Chapter 108: Gathering At The Atrium
In the library, Bianca was already starting to get worried.

She glanced at the wall clock in the library and muttered, “It has already been thirty minutes since GoldMiner entered the secret passage.”

“He hasn’t returned yet so something bad must have happened to him. As he had told me before, I have no choice but to return to the atrium and inform the others about GoldMiner’s demise.”

After Bianca had that decision in mind, she no longer guarded the secret passage and immediately left the library.

In the atrium, all four out of five teams were drinking either wine or juice.

Winston and Kuroneko had already returned since they didn’t find anything in the pool other than the two engagement rings.

The same went for Kayden and Shirohige who had enough fun from the casino and were currently drinking wine after they were served by the bartender.

Kenshi and JordanPlayz had also returned to the atrium after their search in the gym was fruitless. Aside from the sweat on their bodies that indicated their previous workout in the gym, the two of them didn’t find any game items in the gym.

Kenshi and JordanPlayz’s search was fruitless which made them slightly depressed. Only drinking good wine in the atrium soothed their bad mood.

“The three of you have obtained game items and authorities while only JordanPlayz and I returned empty-handed.”

Kenshi said depressingly as he drank a glass of wine.

It was only their team that didn’t acquire any game item or authority so Kenshi and JordanPlayz were in a bad mood. Even Winston and Kuroneko obtained two engagement rings from the swimming pool so even if they didn’t obtain any authority, they were still in a better situation than Kenshi and JordanPlayz.

In response to Kenshi’s depression, Winston drank a glass of apple juice and wondered, “How come there are only eight of us here? Why haven’t Bianca and GoldMiner returned to the atrium yet?”

Before Winston could further ask, someone entered the atrium in hurried footsteps.

Seeing Bianca’s return, they breathed a sigh of relief since nothing bad happened to her.

But when they noticed that GoldMiner didn’t return with Bianca, the expression of the eight of them became grim.

Even Shirohige who was intoxicated from drinking wine had donned a solemn expression on his face as if his previous intoxicated state was just a facade.

Since she had the best relationship with Bianca, Ayame asked, “Bianca, where is GoldMiner?”

GoldMiner was one of her Dislord admins so Ayame was truly worried for his wellbeing.

Hearing her best friend’s question, Bianca answered truthfully, “I had discovered a secret passage in the library. GoldMiner had volunteered to enter the secret passage on my behalf but since then, he hasn’t returned to the library yet.”

“He had told me to return here to inform you all if he still hasn’t left the secret passage.”

When they heard Bianca’s answer, they could more or less guess that something bad had happened to GoldMiner and Bianca’s answer only confirmed their speculations.

They already assumed the worst that could happen. Fortunately, even if GoldMiner had died, he would still be alive in the real world so they weren’t that worried.

“Since all of us are here, let’s head to the library and enter that secret passage to find GoldMiner.”

Hearing Ayame’s suggestion, the rest of the team didn’t disagree.

Leaving their wines or juices at the bar counter, they left the atrium and headed to the library.

After arriving at the library, they all saw the secret passage.

The bookshelf acted like a door as it opened and revealed the stone staircase leading to an underground room.

Ayame and the rest of them didn’t know how huge the size of the luxury cruise ship was, but that was not their problem since Cozy Vacation Life was a horror-mystery game. It was something that shouldn’t be assumed by common sense as almost everything in this game was normal.

The stone staircase looked quite old and it was covered in dust. Even GoldMiner’s footstep marks were slightly visible on the stone staircase due to the dust on it.

Before entering the secret passage, Ayame informed them, “Remember, if we mess this up, we will have to start all over again. So it’s all or nothing.”

Hearing Ayame’s words, Bianca asked, “Why can’t we just split up and let half of us enter the secret passage while the other half stays in the library?”

In response to Bianca’s question, it was Winston who replied, “That’s too inefficient. If half of us entered the secret passage and experienced a game over, the other half would have to either enter the secret passage or leave the library.”

“If they enter the secret passage, they would inevitably repeat the mistake of the previous half. So if the failure to deal with the secret passage’s problem could be solved only if all of us worked together, it’s more efficient if we do that than split our team in half.”

“Just half of us wouldn’t be enough to deal with the horrors of Vacation Paradise Island. So we would rather go all-in now and have a chance to win rather than struggle later.”

Ayame nodded at Winston’s reply and agreed to it. That was indeed her intention.

Even if half of them survived due to not entering the secret passage, they would inevitably struggle and lose in Vacation Paradise Island.

“If we can’t even deal with the horrors under the library, then we wouldn’t be capable enough to defeat the horrors in Vacation Paradise Island. Just treat this as a test of some sort. Even if we lose now, we will keep repeating this all over again until we manage to defeat the monster or evil spirit inside the secret passage.”

Hearing Kayden’s words, they all agreed to it including Bianca.

The secret passage was quite dark but it wasn’t that dark since it was illuminated by dim electric torch lamps.

After making up their minds, Ayame led all of them as they all entered the secret passage!
