Chapter 251: Eater Of Dreams [1]
In response to Alice’s question, Weiss just smiled, “It wouldn’t be fun if I spoiled it that much, right?”
Alice chuckled, “Whatever makes you happy, Weiss.”
While the two of them were snuggling with each other on the bed, Weiss and Alice soon sensed the existence of monsters heading toward their hotel room.
The Eater of Dreams, invisible and silent, moved swiftly down the hallway, drawn to the fears and nightmares within
It collided with Weiss’ invisible barriers, which shimmered slightly upon impact.
The barriers held strong, repelling the monstrous entity and preventing it from entering their room. The Eater of Dreams didn’t even manage to put a dent in Weiss’ barrier as if Weiss’ barrier was an immovable fortress.
The collision with Weiss’ barriers caused the Eater of Dreams to reveal its true form.
No longer invisible, the creatures were grotesque, worm-like eldritch horrors. Their bodies were a mass of writhing, segmented flesh, covered in a sickly, glistening mucus.
Multiple eyes, glowing with an unnatural light, were scattered across their elongated forms, each one blinking independently. Their mouths were filled with rows of jagged, needle-like teeth, and they emitted a low, guttural growl as they recoiled from the barriers.
The sight of these nightmarish creatures was enough to unsettle even the bravest of souls, their very presence radiating a sense of dread and terror.
If the ugly sculpture’s ugly appearance would cause mental pollution to those who saw it, then the appearance of the Eater of Dreams was enough to make someone faint in fear and have nightmares.
Weiss sneered as he observed the Eater of Dreams struggling against his barriers.
“Pathetic,” he mocked, his voice dripping with disdain. “You really thought you could get through my defenses? How laughable.”
The Eater of Dreams screeched in response, a high-pitched, ear-splitting sound that echoed through the hallway.
Despite their anger, the creatures knew they couldn’t breach Weiss’ barriers. They quickly turned away, slithering down the corridor towards the other hotel rooms, intent on finding easier prey.
Weiss watched them go, a satisfied smirk on his face, confident in the safety of his own room.
“From the looks of it, those Eater of Dreams would go after the brains of Ayame and the rest of the team.”
Hearing Weiss’ words, Alice already knew that Weiss wouldn’t intervene so she just hugged him.
However, the two of them didn’t sleep yet. After all, Weiss knew that if Ayame and her team ever failed, he had to be awake to activate the Game Over Retry Authority.
As powerful existences, Weiss and Alice didn’t need to sleep to recover their mental energy. So for them, sleeping was just to pass the time as well as a luxury.
Like how they didn’t need to eat or didn’t need to bathe since they could use their powers to clean themselves in an instant or use their energy as an alternative for food, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t want to eat or bathe.
The same went for sleeping since they could spend time with each other.
Like how Weiss and Alice could take a bath together, eat together, and sleep together, all activities that involved the two of them spending time with each other were something they loved doing.
While Weiss and Alice were hugging each other on the bed, the Eater of Dreams was already flying toward the hotel rooms of Ayame and the rest of the team.
…
The Eaters of Dreams, with their grotesque, worm-like bodies, slithered through the hallways of Windesburg Hotel, leaving a trail of dark, eerie mist in their wake.
Their multiple glowing eyes blinked in unison as they navigated toward their first target: Kayden and Illya’s hotel room.
Drawn not by fear or anxiety but by proximity, the creatures moved with a sinister grace, sensing the nearby presence of potential prey.
As the Eater of Dreams approached the door, their presence caused the air to grow cold and heavy
They phased through the door effortlessly, entering the room where Kayden and Illya lay asleep. The creatures moved closer, ready to invade their dreams and feast on their fears.

Just as the Eater of Dreams drew near to Kayden and Illya, a sudden burst of bright blue light illuminated the room.
The Clarity Crystal, released from Kayden’s player inventory, floated above the sleeping figures. The crystal shone with a radiant, protective aura, casting away the darkness brought by the Eater of Dreams.
The creatures recoiled, screeching in pain and frustration.
The light from the Clarity Crystal intensified, forming a barrier around Kayden and Illya that repelled the mental invasion attempts of the Eater of Dreams. The protective energy of the Clarity Crystal was too powerful for the creatures to penetrate.
Defeated, the Eater of Dreams let out one final, ear-splitting screech before retreating from the room.
They slithered back through the door, their grotesque forms shimmering with rage and frustration.
The creatures regrouped in the hallway, their eyes blinking in a chaotic frenzy as they sought out other potential victims.
Determined not to leave empty-handed, the Eater of Dreams headed towards the next hotel rooms, hoping to find more vulnerable prey among Ayame and the rest of the team.
The Clarity Crystal’s light slowly dimmed, returning to Kayden’s player inventory as it continued to keep a watchful, protective presence over the room.
Although the Eater of Dreams were quite loud, their noises couldn’t be heard by those asleep. Only those who were awake could hear their ear-splitting screeches such as Weiss and Alice who listened but turned a deaf ear to it.
The Eater of Dreams slithered silently through the hallways of the Windesburg Hotel, its multiple eyes blinking in chaotic unison.
Drawn by the proximity of its next target, it phased effortlessly through the door of Ayame and Bianca’s hotel room.
Inside, Ayame and Bianca lay peacefully asleep, unaware of the grotesque entities closing in on them.
As the Eater of Dreams approached the bed, its sinister presence seeped into their subconscious. Ayame and Bianca’s dreamscapes began to shift and distort, merging into a single, nightmarish battlefield.
