Chapter 120: Unknown Meat In Those Suspcious Food
Although Ayame and the others had already eaten before, the warm hospitality of Windesburg Hotel made it awkward for them if they weren’t going to at least taste the food.
After all, Windesburg Hotel had prepared a lot of food for them and it would be a waste if they didn’t eat any of it.
They were stuck between a rock and a hard place. One side was the butler’s advice and the luxury cruise ship staff seemed to be doing their job to help the passengers.
On the other side was the staff of Windesburg Hotel whose hotel they would stay for a considerable amount of time. If they get on the bad side of them, it would be problematic for their stay here.
Because of that, Winston immediately activated his Eye of Insight and asked the guide and the staff, “Is there anything wrong with the food or not? Is it clean and what meat did you use to cook it?”
Although Winston couldn’t use his Eye of Insight to check the game information of NPCs and players like he used to, he could still use it as a lie detector as well as see through the intentions of others.
Hearing Winston’s question, the staff of the Windesburg Hotel replied, “The food is completely fine and clean. It is cooked from high-quality meat such as pork, beef, and chicken. The seafood is freshly fished from the beach.”
When Winston received that reply, he double-checked and saw that the staff weren’t lying to him.
However, his instincts told him that something wasn’t right. He had lived in a zombie-apocalyptic world before and the memories of his other selves were transferred to him after he traveled to the real world.
His instincts had rarely failed him and it had proved to be a useful asset on many occasions.
After checking the staff using his Eye of Insight, Winston could only nod his head and then shook his head towards Ayame and Kayden, signaling them that they didn’t lie, but he wasn’t certain whether it was right or not.
In response to this, Ayame only replied and lied to the staff of Windesburg Hotel, “I have eaten the Eternal Beef of Satiation so I don’t have to eat.”
Hearing Ayame’s response, they nodded in acknowledgment since they were also aware of the Eternal Beef of Satiation.
Since Ayame didn’t need to eat anything, the staff of Windesburg Hotel looked at Kayden and the rest.
In response, Kayden answered and pointed to Winston, Bianca, and Kenshi, “That guy, that girl, that guy, and I have eaten a lot on the luxury cruise ship so we are full.”
As if to back up Kayden’s claims, the Dislord admins immediately decided, “We haven’t eaten much so we would love to taste your Windesburg Hotel’s fine cooking!”
The Dislord admins didn’t know what horrors lurked in the food of Windesburg Hotel. But one thing was for sure, they were fucked!
They knew that not all of them could reject eating the food of Windesburg Hotel or else the staff would be hostile to them. Because of that, the Dislord admins could only sacrifice themselves.
Seeing that the Dislord admins “willingly” ate the food they cooked, the staff of Windesburg Hotel were in a good mood and didn’t care whether Ayame and the rest of them ate it or not.
But deep down inside, the Dislord admins were already crying for their inevitable demise. Even if they had to admit that the food of Windesburg Hotel tasted great, they knew that they would still suffer since this was a horror-mystery game and not a vacation simulator game.
…
After the Dislord admins ate their food, Ayame and her team were guided by the staff to their hotel room.
It wasn’t nighttime yet so the guide had told them beforehand that he would wait for them at the lobby if they were ever interested in having a tour around Vacation Paradise Island.
After all, the identities of Ayame and her team in this game were upper-class tourists. That explained the luxurious cruise ship as well as an island vacation. Only those with great wealth could afford to pay for such extravagance.
After Ayame and her team got to know their hotel room number as well as surveyed their room and found nothing amiss in it, they all headed to Kayden’s room to hold a meeting.
After gathering in Kayden’s room, Ayame asked Winston, “You signaled to us that the staff isn’t lying but your instincts said otherwise. So what do you think about it?”
In response, Winston replied, “Although my Eye of Insight could see through the lies and truths of others, I don’t fully rely on it and only use it as a reference. After all, it also has its flaws.”
“And that flaw is none other than when someone truly believes that their lie is the truth. An example of that is when you ask a color-blind person to look at the red color and they will say it’s green. In that case, they aren’t lying since from what they believe, it’s green.”
“The same went for those hotel staff. If someone made them believe that the meat they used was beef, pork, and chicken and not some other meat, then I wouldn’t be able to see through their lies.”
Receiving Winston’s reply, Kayden asked, “What do you think the meat those staff had used?”

Hearing Kayden’s question, the Dislord admins were attentively listening since this concerned them a lot. After all, they were the sacrificial lambs in this scenario.
Winston answered, “From all the meat, I think the only edible ones are the seafood dishes. Since those fishes come from the sea we can assume that Windesburg Hotel staff had used them when making those seafood dishes.”
“However, any other meat other than fish can be easily disguised by them. When we arrive here, we have yet to see any livestock farms or even a slaughterhouse.”
“So, I think that the meat they used must be…”
“Human meat!”
