely encountered Zombie Leaders, and they didn’t even meet a Zombie King or Zombie Generals yet.
However, here they are, about to face the random Zombie Lord that the system notified them about.
Shane stepped onto the command platform, as he studied the approaching horde.
There, amidst the five hundred Hunters, walked a single figure.
This Zombie Lord was actually unremarkable. He was human-sized and almost… casual.
However, there were a few tells that made them realize that it was a Zombie Lord…
The first one was definitely its dark miasma oozing out from its body!
