Chapter 101: Red Purification Pill
The masked dealer dealt Kayden with one faced-up card and this time, Kayden’s first card was a “nine of hearts”.

The masked dealer dealt himself with a faced-up card and it was a “ten of clubs” card.

After seeing his first card, Kayden frowned and felt that his luck wasn’t as good as before. Nonetheless, he continued the game since he had already bet everything on this, “Hit.”

The masked dealer dealt another faced-up card to Kayden which was a “nine of diamonds” card.

Seeing that Kayden hadn’t won yet, the masked dealer dealt himself a card as well but it was faced-down.

Currently, Kayden has a card with a value of “hard 18”. He was close to being bust and if he got a card with a value of more than 3, he would lose the game.

There was a lot of risk in hitting and receiving another card but Kayden knew that if he didn’t achieve a value of 21, he would lose since the masked dealer must have rigged the game.

Gritting his teeth, Kayden decided to risk it, “Hit.”

The masked dealer dealt another card to Kayden and he received a “two of clubs”.

Shirohige who was watching all of this had already experienced an increase in heart rate and he was even biting his nails nervously.

After all, his soul was at stake!

If Kayden lost, then it would be game over for Shirohige and possibly the other teammates as well.

Shirohige believed that if Kayden lost this gamble, then no one could ever win against the masked dealer. If even Kayden’s luck wouldn’t guarantee him a win, then they were doomed and could only restart the game and try their luck next game session.

Seeing Kayden’s cards, the masked dealer spoke with his usual hoarse and cold voice, “Do you want to hit?”

“Only an Ace card can allow you to get a value of 21. Other cards will result in a bust.”

The masked dealer wasn’t lying since the value of an Ace card was either 1 or 11 depending on the situation.

However, Kayden also knew that he had to get a value of 21 no matter what. That was his gut instinct since he felt that the masked dealer might get a blackjack no matter what.

The only way to defeat the masked dealer was to get a 21 a lot earlier than him.

As long as he got a blackjack first, then his luck might help him in preventing the masked dealer’s hole card from being an Ace card.

So no matter what, Kayden was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He could only trust his luck as he decided, “Hit!”

Hearing Kayden’s decision, the masked dealer dealt another face-up card to Kayden.

It was an “ace of clubs” card.

In other words, Kayden has a soft hand with a value of “21”!

Of course, if the masked dealer’s hole card was an Ace card as well, then the masked dealer would have blackjack which would result in Kayden’s loss.

However, when the masked dealer flipped up his hole card, it revealed a “nine of spades” card which meant that the masked dealer’s hand had a value of “hard 19”.

Since it wasn’t 21 yet, the masked dealer had to take another card but the third card was a “four of diamonds”. In total, he had a value of “hard 23” which was a bust, leading to his loss.

When Kayden witnessed that the masked dealer had lost and he had won, he was exhilarated!

“Fuck! I won! I knew I could trust my luck!”

In response to Kayden’s celebration, the masked dealer’s hoarse voice interjected, “I admit, you won.”

Afterward, the masked dealer snapped his fingers which made all the chips on the poker table disappear. In its place, a glass bottle with a red pill appeared on the poker table.

The masked dealer explained while pointing to the glass bottle containing the red pill, “This is the Red Purification Pill. It can purify anyone who consumes it and removes any conceptual filth or pollution on them such as mental pollution, spirit pollution, etc.”

“You should already have been aware of the evil spirits and monsters in Vacation Paradise Island. After all, you players have entered this game to participate in Aspro’s game.”

The masked dealer was a special event NPC so he knew a lot about the real world and he also had partial admin authority. Unlike special NPCs who could leave the game world and travel to the real world, special event NPCs like the masked dealer couldn’t leave the game world even if they fulfilled their role.

So, the masked dealer didn’t care whether the players won the game or not so he didn’t bother to cheat. He only obliged with the rules of the game. Even if Kayden won, the masked dealer didn’t do anything that prevented Kayden from receiving his reward.

However, after the masked dealer handed the bottle of red pill to Kayden, the masked dealer asked, “Do you want to gamble with me in Texas hold’em poker?”

“You will bet the Red Purification Pill. In return, I will wager the Gambling Authority which allows you to create a domain where no abilities or power could be used.”

“With the Gambling Authority, you can let the other party wager something conceptual such as their soul or lifespan or even as far as their luck and fate. However, you must also wager something equivalent to it unless otherwise specified by the other party.”

“However, you can’t force someone to gamble with you. But if you made them accept the gamble and they offered a bet, they can in no way attack you as no abilities or power can be used while in the domain. During an ongoing gamble, no one can interfere as their abilities or power will also be nullified.”

After explaining the power of the Gambling Authority, the masked dealer asked Kayden, “So, are you interested in gambling with me?”
