Chapter 104: Eating Contest And Penalty For Failure
“Why you ask? That’s because you are an Authority User. You can also be considered as my successor.”
After answering Kayden’s question, the masked dealer’s hoarse voice spoke harshly, “Don’t think that I didn’t notice your luck. If it was that white-mustached friend of yours who gambled with me, he’d lose. But you are lucky that your luck lived up to your expectations.”
“Gambling requires both skill and luck. However, in your case, your luck is so high that it compensates for your lack of skill. I suggest you learn gambling since as long as you both have skill and luck at the same time, your Gambling Authority will be invincible.”
Hearing the masked dealer’s advice, Kayden nodded his head, “I will.”
Although the masked dealer had exposed his use of luck, Kayden didn’t mind since he indeed had relied on his luck. If not for gambling requiring luck as well, then Kayden would have lost if it was something that heavily relied on skill rather than luck.
However, gambling might require skill, but it heavily relied on luck instead. Unless the dealer or player cheated then it would be reliant on skill instead.
…
In the dining room, Ayame and ProGamerXD were met with the staff of the luxury cruise ship.
They seemed to have anticipated their arrival which explained the abundant amount of food prepared in the dining room. Those buffet of food were still steaming hot and their delicious scent wafted towards Ayame and ProGamerXD, increasing their appetite.
A person wearing chef attire walked towards Ayame and ProGamerXD.
Amidst Ayame and ProGamerXD’s gazes, the chef smiled and spoke, “I know why you are here. There aren’t any game items that can be found here. However, you can earn them by defeating me in an eating contest.”
“And if you performed well enough, I can also offer a better reward than the game item. As for what that special reward is, I won’t say until either the two of you meet the requirements.”
Hearing the chef’s words, Ayame asked, “Do you swear in Aspro’s name that you aren’t lying?”
Ayame was well aware of how highly the NPCs regarded Aspro’s existence. Aspro was like the biblical god in the eyes of the NPCs.
The difference was that the special event NPCs had likely met Aspro which further proved his existence. Unlike those other gods in Blue Star which were likely just fictional existences used to deceive and manipulate those sheeples.
Because of that, the NPCs regard Aspro as their god and they wouldn’t dare to use the god’s name in vain.
Hearing Ayame’s question, the chef remained unfazed and raised his hand as he swore an oath, “I swear in Aspro’s name that I am not lying and will never deceive you players.”
The chef was a special event NPC so he was a neutral existence in most cases. Unless the players crossed the line, a special event NPC wouldn’t actively offend a player.
After all, the special event NPC knew how much Aspro cared about the potential of those players in Blue Star. Unless the special event NPC wanted to offend Aspro, they wouldn’t dare to deceive the players.
When Ayame and ProGamerXD heard the chef swear an oath using Aspro’s name without any hesitation, the two of them were relieved.
After all, Aspro was a god in the game world so it was very reliable if an NPC swore on his name. However, the two of them had to admit that if the chef broke his word and Aspro didn’t punish him, then it would indeed be a problem.
However, if that was the case, then they couldn’t do anything as that was above their capabilities. They could only focus on what they could do and not what they couldn’t do. They didn’t want to overestimate their capabilities.
“How do you measure the amount of food we consume? And is there any time limit?”
Hearing Ayame’s question, the chef replied, “The dining tables will be separated into three. The maids will serve the food on the dining tables in an absolutely equal manner.”
“There isn’t any time limit and the first to eat the food served on the dining table would be the winner.”
When the chef mentioned that, Ayame and ProGamerXD nodded their heads. They realized the reason why there were three dining tables filled with food in the dining room.
It seemed that they had to defeat the chef in an eating contest.
After knowing the chef’s challenge, Ayame asked ProGamerXD, “Are you a foodie? Can you win this one?”
In response, ProGamerXD blushed in embarrassment and coughed, “Is eating potato chips and drinking coke considered a foodie?”
Ayame facepalmed after hearing ProGamerXD’s words.

‘We are screwed. This guy is not reliable.’
Although Ayame was a solo player, she would still rely on and cooperate with her teammates if it was multiplayer. It just so happened that aside from playing games, ProGamerXD couldn’t be relied on.
However, ProGamerXD was still trustworthy and reliable as a Dislord admin so that’s the reason why Ayame allowed him to become her Dislord admin.
‘Sigh, it has been a long time since I ate that much. I hope I still have the same appetite as I had before.’
As a martial artist, Ayame had a huge appetite since she needed to consume a lot of food to maintain her body at its optimum state. Her metabolism was quite high and in terms of food consumption, it was still higher than her brother’s.
That was the only reason why she didn’t give up yet since she knew that she still had some chances to win against that chef in an eating contest.
After deciding to participate regardless of whether ProGamerXD could win or not, Ayame asked the chef, “What if we lose to you in the eating contest?”
When the chef heard Ayame’s question, a dangerous and murderous glint flashed in the chef’s eyes as he spoke with a voice that sent chills to their spine, “Then I will cook and eat you two!”
