However, when Weiss was about to close the hotel room door, he remembered something, “Wait, didn’t we turn the guide into a mindless puppet? I’d rather stay in my hotel room alone so Winston can stay with one of the Dislord admins.”

Hearing Weiss’ words, Ayame and the rest of the team who hadn’t fully entered their hotel rooms yet had paused what they were doing.

After a while, they seemed to have also remembered the guide who Kuroneko had turned into a mindless puppet using his dark magic.

The guide had stayed in the reception room of Windesburg Hotel after they realized how much of a baggage he was. It was inconvenient to bring the guide with them especially when they were visiting the forbidden areas of Windesburg Hotel which would have a high chance of causing the death of the guide.

Although they didn’t care about the guide, Weiss had suggested to them to at least keep the life of the guide since sacrificing the guide’s life later to summon the Wall of Fleece would give them some advantage.

Because of that, they left the guide at the reception area and since the guide was turned into their mindless puppet, the guide didn’t refuse their command and stayed in the reception area without any complaints.

Winston wasn’t offended when he heard Weiss’ words since Weiss was someone of great status who was only below his creator since Weiss was a beta tester. It was natural for someone of high status to not want to share a room when they could have it all to themselves.

Listening to Weiss’ words, Ayame pondered, “Brother, do you have any means to stay in your hotel room without being affected by the anomalous phenomenon?”

In response to Ayame’s question, Weiss nodded, “Yes. My proficiency of my Barrier Authority is high enough to block the anomalous phenomenon ‘ Odds And Evens Death’ that permeates the hotel rooms.”

“Since I can use my Barrier Authority even in my sleep, the Odds And Evens Death phenomenon won’t affect me so I can sleep in my hotel room by myself.”

Hearing Weiss’ words, Ayame didn’t insist as she nodded in understanding, “Okay, Winston will stay with Shirohige while Kuroneko will partner with the guide.”

Listening to Ayame’s arrangements, Kuroneko expressed his complaints, “Wait, why me? I don’t want to stay in a room with that guide.”

Confronted with Kuroneko’s complaints, Ayame stated in a matter-of-fact tone, “You were the one who turned the guide into a mindless puppet. So if the guide ever breaks free from it and attacks you at night, you can only blame your lack of expertise in dark magic.”

Hearing Ayame’s words, the rest of the Dislord admins chuckled in amusement while Kuroneko sighed in defeat.

Kuroneko knew that if any of them other than him stayed with the guide, then his teammates would be at risk of the guide attacking them at night if ever his dark magic lost its effects which was almost impossible to happen.

Nevertheless, there was still the possibility of it losing its effects so it was a lot safer if the guide stayed with him. Even if the dark magic lost its effects and the guide attacked Kuroneko in his sleep, Shironeko could take over his body and protect him while he was asleep.

Since Shironeko could use his Duality of Black And White grimoire while he was asleep, then Shironeko could just reapply the dark magic towards the guide and turn him into a mindless puppet again.

Kuroneko nodded, “Fine, I’ll partner up with the guide.”

Afterward, Winston left Weiss’ hotel room and went to Shirohige’s room while Kuroneko left Shirohige’s room and headed to the reception room to fetch the guide.

Several minutes later, Kuroneko returned safely with the guide following behind him. The guide had listless eyes and was unresponsive except for Kuroneko’s commands.

After Kuroneko returned with the guide, Ayame and the rest of the team headed back to their hotel rooms and Weiss returned to his hotel room with no one accompanying him.

Anyway, Weiss wasn’t lying about being able to use his Barrier Authority to block the Odds And Evens Death phenomenon. However, he didn’t have to do that since he was staying in his hotel room with Alice.

He wasn’t against staying with Winston if not for the fact that Winston acted like a lightbulb in his alone time with Alice.

Weiss preferred sleeping with Alice on his bed rather than sleeping with a twelve-year-old boy since he wasn’t gay nor a pedophile.

After they all returned to their respective hotel rooms, Kuroneko was left alone with the guide as he sighed and headed to his hotel room as well.

‘Well, I have no choice so I can only shut up and deal with this shit.’

‘Anyway, I have utmost confidence in my dark magic so it’s impossible for the guide to break free from my dark magic.’

With that thought in mind, Kuroneko entered his hotel room with the guide.

It was currently nighttime and all of them were asleep.

Well, all of them except for Weiss as he was lying on his bed with Alice beside him.

“It’s currently 11:59 in the night so after it strikes at midnight, the eater of dreams will start invading the hotel rooms.”

Knowing that, Weiss activated his Barrier Authority as several invisible barriers encased his entire hotel room, preventing anyone from ever entering his hotel room unless they broke through his barriers.

Hearing Weiss’ words, Alice asked, “You didn’t tell your sister and her team about the eater of dreams? Just like how you can tell Kenshi about the Sword Authority, informing them about the eater of dreams wouldn’t cause the system to punish you for giving spoilers since it’s not something major.”

“And besides, the system will turn a blind eye to most rules we break since the higher existences are already breaking rules so the creator of the system already gave us a leeway when it came to the system’s rules.”
