Chapter 113: Hex Color Code Clue
Listening to Kayden’s words, Ayame pondered for a while before she nodded, “Okay, let’s discover the correct color shade of Lily’s green balloon instead of relying on your luck.”

Ayame knew that if not for Kayden’s luck manipulation being sealed by the game mechanism, Kayden’s luck wouldn’t be easily interfered with by some unknown force in the dark room.

Kayden’s luck was quite powerful and Ayame didn’t want to go against his luck. She almost suffered due to Kayden’s luck since if not for Kayden’s suicide before, she would have not become the top 1 player in Zombie Survival Online’s fake death game.

Although it was quite a pity that they couldn’t rely on Kayden’s luck, Ayame was still confident that she could find Lily’s balloon.

Ayame explained, “We currently know that Lily’s balloon is green in color. As for what shade it is, the clue for that might be in the black book.”

Bianca interjected, “It might be in the black book, but it not be as well. We still don’t know. However, isn’t Lily’s balloon named by her as ‘Hex’? Does that ring any bell to you?”

When they heard Bianca’s interjection, they contemplated for a while before Winston expressed his opinion.

“If I’m not mistaken, the Hex might be a clue for ‘Hex color code’. A hex color code is three two-digit numbers or six-digit numbers in total which represents the level of red, green, and blue.”

Winston added, “The correct hex code for Lily’s balloon might be the mystery we needed to solve. For example, what is the title of the black book?”

Hearing Winston’s speculation, Ayame and the rest of them felt that it was highly likely that Winston was correct.

Kayden decided to listen to Winston as he asked Lily, “Lily, can we borrow your black book?”

In response, Lily nodded enthusiastically, “Sure thing, big brother!”

After receiving Lily’s permission, Kayden walked towards the wooden table and extended his hand towards the black book.

Kayden and the rest of them already speculated that without Lily’s permission, touching the black book might inflict them with the balloon curse.

Because of that, Kayden asked for Lily’s permission for the sake of his safety.

When he picked up the black book, Kayden noticed that nothing happened to him which made him heave a sigh of relief.

‘GoldMiner suffered from the balloon curse since he probably didn’t obtain Lily’s permission to touch her book. Or, it was inevitable for the first person who touched the black book to be inflicted with the balloon curse regardless of obtaining Lily’s permission.’

‘Either way, I’m not inflicted with the balloon curse and that’s what all that mattered.’

Having those thoughts in his mind, Kayden looked at the black book and saw the title on the black cover.

“Winston, the title of the black book is ‘The Little Girl With A Balloon’. Do you think this has any clue regarding the hex code for Lily’s balloon color?”

In response to Kayden’s question, Winston replied, “How many words there are in the cover title?”

Kayden answered, “There are six words in the cover title.”

When he answered that to Winston, Kayden immediately realized, “Oh!”

Winston nodded, “Now you understand what I meant. Since there cover title exactly has six words in it, then we can convert those words into numbers instead according to the number of letters.”

“For example, the cover title has six words. So if we convert it to a hex code using its letters, it will be like this:

So we will have #364417 as our hex color code.”

“Since we have the hex color code, our only problem left is to determine which color shade that hex color code looked like if it was converted into color.”

Hearing Winston’s explanation and discovery, Ayame asked, “Winston, can your eye of insight find the correct color shade if you have a reference?”

Winston nodded his head, “Yes, I can. My Eye of Insight is accurate enough to determine the very small difference in color shade between the same color. If I activate my Eye of Insight, I can see colors that couldn’t be seen by the naked eye.”

“However, seeing those colors puts a strain on my eye and makes my eye ache. That’s why I rarely do this since it’s not that important to see those impossible colors.”

Hearing Winston’s explanation, Kuroneko commented, “No wonder Aspro had to nerf your Eye of Insight. If you can use it to also see through the information in-game, it would be too broken.”

“Nonetheless, it’s quite reassuring to have you as our teammate.”

Winston nodded at Kuroneko’s praise and he wasn’t embarrassed by it. “So that only leaves us with finding a reference for me so that I can locate the balloon with the #364417 hex color code.”

Bianca suggested, “If I am not mistaken, there should be a book in the library that lists all hex color codes with the colored picture reference for it.”

“As long as we find those books from the library, the reference will no longer be a problem.”

Hearing Bianca’s suggestion, Winston pondered before nodding, “That will indeed work, but it will be a hassle to go from here to the library, and then return here. We also don’t know if there is a time limit.”

Kayden asked Lily after hearing Winston’s words, “Lily, is there a time limit for finding your balloon?”

In response, Lily nodded then shook her head, “There isn’t a time limit for you who haven’t failed. But for those who have failed, if a day has passed, then their heads will merge with the balloons and they will be as good as dead.”

The ambiance in the room became grim and solemn after they all heard Lily’s words.

Although they would be fine regardless of the time they spent on finding Lily’s balloon, the same wasn’t the case for GoldMiner, Kenshi, Shirohige, and JordanPlayz.

The three Dislord admins might be expendables, but the same couldn’t be said for Kenshi whose value was quite high since he was a powerful combatant.

“We have no choice. So let Bianca and Winston find the books regarding hex color codes in the library.”
