Chapter 256: Eater Of Dreams [6]
Kuroneko chanted, his voice dripping with dark energy, “Dark Magic: Extinction Ray!”
He raised his hand, and a beam of dark energy shot forth, aiming directly at the Eater of Dreams.
The beam crackled with destructive power, disintegrating everything in its path.
The Eater of Dreams screeched in agony as the Extinction Ray tore through its body, but it was not defeated yet.
In a final, desperate attempt, it summoned the most powerful nightmare creature it could conjure – a colossal dragon made of shadows and flames.
The dragon roared, its fiery breath scorching the battlefield. Its massive wings beat with the force of a hurricane, sending shockwaves through the dreamscape.
The Netherworld Army was pushed back, their spectral forms struggling against the overwhelming power of the dragon.
Kuroneko’s eyes widened at the sight of the monstrous creature. “Cerberus, keep it busy!” he commanded.
The three-headed hellhound lunged at the dragon, its jaws snapping at the creature’s legs.
Kuroneko knew he had to act quickly. He began chanting another spell, one that would require all of his strength.
“Dark Magic: Soul Reaver!” he shouted, and a scythe of dark energy materialized in his hands.
This weapon was imbued with the power to sever the very essence of a being, its soul.
With a fierce determination, Kuroneko charged at the dragon.
The colossal creature swiped at him with its massive claws, but Kuroneko dodged with agility, his eyes fixed on his target.
He leaped into the air, bringing the Soul Reaver down on the dragon’s neck.
The scythe cut through the dragon’s shadowy flesh, severing its head from its body.
The creature let out a final roar before disintegrating into a cloud of dark energy.
The Eater of Dreams, weakened by the loss of its most powerful summon, was vulnerable.
“Now’s our chance,” Kuroneko muttered, raising the Soul Reaver high.
He channeled all of his remaining energy into the scythe, preparing for the final blow.
“Dark Magic: Final Requiem!” he shouted, and the scythe glowed with an ominous light.
He brought the scythe down with all his might, striking the Eater of Dreams directly.
The nightmarish entity screeched in agony as the dark energy tore through its form, shattering it into fragments.
The oppressive darkness lifted, replaced by a serene calm.
Kuroneko stood victorious, his breath heavy from the exertion. The battlefield, once a chaotic war zone, was now a tranquil dreamscape.
Cerberus, still in its hellhound form, stood by his side, its three heads panting from the fierce battle.
The Netherworld Army began to fade, their task complete. Kuroneko dismissed them with a wave of his hand, and the spectral warriors returned to the Netherworld.
Instead of waking up, Kuroneko found himself in a peaceful dream.
The once-barren battlefield had transformed into a serene meadow, filled with vibrant flowers and a gentle breeze. He shared a moment of peace with Cerberus, knowing they had overcome the nightmarish threat.
As they enjoyed their dream, the Eater of Dreams, now seeking another target, slithered through the hallways of the Windesburg Hotel once more.

Although the Eater of Dreams was killed by Kuroneko, JordanPlayz, ProGamerXD, and others before them, the Eater of Dreams was only partially killed per dream invasion.
Its full form wasn’t defeated yet but from the continuous deaths it experienced at the hands of Ayame and her team, it was nearing its end.
Despite that, the Eater of Dreams didn’t retreat. It knew it couldn’t since it needed to feed on the soul and suffering of its victims for it to recover.
So, the Eater of Dreams didn’t stop and headed to its next target, Kenshi and GoldMiner, who lay asleep in their hotel room.
The Eater of Dreams slithered toward their door, its multiple eyes blinking with malevolent intent. It phased through the door, entering their dream world and ready to unleash its nightmarish assault.
As the Eater of Dreams entered their subconscious, the peaceful landscape within their dream began to warp and twist. The serene surroundings morphed into a battlefield, with dark, oppressive shadows creeping in from all sides.
Kenshi’s eyes snapped open within the dream, immediately sensing the presence of the malevolent entity.
“Looks like we’ve got company,” he muttered, preparing to use his Sword Authority.
Beside him, GoldMiner’s eyes flickered open as well. “Time to get to work,” he said, his voice steady and determined.
He raised his hand, and the golden glow of his Midas Authority enveloped him, ready to turn anything he touched into gold.
The Eater of Dreams materialized before them, its grotesque, worm-like body writhing menacingly. Its multiple eyes fixated on Kenshi and GoldMiner, and it let out a bone-chilling screech.
Kenshi summoned a gleaming katana, its blade shimmering with a fierce light. “Let’s show this thing what we’re made of,” he said, gripping the hilt tightly.
GoldMiner nodded, his hands glowing with golden energy. “I’ll handle the defenses and support. You focus on taking it down.”
The Eater of Dreams lunged at them, its needle-like teeth bared in a horrifying snarl.
Kenshi reacted swiftly, his katana slicing through the air with deadly precision. The blade cut into the creature’s flesh, causing it to recoil in pain.
GoldMiner raised his hands, turning the ground beneath the Eater of Dreams into solid gold.
The creature struggled to move, its movements slowed by the heavy metal.
The Eater of Dreams summoned a horde of nightmare creatures to its aid. These twisted amalgamations of fear and darkness emerged from the shadows, their forms grotesque and horrifying.
Kenshi’s eyes narrowed as he prepared to unleash his swordsmanship.
“Wind-Style Swordsmanship: Gale Slash!” he shouted, swinging his katana with incredible speed.
A powerful gust of wind followed the blade, slicing through the nightmare creatures with ease.
GoldMiner used his Midas Authority to create golden barriers around them, protecting them from the onslaught of the nightmare creatures.
He then turned his attention to the creatures themselves, his hands glowing with golden energy.
“Midas Authority: Golden Rain!” he chanted, and the nightmare creatures began to turn into gold, their dark forms shimmering with a metallic sheen.
The golden energy accumulated in the sky, forming dark clouds that crackled with golden lightning.
GoldMiner raised his hands, and the clouds released a torrent of golden raindrops.
The golden rain fell like a hailstorm, piercing through the nightmare creatures and turning them into statues of solid gold.
