Chapter 244: Kenshi Vs Kraken And Sea Monsters
They began their journey through the Mirror Maze, with Kayden flipping his shoe at every intersection to guide their path.
The first few turns were relatively straightforward, but soon they encountered their first challenge.
As they turned a corner, they found themselves face-to-face with their own reflections.
But something was off.
The reflections had a sinister look, their eyes glowing red and twisted smiles on their faces.
“These aren’t just reflections,” Kenshi warned, his sword at the ready. “Be prepared.”
The twisted reflections stepped out of the mirrors, becoming solid entities that mirrored their movements.
Kenshi engaged his doppelganger, their swords clashing with a metallic ring. The battle was intense, each move perfectly matched by the other.
Kayden and Winston faced similar challenges. Kayden’s reflection flipped its own shoe, guiding it toward him with deadly accuracy. He had to rely on his luck and quick reflexes to dodge the attacks.
Winston, on the other hand, used his Eye of Insight to find weaknesses in his reflection’s movements, exploiting them to gain the upper hand.
Kenshi, realizing that a direct fight would lead to a stalemate, decided to outsmart his doppelganger.
He feigned a strike, and when the reflection mirrored his move, he quickly changed direction, striking the mirror from which the doppelganger had emerged.
The reflection shattered, disappearing in a burst of light.
“Break the mirrors!” Kenshi shouted. “That’s their source!”
Kayden and Winston followed suit, shattering the mirrors around them. The twisted reflections vanished, leaving the group panting but victorious.
With the twisted reflections defeated, they continued through the maze.
The mirrors seemed to close in on them, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere.
At several points, they encountered what appeared to be dead ends.
Winston activated his Eye of Insight, scanning the walls and floors. “These aren’t real dead ends,” he said. “They’re illusions. We need to find the right mirror to pass through.”
Kayden flipped his shoe, and it pointed to a mirror on their left. He approached it cautiously, reaching out to touch its surface.
His hand passed through it, confirming that it was indeed a portal.
“Good call, Kayden,” Winston said. “Let’s go.”
They stepped through the portal, emerging into another section of the maze.
The process repeated several times, with Winston identifying the illusions and Kayden’s shoe guiding them to the correct paths.
Each time they passed through a mirror, the disorienting effects seemed to intensify, but they persevered since they needed to obtain the Mirror Authority.
As they ventured deeper into the maze, the mirrors began to show not just twisted reflections but entirely different dimensions.
Some mirrors depicted fiery landscapes, while others showed icy wastelands or dark, foreboding forests.
“This is getting more complex,” Kenshi muttered, his eyes scanning the shifting images. “Which way now, Kayden?”
Kayden flipped his shoe again. It pointed to a mirror showing a serene, moonlit beach.
“Looks like we’re going to the beach,” he said with a wry smile.

They stepped through the mirror, finding themselves on the sandy shores of the beach.
The air was cool and calm, a stark contrast to the chaos they had just left behind.
“Stay alert,” Winston warned. “This might be another trick.”
They moved cautiously along the beach, the sound of waves crashing against the shore providing a false sense of tranquility.
Suddenly, the water began to churn, and from the depths emerged monstrous sea creatures, their eyes glowing with malicious intent.
The largest of them was a massive kraken, its tentacles thrashing violently as it summoned an army of octopuses and other sea creatures to attack Kenshi.
Kenshi sprang into action, his sword slicing through the air with deadly precision.
“Get back!” he shouted, his voice echoing across the serene beach.
His Sword Authority flared to life, and he summoned a wind sword, the blade shimmering with a vibrant green hue. It replaced his previously summoned holy sword.
The kraken roared, its voice a deafening cacophony, and sent its tentacles crashing down towards Kenshi.
With his Wind-Style Swordsmanship, Kenshi dodged the attack, moving with the grace and speed of the wind itself.
He countered with a powerful upward slash, slicing through one of the tentacles with ease. The severed limb fell to the ground, writhing before disintegrating into a fine mist.
As the kraken’s army of sea creatures swarmed towards him, Kenshi remained indifferent.
He leaped into the air, spinning his wind sword in a graceful arc.
“Gale Strike!” he shouted, unleashing a powerful gust of wind that swept through the approaching creatures.
The force of the wind tore through their ranks, cutting them down like blades of grass.
The kraken, enraged by the loss of its minions, lashed out like a manchild throwing a tantrum.
It sent multiple tentacles towards Kenshi, attempting to overwhelm him with sheer force.
Kenshi stood his ground, his eyes focused and determined.
With a swift motion, he summoned another sword with his authority, this time a blade infused with the power of lightning.
“Tempest Blade!” Kenshi called out, the lightning sword crackling with energy.
He dashed forward, his movements a blur, and struck the kraken with a series of rapid, precise slashes. Each strike was accompanied by a flash of lightning, illuminating the battlefield in a brilliant display of power.
The kraken roared in agony, its tentacles flailing wildly as it tried to fend off Kenshi’s relentless assault. But Kenshi was relentless, his swordsmanship a perfect blend of elegance and lethality.
He danced around the kraken’s attacks, his wind sword and lightning sword working in perfect harmony.
With a final, powerful leap, Kenshi soared high above the kraken. He raised both swords above his head, the wind and lightning swirling around him in a maelstrom of energy.
“Cyclone Slash!” he shouted, bringing the blades down in a devastating cross-shaped strike.
The impact was catastrophic.
The kraken let out a final, anguished roar as the energy from Kenshi’s attack tore through its body, splitting it into pieces. The severed tentacles and chunks of its massive form fell to the ground, disintegrating into mist.
The remaining sea creatures, seeing their master defeated, fled back into the depths, leaving Kenshi standing victorious on the beach.
He sheathed his swords, the wind and lightning dissipating as he turned to face Kayden and Winston.
Afterward, he unsummoned them, summoning the holy sword again since he felt it was better to have the holy sword on standby due to Windesburg Hotel having a lot of evil spirits.
“It’s done,” Kenshi said, his voice calm and indifferent as if he was only cutting meat to prepare for a meal. “The path is clear.”
