Chapter 107: Gourmet Authority
After hearing the chef’s explanation regarding the Gourmet Authority, Ayame’s attention was piqued and she could already guess that the authorities were the main power that players could obtain in Cozy Vacation Life.

However, unlike superpowers in Zombie Survival Online where NPCs and players could have similar superpowers, authorities were unique to only one player or NPC. Because of that, Ayame knew that it was on a first come first serve basis. She needed to obtain her own authority before the other players beat her to it.

However, it seemed that none of the one million players that had already played Cozy Vacation Life had ever encountered any authorities. Or more like, none of them had even obtained game items on the luxury cruise ship.

Even finding the silver engagement ring and golden engagement ring under the swimming pool was difficult for most players. After all, none of them would even have the idea of surveying the luxury cruise ship.

The average player would only believe that the real game would start in Vacation Paradise Island. It was indeed true but the ways to easily deal with the horrors in Vacation Paradise Island could be found in the luxury cruise ship.

Ayame believed that Aspro wouldn’t add unnecessary things to his game. The players starting at the luxury cruise ship instead of directly on Vacation Paradise Island was due to preparing against the horrors in Vacation Paradise Island.

Even without the authorities, the Eternal Beef of Satiation and the Red Purification Pill were already useful game items. So even if the players couldn’t get the authorities, obtaining those two game items was a must if they wanted to last long enough in Vacation Paradise Island.

‘I don’t know if the others have encountered or obtained authority from the special event NPCs. But no matter what, I must have the Gourmet Authority. So even if the chef’s challenge is difficult to complete and I might suffer from diabetes, I have to do it!’

With that motivation in mind, Ayame nodded at the chef and agreed, “I accept your challenge.”

After Ayame accepted the chef’s challenge, the chef clapped his hands and the maids cleared up the dining table.

Serving all those desserts until Ayame and the chef’s dining table were filled up with it, the maids returned to their formation as they stood at the sides of the dining room.

The chef gestured for Ayame to sit on her chair. Ayame listened to the chef and sat on her chair.

As soon as Ayame sat on her chair, the eating competition dessert edition had started!

“You can do it, Ayame!”

ProGamerXD had already been woken up by Ayame before so he had witnessed everything that had transpired after Ayame acquired the Eternal Beef of Satiation.

He knew that he couldn’t do anything other than cheer for Ayame.

ProGamerXD was very confident in other things aside from mundane stuff such as eating. He never expected that he would encounter an eating competition which showed his pathetic side.

If it was other competitions, ProGamerXD was confident that even if he didn’t win, he wouldn’t lose that badly and pathetically.

Though, if there was a slow-eating competition, ProGamerXD was confident that he would win. Unfortunately, it was a fast eating competition so ProGamerXD made a fool of himself in front of his idol.

The only silver lining for him was that Ayame didn’t treat him as trash despite acting like one.

While ProGamerXD was cheering Ayame, the eating competition between Ayame and the chef ensued.

Half an hour passed and soon enough, the victor of the eating competition was decided.

“Sigh, I might suffer from diabetes after eating all of those desserts.”

Ayame sighed after she ate the last scoop of ice cream.

Compared to her whose dining table was already empty with nothing but unwashed dishes, the chef still had 2% of the desserts left on his dining table.

It was a close battle between Ayame and the chef and that was due to Ayame having eaten more than the chef in the first eating competition.

So when the second eating competition started, the chef had an advantage against Ayame which was the reason why the gap was quite close between them.

If Ayame wasn’t full from the first eating competition, she would have defeated the chef in the second competition a lot sooner.

Fortunately, she won regardless of her disadvantage in the second eating competition and that’s what all that mattered.

“Congratulations on winning the second eating competition. As agreed, here’s the Gourmet Authority.”

After the second eating competition had ended, the chef congratulated Ayame and handed a yellow-colored ball of light towards her.

The yellow-colored ball of light flew towards Ayame before it integrated into her body.

After Ayame fully integrated with the Gourmet Authority, the chef commented, “As I have said before, the Gourmet Authority can only be wielded by one person at a time. So as soon as I have given it to you, the other selves of mine in other servers can no longer give out the Gourmet Authority as a reward.”

“Or at least, they can’t give it until you lose possession of the Gourmet Authority.”

Hearing the chef’s comment, Ayame understood what he meant.

The Gourmet Authority could be lost if she experienced a game over. Or, she won the game but didn’t bring the Gourmet Authority to the real world.

Ayame wasn’t that confident that she could clear Cozy Vacation Life in the first attempt. But she only wanted to last as long as possible to obtain more information.

In this first game session, Ayame realized the importance of the luxury cruise ship storyline so she planned to survey the other facilities inside the luxury cruise ship.

After she obtained the Gourmet Authority, Ayame no longer felt full since her Gourmet Authority had already digested the food and desserts she had eaten before, granting her some physical power.

If before, Ayame was only at E+ rank, now she was at D- rank in all her physical attributes.
