Chapter 126: The Room Behind The Staff-Only Door In The Kitchen
Kayden and the rest of Group 2 had already decided to go guns blazing in Windesburg Hotel. The best course of action they decided was to obtain as much information in this game session then try again in the next game session.
A horror-mystery game like Cozy Vacation Life has a lot of pitfalls and traps set by the game developer. It was difficult to clear it in the first attempt so that wasn’t their intention.
The chef guarding the kitchen was very fat and big so his layers of fat had made it difficult for them to stab his vital organs. Even when Kuroneko had stabbed the chef behind his back, the chef was only bleeding but he wasn’t severely injured.
Only Winston’s attack which punctured the eyes of the chef was the only effective attack. After all, the chef’s brain was almost stabbed by Winston’s throwable kitchen knife since Winston performed a lobotomy on the chef.
“Subdue him, quick!”
Hearing Kayden’s reminder, GoldMiner immediately kicked the chef’s hand which held the butcher knife.
While GoldMiner distracted the chef, Kuroneko pulled out the kitchen knife he stabbed into the chef’s back. After pulling the kitchen knife out, Kuroneko stabbed it again on the chef’s back and he kept doing that continuously in quick succession.
“Graaahhh! Damn you!”
The chef screamed in agony as his body was bleeding profusely.
As if that wasn’t enough, Winston took several sharp kitchen knives and threw them towards the chef.
One of those kitchen knives accurately landed and punctured the other eye of the chef, resulting in his blindness. The other knives penetrated the chef’s abdomen and chest as well as limbs.
The chef looked like a human pin cushion as countless kitchen knives were embedded and punctured into his body.
“Sigh, if Kenshi was here, we wouldn’t be fighting a protracted battle and it would have ended easily with a decapitation.”
Kayden sighed after finally witnessing the death of the chef.
Even when they killed the chef, Kayden, and the boys weren’t affected by killing others. They didn’t vomit or act like a wimp.
After all, this was just a game. But even if it wasn’t, they still believed that what they did was right since that chef was hindering them from achieving their goals.
Ayame and Bianca could even kill without batting an eyelid, much less them who were manly boys.
After the chef had died, Kuroneko and Winston looted the corpse of the chef.
“Aside from our kitchen knives, there doesn’t seem to be anything on the chef.”
Winston commented as he took the apron of the chef and used it to store the kitchen knives.
Just in case they needed to battle those Windesburg Hotel staff again, Winston and Kuroneko secured some kitchen knives for future usage.
On the other hand, both Kayden and GoldMiner took a frying pan since they planned to use it as a shield to protect themselves. For example, it would be useful in parrying sharp weapon attacks unless their opponent’s weapon was sharp enough to cut through steel.
After arming themselves with weapons, Winston looked at Kayden and when their eyes met, they nodded at each other.
Kayden looked at GoldMiner and Kuroneko and just looking at each other’s eyes, they already conveyed their messages.
GoldMiner didn’t hesitate as he walked towards the door that had a sign of “Staff-only”.
Placing his hand on the doorknob, GoldMiner twisted it and pushed the door slightly, causing the door to open and a gap to be seen.
When GoldMiner opened the door, he smelled the scent of blood and flesh wafting out of the opened door’s gap.
Currently, they were inside the kitchen room. The door that GoldMiner had opened led to the slaughterhouse where recently slaughtered animals would be butchered into different meat slices.
Opening the door widely, what GoldMiner saw shocked him!
“Fuck! Guys, check this out!”

GoldMiner immediately told the others to come forward and look at the room behind the staff-only door.
Hearing GoldMiner’s reaction, Kuroneko didn’t let Kayden and Winston check it yet since he wanted to test whether it was safe or not.
But when Kuroneko saw what was inside the room, he asked Kayden and Winston to look at the room with him.
Kayden asked Winston after noticing GoldMiner and Kuroneko’s reactions, “What do you think, Winston?”
Winston looked at them thoroughly with his Eye of Insight before answering, “I don’t think there is anything wrong with them. They don’t seem to be under the influence of mind control or any mental pollution.”
Receiving Winston’s answer, Kayden no longer hesitated and went to check on it, “I’ll check it first. I’ll inform you if there is anything amiss.”
Winston nodded at Kayden and agreed with him.
Kayden walked towards GoldMiner and Kuroneko and checked what was inside that made them react that badly.
When Kayden arrived there and peeked at the interior of the room. When he saw what was inside the room, he was surprised but didn’t react as dramatically as GoldMiner and Kuroneko.
Kayden informed, “Winston, inside the room are slaughtered humans. And from the looks of it, the meat used in the dishes of Windesburg Hotel is human meat except for the seafood dishes.”
GoldMiner reacted after hearing Kayden’s words, “We Dislord admins literally ate this for breakfast! Now you know why Kuroneko and I are reacting this dramatically? We literally ate human fucking flesh!”
Kuroneko patted GoldMiner’s shoulder and sighed, “Well, that’s the price to pay for being sacrificial lambs. We are fortunate that this is only a game and not the real world so our real bodies haven’t eaten the human flesh. We aren’t truly cannibals, yet.”
“Although, I have to admit that the skills of the chefs of Windesburg Hotel are quite good. They can make human flesh taste like pork, beef, and chicken.”
When Kuroneko said that, they saw Kuroneko’s dull eyes that seemed to have given up on giving a shit about what happened in the game.
Kayden consoled them, “Don’t worry, this secret will be between us ten-player team only.”
“Now that’s over, let’s explore the slaughterhouse.”
