Chapter 172: Undead Shark Tsunami And Sharknado!
JordanPlayz used the ocean waves to drive the wooden ship away from Vacation Paradise Island.

But when they were just a few nautical miles away from Vacation Paradise Island, JordanPlayz and the perceptive ones among their team noticed the incoming sharks.

“Enemy attack!”

JordanPlayz alerted them as he controlled the wooden ship to go even faster.

When Kayden saw the sharks, he commented, “Those should be the undead sharks from the Undead Shark Reefs. They were mentioned by the guide when he was introducing the scenic spots of Vacation Paradise Island.”

Bianca asked, “Aren’t those undead sharks said to be immortal? Even then, why are they here? They should be staying in the Undead Shark Reefs near the Metal Shrieking Forest.”

In response to that, Weiss answered, “Those who attempt to leave Vacation Paradise Island without clearing the third main objective will be attacked by the sea creatures around the island.”

“Those sea creatures won’t attack if you enter and visit Vacation Paradise Island. They will only attack if you leave Vacation Paradise Island. That’s why the luxury cruise ship wasn’t attacked by them.”

Ayame sighed, “From brother’s words, it seems we are taking the shortcut by completing the first main objective this early. Most players can’t defeat those sharks without having authorities.”

Weiss nodded, “Yes. It’s also difficult to find the Special West Compass since you either need luck to find it in Vacation Paradise Island, or you completed the second main objective first which will give a clue to the whereabouts of the Special West Compass.”

“So if it’s the normal way, you can only leave Vacation Paradise Island in the midgame rather than the early game. At that time, most players will have a decent amount of game items and authorities so they won’t be passively beaten by the undead sharks.”

While Weiss was explaining that to Ayame and her team, they soon noticed that the undead sharks had increased in numbers.

At first, the number of undead sharks pursuing them wasn’t that much. But now, their numbers alone were overwhelming!

The undead sharks soon stacked up on top of each other as they formed a shark wave. The tsunami of undead sharks kept on becoming bigger as it attempted to engulf the wooden ship!

Observing the undead shark tsunami, Kenshi sighed, “There are too many of them. I can’t cut all of them with my sword.”

This time, Winston stepped forward, “I’ll deal with them. I’ll use my Balloon Authority against one of them. Afterward, I can use the no-attack rule of the Balloon Authority to fend off against the rest of the undead sharks. If they ever attempt to harm me, they’ll lose their head so it’s more convenient that way.”

Regarding Winston’s suggestion, none of them disagreed with it since his Balloon Authority was indeed more convenient when it came to dealing with hordes of mindless creatures.

“Weiss, assist me on this. I need your barrier platform. Control it so that whenever the undead sharks attempt to attack the wooden ship, they’ll be forced to attack me instead.”

Weiss nodded and agreed with Winston, “Certainly.”

Using his Barrier Authority, Weiss created a barrier platform. Winston stepped on the barrier platform as he soared into the undead shark tsunami via the barrier platform.

When Winston was near the undead shark tsunami, Winston immediately activated the balloon curse on one of the undead sharks.

The unfortunate shark who was cursed with the balloon curse had soon lost its head. Its headless body lost motion as it fell out of the undead shark tsunami formation.

Those undead sharks paid no heed to the headless undead shark. Several of them jumped out of the undead shark tsunami, heading towards the wooden ship.

However, before they could reach the wooden ship, Weiss controlled the barrier platform and moved Winston to the undead sharks’ line of attack.

Because of that, it triggered Winston’s Balloon Authority, causing those undead sharks to lose their head.

But since Winston activated his Balloon Authority, countless balloons of red and green color soon appeared. Not only that, but the black book containing the clue to Hex’s color code also appeared.

The undead sharks paid no heed to the black book. However, the balloons that appeared caught their attention and they soon started popping those balloons.

Whenever an undead shark popped the wrong balloon, they would lose their head. That didn’t reassure Winston but made him worry instead.

Winston cursed, “Damn! At this rate, the sheer number of undead sharks might be able to find Hex. If they find Hex, all the headless sharks will have their heads returned to them.”

JordanPlayz sighed, “I can’t do anything against them since my control over my Water Authority isn’t that great yet. If I were to expend some of my concentration and effort into attacking the undead sharks, the speed of the wooden ship would decrease.”

When the two of them were helpless about the current situation, Ayame and the rest of the team looked at Weiss in expectation.

Weiss looked at them before nodding, “Fine, I’ll intervene. Those undead sharks have included me as their enemy so retaliating is considered as self-defense.”

After deciding to interfere, Weiss allowed Winston to return to the wooden ship and he no longer used Winston as a meat shield against those undead sharks.

But before Weiss could attack those undead sharks, one of the undead sharks popped a red-colored balloon which was none other than the Hex Balloon. That caused the headless sharks to recover their heads which allowed them to regroup and become an even bigger threat.

“JordanPlayz, focus on driving the ship. I’ll deal with the undead sharks and prevent them from damaging the ship.”

Hearing Weiss’ command, JordanPlayz nodded solemnly as he focused all of his attention on controlling the ocean waves to increase the speed of the wooden ship.

Just after Weiss commanded JordanPlayz, the undead shark tsunami seemed to disperse.

After the undead shark tsunami dispersed, the undead sharks didn’t stop pursuing them but instead, they changed their methods.

The undead sharks formed groups and when they did, they would spin rapidly in the water, causing a whirlpool. However, the whirlpool didn’t affect the balance and movements of the wooden ship due to JordanPlayz’s Water Authority.

The undead sharks didn’t stop spinning and soon enough, the whirlpool turned into a water tornado as it rose above the sea. The undead sharks had minor manipulation over water which allowed them to achieve feats like that.

When the water tornado was formed, the undead sharks swam along with it.

Afterward, the undead sharks propelled themselves out of the water tornado and into the wooden ship!

In response, Weiss created an invisible box that trapped those undead sharks that flew out of the water tornado. After trapping them inside invisible boxes, Weiss threw the invisible box toward Vacation Paradise Island.

Witnessing the undead sharks’ water tornado, Kayden cursed, “Fuck! Is that a sharknado? What was the game developer smoking when he created this game?!”

The undead sharks were using the water tornado to give themselves momentum as they shot toward the wooden ship like shark-shaped bullets.

A water tornado that shoots undead sharks was undoubtedly a sharknado.

As for why Weiss didn’t kill them with his Barrier Authority, that was due to the immortality of those undead sharks.

Since he was the one who developed this game, he knew everything about it. Unlike some of the team members who believed that the undead shark’s immortality was just a rumor, Weiss knew that their immortality was true.

The undead sharks’ immortality mostly worked on high-speed regeneration. As long as they were incinerated into ashes, they can’t resurrect themselves. But if even a drop of their blood remained, they could resurrect themselves.

The only way to bypass the immortality of those undead sharks was either using a few specific game items that kill those undead sharks or using an authority that could also bypass their immortality.

Illya’s Gluttony Authority could be used against them since she can digest those undead sharks until they no longer have even a drop of their blood left.

However, none of them wanted to bother Illya since she had already contributed to building the wooden ship. Because of that, they could only bother Weiss who had nothing to do.

After all, Illya was assigned to build the ship while Weiss and JordanPlayz were assigned to switch shifts in driving the wooden ship.

“Perfect Cube!”

Weiss used his Barrier Authority to create a cube-like barrier around the wooden ship, protecting it from the undead sharks.

Although the undead sharks couldn’t slip by his invisible boxes, Weiss just added a barrier to the wooden ship just in case it did happen.

While Weiss was fending off the undead sharks that propelled themselves toward the wooden ship, the ocean’s water started shaking as if something enormous was about to resurface out of the ocean.

Several seconds after that, a huge octopus-like monster with enormous tentacles popped out of the ocean waters.

Kayden yelled in surprise, “Fuck! Is that a kraken?!”
