Chapter 648: The Silver Mine Shelter
On the southeast gate, Tundra also confirmed the presence of the Fiend Zombies.

“They’re also coming here, huh…” Tundra muttered to himself.

He then swiftly stepped forward to handle this matter…

His Terrorist Talent was one of the most feared or perhaps desired in the shelter. After all, this power was simply too incredible…

Tundra just crouched, touched a rock he prepared, and soon, it was ready to explode…

He touched a few more objects—broken bricks, zombie skulls, a rusty shield, and other things. Well, after several Zombie Hordes, his various grenades or bombs had already been used, so he could only use any random objects he found on the ground or maybe useless items that he somehow looted, like the Zombie Skulls.

Then, Tundra started throwing them to the Zombies!

“Detonate.”

BOOM! BOOM! KRAKOOM!

A chain explosion decimated a cluster of Fiend Zombies. The very terrain exploded, tearing through zombies with indiscriminate fire.

Tundra looked at the sight and felt that it was not enough… Then, he threw a bit more grenades before feeling satisfied…

After that, Tundra decided to fight at closer range. He was already Level 55 after all.

With his current Strength, Agility, including his set of equipment from a Zombie Lord, he was confident that no one could stop him at all…

Soon, he grabbed a Fiend Zombie by the face and planted a bomb on it… Since he was able to plant the bomb on its head, Tundra just used his weakest bomb, the Explosive Fire…

“Die…”

BOOM!

The Howler detonated in a burst of black flame.

Just like that, Tundra continued on his rampage and killed all the Fiends and a few Howler Zombies on his side.

Although these Zombies were also quite strong, they weren’t Zombie Lords yet. They would still die if their heads or brains were destroyed. Even if they could survive for some time due their vitality, it was only a matter of time before they collapse.

In the meantime, on the rear lines, Zephyrion, the Abyssal Scholar of the Void, or what everyone calls a Necromancer, stood over a summoning circle.

“Risen of silver bone, awaken.” He muttered.

Unlike Asad, who could use the system’s abilities and the Grimoire’s powers, Zephyrion, whom Shane had purchased in the Slave Auction, was more like a traditional Necromancer who needed rituals, sacrifices, mediums, and other methods in order to summon undead creations.

Nonetheless, it didn’t mean that Zephyrion was weaker than Asad… After all, the creatures he could summon weren’t any weaker than the ones summoned by Asad.

From beneath the ground, corpses of old miners and warriors emerged… They seemed normal at first but parts of their flesh were missing and one could see their shining silver bones!

Indeed, these undead creatures were Silver Skeletons, Their bones were infused with enchanted silver, resistant to corrosion and plague. It was all thanks to the Silver Mine Camp that he was able to get so many resources for these hybrid skeletons.

“Attack. Give them no mercy.”

Soon, the Silver Skeletons, with bits of flesh here and there, surged into the battlefield, slicing through weaker zombies… To be exact, the Hallow Eyes Zombies, who had incredible biting force, were no match for them.

Their teeth could not break the Silver Skeletons, and thus, the battle became a lot easier for them.

However, if these Skeletons faced Tyrant Zombies or something similar, they’d surely get crushed with a single swing of their arms…

Because of that, Zephyrion couldn’t just let them be. He had to send more to balance the battle… Soon, he raised his hand again.

From the ritual circle that he had made, three Corpse Golems suddenly appeared!

They were large and heavy Undead Creatures that had similarities with Juggernaut Zombies… Soon, they started swatting the Bloated Zombies aside to assist the Silver Skeletons.

Diana heard the various reports from the scouts and felt satisfied.

“They’re all doing well… There shouldn’t be a problem holding on.” Diana muttered as she glanced at the main gate of the shelter where Lysanda and several Warden Units were working together to halt the advance of the Zombies.

After all, the Zombie Grinder wasn’t invincible. It also had a limit to how much Zombie it could grind every second.

If it was overwhelmed, like the previous Zombie Waves, repairing it would be extremely difficult for them. Because of that, once the Zombie Grinder had reached its limit, they had to swiftly send their forces in order to help alleviate the pressure.

This was where Lysandra, the rest of the Warden Units, and the Watchtowers came.

In the vanguard, Lysandra dashed between the Howler Zombies…

Her talent—Fast Learner—had allowed her to mirror nearly every sword technique Shane ever displayed during their time together.

She used Veiled Step to swiftly pass through three zombies and behead them using his Horizontal Slash.

Then, with a Force Breaker Skill, she also easily cut through a charging Bloated Zombie’s legs.

She then noticed a group of eight Howler Zombies coming at her and confirmed that all the Warden Units around were also busy fighting their marked Zombies…

“Hmph! Come out!” Lysandra shouted as she activated the Wolf Spirit Ring.

[ Wolf Spirit Ring ( Epic ): A ring crafted from the fang of a mighty wolf, radiating an aura of a wolf’s strength and ferocity.

Effects: +20% Damage to Wolves, +15% Health Regeneration

Special Effect:

Howl: Summons two spectral wolf companions with 300 Vitality Points to aid in combat. Duration: 300 seconds. Cost: 150 Spirit Points. ]

This Wolf Spirit Ring was something she had obtained before from an Alpha Wolf Zombie.

Soon, a couple of Spectral Wolves appeared!

They were only active for 300 seconds but it was more than enough for her to deal with the pressure of the Zombie Horde!

Awooo~

Just like that, the two wolves pounced through the Zombies, helping Lysandra even just for a bit…

After that, Lysandra used her Shadowmeld as she planned to eliminate the Leader Zombies that she had just seen. After all, these Howler Leader and Fiend Leader Zombies were the ones truly damaging their Warden Units. They were also smart enough to order the Zombies under their command to avoid the Zombie Grinder!

Because of that ,Lysandra used the ability of the Cape that she got from Shane.

[ Shroud of Shadows Cape ( Epic ): Woven from a fabric that seems to absorb light, this cape cloaks the wearer in shadows. The outer layer is treated with a rare compound that diffuses light, rendering the wearer nearly invisible in low-light conditions.

Effects: +20 Agility, +50% Movement Speed

Special Effect:

Perfect Shadowmeld: When activated, the wearer fades into the shadows, becoming undetectable to the naked eye until the Spirit Points used disappear.

Cost: 1 Spirit Point per second ]

The Shadowmeld only costs 1 Spirit Point per second, so she didn’t mind using it for some time as well.

“Diana, I’ll deal with the Leader Zombies… Just keep the pressure on!” Lysandra reported through the comms.

“Got it! Please be careful. Retreat immediately if you’re in danger. I’ll have a couple of snipers to assist you.” Diana swiftly replied as she continued to monitor the battlefield.

She had to be perfect at this as she needed their turrets and various supports to focus on areas that needed help.

In the meantime, on the western wall, Minerva stood with a massive Epic-Grade Hammer, an item so heavy that only with 200 Strength Points could wield it, was finally on her move…

Will, she didn’t have 200 Strength Points at all. However, because of her special arm that she obtained from the Ivory Gear Shelter through Lysandra’s help, she was able to lift it easily and it became her most powerful weapon!

Soon, she launched into a group of Bloated Zombies, hammering one with a ground-cracking smash that sent shockwaves through the ground…

Boom!

Her machine arm whirred and hissed as she charged with more Spirit Stones into the hammer and slammed it down.

“Just die!”

With another wave of her hammer, the bodies of the Zombies flew.

Meanwhile, on the watchtower, Tieria, with his mechanical eye, adjusted her sniper scope as he started targeting some Zombies that were overwhelming Warden Units.

Apparently, the Bloated Zombies were simply too hard to deal with if they didn’t target the head. Its flesh was too sturdy, and energy bullets from Turrets and normal piercing rounds of rifles weren’t enough unless they hit their heads!

“Wind… 12 knots. Not bad.”

BLAM!

His sniper round—a silver-plated core pierced through three zombies and exploded inside the fourth!

Then, he silently reloaded and fired again… This continued until he confirmed that the pressure on the Warden Units was lifted…

After that, he heard Diana’s instructions once again.

“Eight Howler Zombies opened a hole in the barrier… Assist the ground units.” Diana commanded through the comms.

“Roger that…” Tieria replied and swiftly checked the area Diana had pointed out.

Then, as soon as he shifted his position, he heard a panicked voice from the radio…

“Tieria! Run—” The voice came from Diana, and before he could process it, he immediately felt the danger, and soon, the watchtower he was on exploded!
