Chapter 147: Hostile Higher Existences’ Interference
After leaving that advice to the Phoenix Emperor and the royal families, Weiss left the royal palace with Alice and no one stopped him.

At least, the Phoenix Emperor knew that he couldn’t stop Weiss since Weiss must have other things to do. If Weiss had accepted the engagement with Ivy, it would have been a lot easier for the Phoenix Emperor to bind Weiss to the Phoenix Empire.

However, the Phoenix Emperor knew that he couldn’t bite off more than he could chew. For him, it was already a good outcome that Weiss wasn’t hostile to the Phoenix Empire and at least was one of the Dukes of the Phoenix Empire.

So even if Weiss traveled to other nations, Weiss would still represent the Phoenix Empire since the rank of a Duke might not have political power, but they were protected by the Phoenix Empire.

In the Phoenix Empire’s history, Weiss was one of the few who had become a Duke despite not having any royal phoenix bloodline. But even then, the few others who became a Duke had at least married a phoenix royalty yet Weiss didn’t.

After leaving the royal palace, Weiss was about to walk to his home but he was stopped by Alice.

Knowing that Alice might have wanted to talk to him, Weiss used his reality manipulation to remove his presence as he asked, “Alice, is there anything wrong?”

In response, Alice nodded, “Yes, there is. I have a bad news and a bad news. The first one is just bad news, while the second one is much worse. Which one do you want to hear first?”

Knowing that he would have to hear both anyway, Weiss sighed and answered, “Just choose the lesser bad news followed by the worst one. I don’t care much since I should have enough power to deal with them.”

Receiving Weiss’ choice, Alice replied, “The first bad news is that the higher existences wanted to hasten the end of the worlds and Blue Star is included in that list. Those hostile higher existences managed to bribe the other higher existences and because of that, the majority of the votes were in their favor.”

“The silver lining is that it wasn’t just your world that was targeted by those higher existences but the other worlds of those transmigrators as well. Those who were tasked with preventing the end of the world including you were targeted by those hostile higher existences.”

“The good news is that aside from hastening the end of the worlds, the hostile higher existences can’t make a move against you, those transmigrators, as well as the world itself.”

“Furthermore, the end of the world isn’t truly a bad thing. It’s also considered as the Great Filter as in the process of overcoming the Great Filter, the world will soon usher into a new era and a higher level of existence.”

“Those that can survive the Great Filter or the end of the world will become a first-rate world and will give birth to gods and immortals.”

After pausing for a while, Alice continued, “From what you noticed, Blue Star is like our past life Earth but slightly more advanced. Aside from that, Blue Star doesn’t have any superpowers.”

“However, due to the Great Filter, Blue Star will have access to mana and other otherworldly energy. Even without your interference, Blue Star itself and its inhabitants will usher into a higher existence.”

“But without your interference, it’s already a certainty that Blue Star couldn’t overcome the Great Filter. As for why that’s the case, I’ll explain in the next bad news I have.”

Before Alice could further explain, Weiss interjected and asked, “Where did you know all of this? Did the creator of the system or the system itself inform you about it?”

Weiss had already known that despite being a system spirit, Alice wasn’t considered the same entity as the God-Level Game Developer System.

The God-Level Game Developer System wasn’t truly sentient since even the questions asked by Weiss had been replied to by the Game Developer System via pre-programmed answers to those questions.

Because of that, Alice wasn’t the system itself even if she acted as the system spirit of the God-Level Game Developer System. She only lived inside the system but the system wasn’t her body.

In other words, Alice lived in the system while the system lived in Weiss’ soul.

After she heard Weiss’ question, Alice answered, “The creator of the system, the Limitless Ruler, had conveyed that news to me via the system. So after the system received it, the system informed me about it.”

“As for when the system informed me about that, it was during the time you were having an audience with the Phoenix Emperor. That’s also the reason why I didn’t do any face-slapping scenes against that Ivy girl since I was busy receiving that information from the system.”

After answering Weiss’ doubts, Alice continued by informing him about the second bad news, “The other bad news is that the hostile higher existences have hastened the end of the world, especially your world. According to the message relayed by the system, the hostile higher existences have set their eyes on Blue Star since due to your golden finger, the progress of Blue Star is a lot higher than other worlds.”

“At this rate, if they gave you two more months, Blue Star would already have a god-level existence. Because of that, the hostile higher existences did all they could do to shorten the time when dimensional gates would descend in Blue Star.”

Hearing Alice’s information, Weiss’ expression became solemn. He knew that if those hostile higher existences were to shorten the two months of time he had, Blue Star might not be able to deal with it since Blue Star wasn’t ready yet.

At least, when those dimensional gates descended, there would be a lot of casualties.

Weiss asked solemnly, “When will the dimensional gates descend?”
