Chapter 100: Playing Blackjack Against The Masked Dealer
In the casino, Kayden and Shirohige couldn’t find any unusual things aside from the dealer who wore a black trench coat and black mask.

Speculating that the suspicious dealer might be a special event NPC, Kayden, and Shirohige decided to at least try their luck.

With that in mind, both Kayden and Shirohige listened to the suggestion of the bunny girl maid and headed to the poker table where the suspicious dealer was at.

When Kayden and Shirohige arrived, the masked dealer glanced at them with its ebony black eyes.

Before Kayden and Shirohige could speak, the masked dealer spoke first, “Defeat me in Blackjack, I’ll give you an item that can save your life.”

Hearing the masked dealer’s hoarse voice that challenged the two of them, Kayden and Shirohige’s attention was piqued.

Both Kayden and Shirohige looked at each other, thinking about which of the two of them to play against the masked dealer.

Ultimately, Shirohige gave in, “Kayden, you are luckier than me so you go ahead and play with him. Furthermore, we don’t know what that guy wants to bet with so it’s better for you to play against him so you can use me as your bet if that ever happens.”

Hearing Shirohige’s words, Kayden didn’t disagree and nodded towards Shirohige.

Both Kayden and Shirohige didn’t have any money on their bodies. The only one who had valuables was GoldMiner who wore a lot of gold accessories.

It was too inconvenient to go to the library just to ask GoldMiner for some golden accessories that they could use for betting. And with how unusual this game was, Kayden and Shirohige didn’t believe that the masked dealer would want to use simple valuables for betting.

Noticing that Kayden and Shirohige had decided which one of them would play with him, the masked dealer gestured for Kayden to sit on the chair opposite him.

Kayden understood the gesture of the masked dealer. Without any hesitation, Kayden sat on the chair and sat opposite the masked dealer.

When Kayden sat on the chair, the masked dealer spoke with a hoarse voice, “We will gamble in blackjack.”

The masked dealer took out a deck of cards and placed it on the poker table. Afterward, he started shuffling the cards and asked Kayden, “Do you have anything valuable to bet with?”

In response, Kayden looked at Shirohige, and seeing Shirohige shake his head and show his empty pockets, Kayden answered, “Unfortunately, we have none.”

The masked dealer dismissed Kayden’s answer, “Material objects aren’t valuable in my eyes. You two still have something valuable. And that’s…”

After pausing for a while, the masked dealer pointed towards Kayden and Shirohige and spoke in a bone-chilling voice, “YoUr SoUL!”

Hearing the masked dealer’s words, Kayden and Shirohige weren’t surprised since they had seen this kind of scene from an anime before.

Because of that, Kayden decided to mess with the masked dealer, “Okay, I’m willing to bet Kekyoin’s soul!”

The masked dealer seemed to have understood Kayden’s reference but he shook his head, “You don’t have permission to use his soul.”

Seeing that he couldn’t use Kekyoin’s soul, Kayden sighed and glanced at Shirohige, “Bro, can I borrow your soul for a sec? I’ll return it when I win.”

Normally, a person wouldn’t allow a teenager to borrow their soul in a gambling match against a masked dealer.

However, who said this game was normal?

Shirohige had already expected this so he could only sigh, twirl his white mustache with his finger, and rely on Kayden, “Sure, use my soul. If you lose in the first game, use the soul of the other Dislord admins. The worst that can happen is we restart the game.”

After Kayden received Shirohige’s permission, the masked dealer snapped his fingers and a casino chip that had the symbol of Shirohige’s face appeared on the poker table in front of Kayden.

There were five casino chips that had Shirohige’s face on them and they were all given to Kayden.

After handing the casino chips to Kayden, the masked dealer created five chips on his side which were all white-colored.

After the two of them both have their casino chips for betting, the masked dealer spoke, “If you lose all chips, that guy will lose his soul and I will obtain ownership of it.”

“But if you get all five chips that I have, I will give you the item that can save your life in Vacation Paradise Island.”

Hearing the masked dealer’s explanation, Kayden nodded his head in agreement and signaled that he was willing to start the game now. Kayden placed one casino chip as his bet to test the waters.

Seeing that Kayden agreed and had already bet, the masked dealer shuffled the deck of cards.

After shuffling the deck of cards, the masked dealer dealt one card face up to Kayden which revealed a “king of spades” card.

On the other hand, the masked dealer dealt one card face up to himself which revealed an “ace of hearts” card.

Seeing that his hand has a value of “hard 10” while the masked dealer’s hand has a value of “soft 11”, Kayden trusted his luck and said, “Hit.”

The masked dealer dealt another face-up card to Kayden which revealed an “ace of spades” card, allowing Kayden to have a hand that has a value of “soft 21”.

In other words, Kayden won the game!

The masked dealer abided by the rules and gave Kayden one white-colored casino chip.

Now, Kayden has five Shirohige symboled casino chips and one white-colored casino chip. He needed to get four more white-colored casino chips from the masked dealer and he would be able to win the game item from the masked dealer.

The masked dealer would give him a white-colored casino chip depending on the number of Shirohige symboled casino chips that he bet. Since he bet only one Shirohige symboled casino chip, Kayden only received one white-colored casino chip.

Having great trust in his luck, Kayden decided to go all in as he bet all the chips he had!

After Kayden placed his bet, the dealer took all of the cards and started shuffling them.

A new round will start with every chip Kayden had at stake!
